Unrelated, but has anyone tried intermediate fasting? Trying to cut down about 10 pounds.
>>65543158Just eat less. If intermittent fasting i.e. skipping breakfast enables that for you, then do it.
>>65543158yes. i have more energy throughout the day when i only eat 1 meal anyway. fasting means fasting though. none of this, "oh coffee doesn't count" shit. its water only until it's time to eat.

>>65543312Isn't black coffee just 1 or 2 calories per cup?
>>65543347>NOW I want to track calorieseverytime. if it triggers an insulin response, you aren't fasting
>>65543347Yeah dont listen to that other anon, black coffee is fine. If anything it burns more calories because of the caffeine
>>65543158one pig meal a day and drink protein shakes for breakfast and lunch. You'll lose 2-3 pounds a week. First two weeks suck. But once your pass that you'll feel great
>>65543141Thank you OP. Best op pic.>>65543158One meal per day, every weekday. Mainly veggies every weekday. Get an air fryer.

Went to Costco and didnt see a single Indian and only five Muslim. What does this mean?
>>65544193>didnt see a single IndianWe're fucked, our hecking econmorio is going to die and the line will not go up any more
>>65544192Indeed I did, saw most of my family and finally got my handguard in for my C308. With the proper scope rings and bipod the rifle is nearly complete, all I need to get now is an improved trigger and I'll have my dream poor man's PSG-1. I won't be a contrarian, metal/synthetic handguard+ wood stock goes incredibly hard
>>65544229Forgot pic>PoortexYeah I know but I got it for free so I'd be a fool not to use a perfectly serviceable scope. Do need to upgrade to a not shit red dot but that's something for future me to deal with, in the interim I have the irons to use

>>65544327I'm the anon from the other thread who couldn't get the aluminum buttstock hinge expansion bolt out of my OSW. It's been a pain in the ass trying to find a 1/2 inch drive slotted socket bit that will properly fit the bolt without bubbaing it, so I'm gonna order one of those FAL buttstock removal tools with the T-handle from DSA or Arizona Response Systems and take a blowtorch to the lower trigger housing.
>>65545834Does DSA not offer a conversion from tradition stocks to para?
>>65545841They do but I'm trying to replace my para stock with their M4 adapter.
>>65545841You end up with most of a rifle in spare parts so just build a para and have 2 rifles
>>65544520yeah but full length rifes are the hard R
Hey brg. This is my first br. It shoots so flat, and groups really nicely. I'm loving it. Will probably throw a magnifier on it at some point.
>>65545849>>65545914Is there a reasonn DSA never tried to 1913 it?
>>65546046/I appreciate ar10s that have the forward assist. Is that one a piston system too?
>>65546956Yep, piston driven. i don't have any particular allegiance to piston over DI, but in this case i think the system, and probably its weight distribution especially, contribute to very little muzzle climb, to the extent that it's flatter than my AR15s.
What does "flat-shooting" mean in your vocabulary because I'm getting mixed signals.
>>65547021I don't know what else it could mean besides the cartridge having a relatively flat trajectory you don't have to compensate for drop as much. If someone uses "flat" to describe a low-recoiling gun I'd be inclined to smack them for talking stupid
>>65546354The top cover is not a structurally sound area to mount anything to, it’s just a bent piece of metal sitting in some slots, it’s not even spring loaded or anything. Like an AK is.
>>65547021>>65547089yknow what now that you mention it, I think I've picked up a bad habit of saying it to refer to minimal recoil from the customers who come into the shop where I work. I'm gonna make of point of figuring out whether it's a fuddism or guntube fan thing or what.
>All the LGS in my area have collectively decided to process 4473s for suppressors and the like for those meeting the criteria as elaborated upon in the injunction>Tfw GOA memberGuess I'm getting a Canik (really OCL) Void 762 for my SCAR 17S
>>65547204Well I guess it makes sense to mean low recoil in the way that the muzzle would remain relatively flat while firing as opposed to jumping up or jerking around. Still would be a bit weird. I think the second meaning has more recently evolved from compfags. Specifically their pistols as they want minimal muzzle rise, or in other words they want a pistol that shoots flat
I thought flat shooting was always in regards to the maximum point blank distance of a cartridge.243 Winchester shooters flatter than .308 Winchester for example
>>65547021Not 308
>>65544192Just came back from Larping as WW2 soldiers at the Midwest Largest WW2 Event. Teaching the public by day, partying with the homies and strangers in uniforms at night. One of the best weekends for weather in long time, can not complain at all.
>>65543357Who said anything about sugar?
Okay boomers, responding to the poster above you without using the reply function is a way to denigrate that poster by implying that their post doesn't even deserve a "you".If you read the post you'd see that some retard was claiming that his AR-10 has a weight distribution which makes it "shoot flat" which is retarded. I wasn't asking you your opinion on what flat shooting means, because it only means one thing and it's not a matter of opinion.
>>65547021High velocity, low drag coefficient so it maintains that velocity while in flight (is it still called flight when it doesn't generate lift?) while still being weighty enough to overcome air resistance. 6.5x55 swedish is the first that comes to my mind. Pic unrelated.
>>65547448Did you forget to post this hours ago? That anon is right, black coffee on a diet is perfectly fine.
>>65546354Stormwerkz makes a 1913 stock adapter for the FAL para iirc.
Flat is very much a matter of opinion. I could see a "flat" tomboy and say she's flat. Yet some incel fetish furry foot fag zoomer could see her and not see flat at all.
@97So you're saying coffee is good for you?
Flat is justice, regardless of what 315-posters think.
>>65547497I drank coffee the whole time I was on a diet and still do. Not him though. I’ve never mag dumped my ar10. I’ve been meaning to but I always forget the cheap ammo since it’s not loaded in mags. I should do that right now.
Loading mags on the couch is zen time.
>>65547602
>>65547323That sounds awesome. I like to buy period accurate gear to accompany my rifles. My late WWII/Korea get up is incomplete, but I always wanted to do something like that.
I was going to save this for QTDDTOT but wanted to ask my /br/others first. For those with large collections, have you been at a point where you've felt like you've lost interest in your guns and debate selling them off? I have 13 long guns now and 5 hand guns, and I only really use a third of them. Sometimes I think about downsizing, but I usually just come to the conclusion that I'll regret it.
>>65549274I sell off guns all the time, I rarely regret it and even if I do I can go out and buy another if I really miss it that bad. But honestly downsizing has been nothing but beneficial for me. It's allowed the guns I do shoot to get more ammo of higher quality and to be stored more comfortably. Not to mention the nicer optics I've been able to buy with the proceeds. If you don't shoot something and it doesn't have some super important personal story tied to it, dump it. Doesn't matter if it's run of the mill or one in a million, if you don't shoot it you don't enjoy it>But what if I break it?If you truly love a rifle you'd be glad to see it die in your hands instead of seeing it wither away in the safe
>>65549274I always ask myself when I want to get rid of something, will my kids someday be mad if I sell this? And the answer is usually yes but when it's not I get rid of it with no regrets.
>>65549274There was a time where I sold like 14 guns in one trip I didn't even care about the price I just wanted them gone. That felt great and I don't regret it at all. Sometimes I make mistakes buying guns and I don't need to carry them with me forever as some sort of punishment. Now I'm really careful about what I buy in the first place.
>>65549274variety is the spice of life! between rifles and handguns and shotguns i've got upwards of 40 guns and I just rotate through them throughout the year, taking 3 - 4 out each month. i fully admit, some only go out once a year for various reasons, while i've got a handful (2) that I don't particularly care for that'll get sold someday.
Hello /brg/ does my super vepr count as a battle rifle?I also bought my very first scope for it (lpvo) and I plan on taking it to the range to zero it. I've never zeroed a scope before and the scope is a little offset. Any tips?
>>655470217mm Rem Mag
>>65549634Some people try to do it in as few rounds as possible but don't rush, you're new. This is a .308 right?
>>65549634close enough! i've always like the look of those veprs. if i didn't have a hadar to satisfy my big boy AK needs (or if found a vepry for a real good price) i'd be on the market for one myself. and get your target setup at like 30 yards and do 3 shot groups and adjust til you're good. if you're zeroed at 30 you'll be good to go at 100
>>65549649yes its a .308>>65549660I was planning on doing 50 yards. I'm also a bit nervous about weather cause it shows heavy rain and some wind this week (south Florida)
>>65549673well, keep in mind, if the scope is really off to begin with you might not hit your target at 50 yards at all. that'll complicate things lolalso... rain isn't the end of the word if you got some cover, but strong wind could fuck with you. regardless, good luck!
>>65549423I have a bunch of guns but I mostly just look at them, play with them like they're toys, and take them apart and put them back together. I rarely shoot them because of time and money. 2 or 3 get shot once or twice a year. But I still really enjoy them.
>>65549634My advice is aim for your target through the irons and make the scope point to the same place. It'll at least get you on target which is usually the hardest and most ammo expensive part of zeroing
>>65543158Try green tea, boiling hot.
>>65543158I really need to stop putting off buy a P83
>>65550155I keep dancing around it with other gear but all roads lead to it. I should have just bought one first it would have saved some money.

>>65549274I own something like 40 guns and have never sold one. And no I don't shoot all of them regularly, but a lot of them are things like preban AKs, milsurp, and discontinued imports that I would regret selling.

>>65543141Accurized M1A or G3/G3 derived?I love the looks of the M21 but I’ve heard it’s a pain in the ass to make it precise and keep it (speaking up to 700-800m) Ideally I would like to use it to hunt and shoot at the range.
>>65551024>spicy air>chernobyl holiday
>>65551199I really couldn't ask for a better rifle than my M1A national match. On the other end, a proper match G3 derivative might be hard to achieve. Just thinking available barrel profiles and twist rates really, and installation to a lesser extent. Try to get a 5 digit SN M1A for the best possible example.
>>65551370Damn anon that’s a sexy rifle, what do you have mounted?I think I’ll throw on an m2 bipod the day I get one
>>65551404I wouldn't recommend using the M2 bipod. I changed my POI and made the rifle much less precise. It also gouged the crap out of my stock when it was folded in. When shooting I will just rest my rifle on top of my ALICE pack, but if I were to get a bipod, I would get the sadlak quad rail section that replaces the front sling swivel assembly and put on a harris bipod. I will likely do this when i eventually get a McMillan stock to replace the factor bedded stock. As far as everything else, I have a bradley cheek riser, a sadlak airborne scope mount, a vortex viper PST gen II 3-15 scope, and the rifle is a 1993 M1A national match I got at a gun show for $1,700 a year ago. I consider myself really lucky to have it, its a very accurate rifle and reliable as long as I don't change shit with it. It did not like the GI synthetic stock I put on it, and when I had an EBR chassis, took some work to get right. Definitely more accurate than I am. I also owned a loaded M1A years ago that was produced much more recently, that rifle was fine too. HK91 derivatives are great though, and do perform better with M80 ball than my M1A does with it, though their twist rates aren't optimized for match ammo like an M1A with a match barrel.

>>65556182The bolt can be locked back when you have it out for cleaning, making it impossible to put back in if you don't unlock it. All you need to do is twist the bolt, slide it forward, and twist it back. It's simple but it tripped me up the first time I cleaned a C308

Planning on selling all of my BRs except one. Three options of what I want to keep/get are:>Keep Garand in 308 if I move out of state here in the next 6-8 months since it'll be ban legal>Keep my 50.61 FAL if I don't and also don't feel like building another FAL>Build Lebanese FAL since I have the build tools, the 50.61 is DSA madeIsraeli FAL I have is gone no matter what. While it is on a forged receiver and it is unique, the are early FAL features on it have gotten annoying to me. I really always just wanted a 50.00 FAL at the time when I built it, it was the cheapest way to get a FAL. Now I see a chance to maybe sell it for a decent amount of money and build another FAL and still have money back in my pocket. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

poorfag here, looking at potentially getting a polytech m14 if i can snag one for cheap enough. is there any reason i couldn't just mill out the postban fake flash hider if i got one? that seems easier than breaking the welds
>>65559584do you have a mill?mill and poorfag do not go togetherthough if your uncle or whatever has one that they let you use yeah you could use it. it could work for that task but it seems like overkill to break a weld.

Are DMRs just a subcategory of battle rifles? Honest question.
>>65560811pretty much?i think of a battle rifle as a full/semi auto rifle firing a full size cartridge (removable magazine is nice but not required) and that is meant for general issue to your soldiers. a DMR rifle isn't mean to be issued to everyone. if you do give everyone a DMR... it has now become a battle rifle.

Is it just me or do metric FAL mags really suck? What were they thinking with that tiny locking lug?
>>65565123>>65565262I had my NM M1A in an EBR chassis before I ultimately put it back into it's original stock. It initially made my 1/sub MOA gun into a 3 MOA gun, evidently some screws backed out even when torqued to spec, I retorqued it, applied blue loctite and adjusted the barrel whip screw and it restored the accuracy. Otherwise it was very front heavy, but did make it easier to mount a bipod, and would have made it possible to mount an IR laser. If I ever get a 18" or 16" version of the M1A I will probably put it in the chassis because I still thought it was cool as shit. The only thing I would have done differently is not used the sage cantilever mount, it's quick detach but supposedly doesn't hold the zero after removal. But I got it because my sadlak mount was too long and wouldn't clear the rail. Also don't forget to get a trigger shoe! It makes the trigger pull much better.

>>65571102We're getting hit by the other one this weekend. Yeah I'm getting ready, getting packed up to go camping after work tomorrow. I'm a little disappointed though, I took some stuff off of a chest rig and made this expanded hydration pack but now I'm down a chest rig and I can't really wear this with a pack on. I guess I could move the pouches back over just for the weekend but I really don't want to do that. Every time I think I'm done buying gear something else comes up.

>>65571248PTR or FAL
>>65571322nta but is it true ptrs are around 1-2 moa? I always heard they were inaccurate but that is totally acceptable to me.
>>65571326slightly worse than that but yes its its fine moa for out the box cold war tech. Its not an issue
>>65571334The weight isn't bad either since I won't be loading it down with accessories. Can I get a qrd on the different lengths/variants? Normally I would go straight for the wood but I like these green plastic ones I'm seeing.
>>65571342Just go with the PTR GIR. Don't have to worry about finding a good clamp mount and the green polymer furniture is classic. If you are inclined down the road to pay out the ass for surpluss wood furniture go for it. Thats why I did and it looks super pretty now.
>>65571475>pay out the ass for surpluss wood furnitureBut CETME furniture sets are like 80 bucks tops. 150 if you buy a whole parts kit just for the furniture
>>65571236I went back to my dr5k setup. It means I have to use a standalone hydration carrier which adds a set of straps but it's really not that bad, they're both thin on this.
>>65571248AR-10 clones are basically just AR-15s in .30 cal, you can't really go wrong and they are incredibly easy to get optics forFN FAL clones are heavy and expensive and have that weird non-reciprocating bolt handle that agitates my autism but there's nothing wrong with em, and most of em these days have rails for attaching accessoriesHK G3 clones are gucci af but you need to spend extra to get leverage on that dogshit charging handle which requires the force of Hercules the Legendary Journeys and Xena Warrior Princess combined to rock without it eating your hand, it's not very expensive to switch out but you need to do it because the stock ones are fucking horribleM14 clones are another thing that's almost impossible to ruin but they're expensive as hell (not as bad as FALs) and you can typically find accessories pretty easilyif you got the money, get a Springfield M1A or DSA SA58if you don't got the money but have the biceps, get a PTR91if you don't got the money or the biceps, get an AR10-t. has the M1A and PTR

>>65571596I want the full experience so I'll keep an eye on it to make sure it's the small one. Assuming I can even find one in stock. The place I would have assumed had one has no ptr products except some 7" pump action 12 gauge.
>>65571488>CETME furnitureget real g3 wood furniture
>>65571248I'd always recommend getting a PTR for your first BR. Cheapest mags, most reliable, and relatively the easiest to modify. Try to get an earlier PTR though. FALs can be finicky and their magazines are extremely expensive now. M1As/M14 derivatives are likewise finicky and have expensive magazines, though I seem to have good luck with them.

Went with DSA to get it off, 2 weeks of them trying and calling me to tell me it was the most thoroughly soldered brake they've encountered, so I just got it cut down and gas port opened a little. Shoots great. >>65588690The other option is I sell my PTR 18", buy a PTR K3P for $1600~, shoot it and have fun, then do a RCM barrel swap down the line.
>>65588729No, early DS LMT receiver with a Steyr kit. Hence why I didn't want to fuck up the barrel HT and elected to get it cut instead. It just appeared in my LGS, for $1500, and there wasn't even brass marks on the ejection area, was told by the store employee some old dude liquidated everything in his safe.Funny enough, there's a guy 1 hour from me selling another FAL built on an Imbel receiver with what looks like an early "Kal" FN barrel/bolt for about the same price, so I guess if I really want that 21" FAL, I could just drop the cash for that.
