Better yet, use an upper holding device and place it horizontally secured on a vice. Stick a long delrin/wooden cylindrical dowel into the back of the upper receiver that is wide enough to hit the barrel extension. Proceed to smack the dowel out while everything is hot with a mallet. If you don't know how to do gunsmith shit, leave it to a pro.
