I was gonna make a sarchastic remark, but China likely wouldn't want to field test a system like that in Ukraine, even if Putin asked pretty please. Demonstrating that kind of tech, especially in a combat zone, would likely rock the boat enough that the US could make up reasons to retaliate diplomatically and economically, and anyone on that kind of project would likely consider any data from the Russians to be innacurate, even if the tech suddenly changes the tide in the war. China's got reasons to not share toys with the guys known for getting theirs lost in the mud.

US is a nothing burger for changs. No way in hell will US ever have the political will to fight them in the western pacific. Especially with trump, but (D)onkey interest is lukewarm as well. They would have to attack as far as Pearl Harbor to actually muster a serious military response

Chang main concerns are almost entirely internal. For starters saving face. Like what happened when their "stealth detecting" top line radars in Venezuela turned out to be glorified security blankets for maduro

You must admit that remote control tech has advanced a great deal since the 1940s.

>>65558460
>Kinda short for modern warfare isn't it?
Think of it more like a tank that can shoot without exposing mission critical elements of itself.
The petanks are basically an upcalibred cornershot that can advanced a few blocks and shoot down a boulevard while the command tank is safely ensconced in a parking garage or something.
Or just as a wingman for tanks which is also basically what it is.
It's not less useful than wingman drones just because it's on the ground.
>>
>>65558463
>Well yeah, because they have no fancy Starlink to help them out.

I'm sure they won't.
Also, they'd need to be running on fibre or they'd get detected and drones pretty quick.
Fibre is much less reusable, so they could exhaust it the way that Ukies are running elastic defences.
It's also not like the drone tanks will stand up to FPVs that much longer than a crewed tank and once they're dead, the command tank is an overpriced APC which will itself quickly die in a logistics run.

I remember those thermite drones being a bigger deal about a year into the war, seemed like the final variation of the grenade-drop drones, and then they basically vanished once FPVs were unveiled by Ukraine. Seems like on the battlefield they have little to no use anymore, meanwhile Russia is make ample use of them in their exercise. I doubt theyโ€™re using them because they have excess old stock left. So the question is, did the Russianโ€™s create them just for the sparkle-value added to the exercise, or, are Russian war planners so out of touch with the situation on the ground that theyโ€™re still using versions of old drones that fell out of the meta like 3 years ago?

It was three years and those were Ukrainian ones that used a Vampire drone.
They're still used but they're highly situational, their main function is to burn down positions based in dry woods, not much use in wet seasons and Ukraine's summer gets a lot of rainfall at the shoulders.

>>65559751
>meanwhile Russia is make ample use of them in their exercise.

They probably do, why would you think that everything they make finds itself properly to the front lines?
That would require a degree of honesty, cooperation, and competence that isn't well aligned with their previously observed performance.

>China is trying to build a Starlink for themselves
So is Russia, the first batch went ok and provides a spotty window over Ukraine but the second batch has serious and mysterious technical problems, most of them didn't reach their orbit, some just malfunctioned completely.

Nobody has provided any explanations for how it all went wrong or how the third batch will go.
It is officially a cause for concern for Ukraine though because if it really gets off the ground, it will reverse all the starlink headaches that Russia had.
>>
>>65561346
>if it really gets off the ground, it will reverse all the starlink headaches that Russia had.
Big if lol. I read they currently have 40 in orbit (who knows if theyโ€™re high enough to have a productive lifespan) and want about 300 by 2027 and then 1000 by 2035. Which begs the question, how are they going to 6x the numbers in a year and a half and then only 3x them after 8 more years? Wouldnโ€™t you expect with maturation of technology a better return on satellite placement? Starlink started in 2019 with 60 satellites and now has 10,000. Seems like classic Russian overpromising for an idea they canโ€™t develop.
>>
>>65561425
We do know that the first batch is mostly in position, it was the second batch that mostly failed to reach altitude (and some just died).
A handful from the first batch failed too I think but not enough to matter.

It's already a problem that Russia has connectivity for short windows, you might remember that Ukraine was targeting aerospace downlinks for a while, this was probably why.
It really is a big deal because Russia losing starlink access has been a bigger PitA than a lonely chechen entering your bunker on a Thursday night.
Whether they'll be able to scale it is unknown, they seem to have scaled missile production and Geran 5 jet drones pretty well and that's already causing trouble.

It's unwise to underestimate your enemy, even Russia. They're capable of adapting tactics and developing and manufacturing new arms within the duration of the war and if they're ever not quite up to the job, China is willing to sell them a lot of that tech.

Well they have about a 40% success rate at launching these temu-starlink satellites, I wouldn't call that very good.
It's just that 40% is enough to cause a problem on the battlefield, even if it's in no way a program success.

When debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of losers.
You provided no proof, so No. Your statement is pointless and we all know it. You should petition the powers-that-be here for a conspiracy forum. It'd probably do well.

/k/id word. Your behaviour and response and this confirm you're underaged. Tsk tsk. Further proof: you're going to feel the need to respond to this. :^)

Do you not know about Wagner and Rusich? Russia had and has a very large neo-nazi population, iirc largest in the world. At least it was, god willing they won't have the most of anything except corpses soon eough.

i'd wager a guess the people who are in the army are cut from the same stock as those in prison. this is kind of a rule for most countries, the lowest of the low gutter trash with unrestrained violent impulses.

How funny would it be if Ukraine droned their Armata and were able to film it?
>>
>>65561460
The biggest deal with Starlink is the ease of plug and play and live, nearly-continuous connection for any roaming drone/unit using it. Thatโ€™s only achievable with a dense satellite network that Russia just isnโ€™t capable of building. Iโ€™m not underestimating them, itโ€™s just a fact they canโ€™t do that, even their own numbers betray that. Only 1000 satellites in 10 years? Starlink had 10,000 in 6 years. Theyโ€™ve already proven to be resilient after starlink went down by using relays and building a mesh network to stabilize the front and any satellite network Russia would be capable of building in a feasible time-frame would just augment that network but wouldnโ€™t supplant it or replace it. Thatโ€™s not great for Ukraine but itโ€™s not horrible either, especially since they werenโ€™t going to stop Russia WiFi capabilities to begin with.

Also worth noting that the modern Russian military has never been a fan of quick decision making, so itโ€™s not like an integral part of Russia doctrine was hampered by the removal of Starlink. Arguably, Russian obstinacy and backwardness saved them from a worse outcome when Starlink was removed.

https://www.euronews.com/2026/10/04/has-plague-returned-to-siberia-panic-in-russia-after-death-of-lab-worker

>The deceased, a 28-year-old laboratory assistant, specialised in research on dangerous pathogens. According to the main account reported by her colleagues and independent media, on 25 September, while working with live biological material in the laboratory, she accidentally smashed a test tube containing the dangerous bacterium Yersinia pestis.

>Two days later Shipilova's condition suddenly worsened. She was rushed to Shelekhov district hospital. At first doctors, unaware of what had happened, suspected a severe case of coronavirus and admitted her to a specialised Covid unit. However, the rapid deterioration and the clinical picture forced them to carry out rapid tests for highly dangerous infections. The patient was put on a ventilator, but her life could not be saved.

During the Korean war the DPRK was a conventional regional power who got minor support from the PRC and USSR and beat the USA to a standstill despite the USAs overwhelming atomic, air and infantry support*

*At no point in the Korean war did the DPRK or combined PRC/DPRK forces outnumber the UN forces. During the entire war the UN/USA/RoK outnumbered them.

We could have a cool sound track

Jump off gym equipment, throwing axes at stuff, somersaults, some judo throws and breaking plywood with someone else's face

Yeah, that "minor" support of a quarter million veteran light infantry bailing out the shattered Nork army, follwoed by another ~3 million fighting the war for them for the next couple years. "Minor help" is apparrently when someone sends in three times as many men as you have participating.

I honestly got to question the sanity of anyone 'fucking around' with super infectious diseases ever since the Chongs unleashed the corona.
The fact the agent was available to any simple minded retard for fucking around to begin with is just crazy, you stick that kind of thing in the no-retards room behind the big no retards allowed doors

That said, I hope no humans die but it can kill all the Russians it wants

That's where it was.
Accidents can still happen, or it was just a natural outbreak of the kind that they were studying, also plausible since if such diseases exist in the wild, you're going to want to study them.

The word on the street is that the Russian researcher who died was originally treated as a bad-case-of-coronavirus patient. Which means she would have been given antiretroviral medicaltion, NOT antibiotics (as antibiotics don't work against viruses). Would explain why she died: She was given wrong kind of medication.
It was only later when her condition quickly deteriorated when they started running tests for other pathogens. At which point it was too late.

Sucks to suck.

The presentation of viral pneumonia is completely different from bacterial pneumonia, especially plague pneumonia.
