Is the AUG good yet? I really like it in theory; it looks unique, it isn't an AR-18/AR-15 or an AK, the ability to turn the gas off is neat, as is the ability to remove the barrel in seconds for cleaning, storage or whatever.I've heard the trigger isn't good but can be fixed, however my main concern is people saying it's not good suppressed because of the gas system design, but it's not clear how much of this is because the gun wasn't originally designed with suppression in mind and that modern/current gas blocks are capable/available for suppressed use.I held one of the mystery meat clones at a gun show and liked the balance.Does it just get hate because it's "le contrarian" option?

I watched the review of this gun by the supposed professional gun reviewer/enthusiast "Hop".His complaints essentially amounted to "I can't be assed to learn a new manual of arms" and "it doesn't have enough rail space at the front for my IR laser/light".One of these complaints is completely subjective and the other, while objective, does not seem to apply to 99.9% of people.

AUGs should 100% come with handguards from the factory, but I still love mine. STILL waiting on Arid to drop theirs.

>>65544547As a suppressed AUG enjoyer, it's the next best thing to an AR-15 I've used.You can get a new gas plug for a silencer. There was a wait list but it's easy to put in and works. Rifle has been 100% reliable either way.The trigger is heavy, but it isn't crunchy or wobbly to throw off your shot. For a combat trigger it works. It's less gritty than a regular AR-15 trigger while the trade off is just more force and distance to make it fire. I'm happy with it and not replacing it. It's night and day better than the Tavors I've fired.It's accurate too. Maybe around 1moa with good ammo. Like I said it's reliable and it's also ergonomic and great to field strip. It is heavier than an AR-15, but the weight is in the back. One thing I don't hear many people mention about it is how loud it is. Even suppressed, the bolt and ejection is right by your ear so it's pretty violent, but fun to shoot. Wear double protection.tldr. if you're tired of the AR-15 and want something different but still capable, this is the rifle. You'll pay a good grand extra for the privilege, but people will always come talk to you when you shoot it.
