In one specific area they had snipers suppress the Iraqi army positions (which were in buildings in the city) and then drive a sequence of truck bombs into the position. I can't remember how many they used but it was a lot, each one with the explosive power of the one Tim McVeigh used in Oklahoma City. So there wasn't much left of the position after that. Seems like an effective tactic although in their case they had brainwashed fanatics driving the munitions into the position rather than using robots.

>>65548163A BTR-50 is a significantly better vehicle and could indeed hold more boom and would have a much better chance of getting to the target. Ukraine offers upgrades that turn it into a vaguely modernish APC/boat. It's hull is just barely thick enough to support being up armored to resist HMGs with a new engine. By modern standards it is made of plywood compared to the BTR-60's cardboard, not much but you can work with it. The BTR-60 is nearly hopeless except as a glorified technical if you put a modern turret on it.
