The fourth, in alphabetical order, museum I dropped by during my summer vacation to the UK.

Oscar EW 5894 Phallus Tactical Fighter Bomber, aka Folland Gnat T1, in Red Arrows livery. Though the museum credits it to Hawker Siddley instead of Folland, I'm guessing the usual military industry ownership shenanigans were at play at some point.

Anti-submarine bomb, 12000lbs Medium Capacity

Now the last one looks very compact for a weapon that's by its name supposedly in the same ballpark as the Tallboy, so I'm guessing that might be a title slapped on there to indicate A Real Big Kaboomâ„¢ rather than its actual weight. It is, in polite speech, a "special weapon", and judging by photos I think it's what the Americans called the Mark 101 Lulu, which'd place the A Real Big Kaboomâ„¢ more specifically at 11kt.

TIALD pod (Thermal Imaging Airborne Laser Designator). Rushed from early prototype to actually-sorta-combat-ready in about a month so it could take part in the 1991 Gulf War (and as the paintjob may suggest this isn't a museum dummy, but one of the two actual pods used there) via a crunch session that'd make Bioware proud. Tracy there is apparently from a comic called Viz, the other pod was (after some confusion it seems) named Sandra.

Sopwith Triplane, one of two known survivors (so now I've seen both, the other one's in Monino).
This is the aircraft that inspired the Fokker Dr.1, and the two did well enough to inspire a number of other triplanes since that was apparently the shit. But in hindsight, no, triple wings are not the way (wingtip drag...), these aircraft simply had enough other advances in them that they did well despite the triple wings.

Molins 6-pounder Class M gun
A 6-pounder anti-tank gun (of which there were a lot free for other use due to the 17 pounder having been introduced) adapted for aircraft use by adding an autoloader, the latter designed and built by Molins, a company that specialised in cigarette handling machines. A few of these were fitted into Mosquito aircraft (nope, no Beaufighters, despite where it's displayed), which were then promptly sent off to Coastal Command as the RAF decided to focus on rockets for anti-tank work.

In a somewhat adorable but probably rather misguided attempt to be helpful the sign provided kilogram conversions for 6-pounder and 17-pounder.

English Electric Canberra PR3
Photo-recon version of the Canberra bomber.
The Canberra was quite an export success. Amongst other Sweden bought a few (two I think), upgraded the electrical power output significantly, and flew them as transports. Yep, transport,s nothing but transports. Don't worry about why you'd use a supersonic bomber for that job, the extra antennas all over the fuselage, or that they seemed to only transport stuff to the same airfield they took off from via a lengthy back-and-forth flight near USSR territorial waters out over the Baltic. Transports.

Hawker Hunter FGA9
One thing I've seen little mention of in British museums is that the Hunter originally couldn't use its guns without the muzzle blasts making the engines choke out. Luckily they managed to fix that eventually, as it'd be a waste of an otherwise excellent fighter aircraft had they not.

Swapping over to my wide angle lens... and accidentally nudging the aperture ring from A to 22 in the process. Any tighter and we'd probably start seeing diffraction rings...

Not a helicopter, but a rotary kite meant to be towed behind a surfaced U-boot, since they didn't have any tall mast for anyone to look around for ships from. From what I heard it actually worked kinda ok.

The last one there is a peculiar anti-radiation missile that dealt with the target shutting down the emitter by incorporating a small parachute, allowing it to loiter around for a while in the hopes of them turning it on again.

A "bomblet dispenser", ie a more orderly and controlled cluster bomb, that you didn't actually drop but instead just carried along as you flew over whatever runway it was you wanted well cratered. Let's hope the AA is mild. IIRC someone would later on get the idea that that it was near enough a lifting body design, so with some small fins for stability you could drop it form a non-negligible distance and not fly right over whatever triple-A was present, add some further tweaks and that gave us the Swedish BK90. That in turn is then supposed to be a rather distant ancestor of the Taurus KEPD.

For the americans, Viz magazine was probably the UK equivalent of "Mad " magazine in having a subversive, often anti-establishment comedy, that was often vulgar and mocked society with characters like "the fat slags", or "Cockney wanker".
It came out of the punk fanzine scene of the end of the 70's, and was at its peak popularity around 1990, and the gulf war era. Apparently its still being printed, but I've not seen a copy this century...

Lol, the only other one I can think is the distillery near the Titanic museum in Belfast - though that's also where HMS Caroline is moored

Nikon Zf, mostly with a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 G2 on it, and when necessary to squeeze everything into the frame a Viltrox 16mm f/1.8. Though as I'm often finding myself wishing for more zoom and rarely going down to even f/4 due to the depth of field, to say nothing of f/2.8, I'm probably going to get myself as Nikon 24-120 f/4 before my next vacation trip and use that as the main lens instead.
