What are FRTs:
Forced Reset Triggers (FRTs) are firearm modifications that allow semi-automatic rifles to fire more rapidly by automatically resetting the trigger after each shot, while still requiring a trigger pull for each round. They increase the rate of fire without converting the firearm into a fully automatic weapon.

List of platforms that offer FRT/Super Safety support or are currently in development, footage and recommended distributed sellers.

Do you know if there's much of a difference between the different carriers for the calibers? I pick up the RPK one for my vepr, but I've got like five different veprs and different calibers. I'm going to try it on since they all have the rpk receiver
>>
>>65560721
If I had to guess what Triggered Comapny did, its likely the spring or the length of lever to the tail end of bcg.

>picrel
Looks like the lever will pop up when in-battery thats why we saw wear on the leading edge, mostly the bcg flying back.

>different carriers for the calibers
Almost definitely between major calibers, certain manufacturers probably have small differences or home builds.

So for your case, Im guessing the RPK lever may be longer so the worst you will get is a 'locked' trigger since the lever is not all the way up.

I know VEPR and Saiga are diff manufacturers for their rifles but I would imagine Molot would follow some TDP for 47 & 74 like Izzy did. So RPK may not cover it all, expect to maybe buy one new one if you have a .223 at the least.

If we're honest with ourselves we all know these are gonna get banned when the dems are back in power, right?
>>
>>65561697
probably, but the idea for me at least is that because there are so many, they would be grandfathered in.

Also FRTs are threatened right now with the republicans in power right now because of the ATF shit.
>>
>>65561703
I kinda doubt they will grandfather this since it is so new.

>the idea for me at least is that because there are so many, they would be grandfathered in.
Like the bump stocks? Yeah.
>>
>>65561722
what happened with bump stocks? I'm uninformed.

FRTs currently are sold by a ton of companies and you can make them yourself by printing them, it's substantially more difficult to go door to door
>>
>>65561719
Well sure, but if they make it a felony to possess, like the same punishment as modifying an AR-15 to be full auto, I don't think it's gonna matter that much.
>>
>>65561735
well yeah, then it goes to court etc.. then eventually it could be legal again. That's how it works.

As long as no asshole maniac commits a mass shooting then we're probably okay for a while.

most times when legislation is considered regarding guns is usually right after a shooting, very impulsive and reactionary. I remember there was a law maker considering banning suppressors because this incredibly rare instance, a guy used it during a shooting, they werent considering it otherwise.
>>

We'll see. I think what will probably happen is the conservative supreme court will be nerfed by dems when they interfere with whatever bills they pass. I wouldn't generally be this worried about it but it's looking like we're gonna lose Iowa because of this fuckass war. If they nuke the filibuster they're probably gonna reform like half the government. Hell the whole country could have cali rules. I do expect ARs and other guns that are considered "assault weapons" to be grandfathered but stuff like this seems questionable.
>>
>>65561697
I'm not sure they'll try anything drastic. If they try to call them illegal on the basis of being machine guns then that would make MGs "common use" and open the door for deregulation.
Also there's a good chance that some of the NFA cases going through the courts go our way and a lot of shit gets deregulated long before the next election anyway.

>New update from Hoffman regarding the selectable trigger kickers

Anyone know if he's had this run past a patent lawyer yet to (1) file his own patent application on it, and (2) ensure he's not gonna get sued again by Rare Greed?

The original TK pretty clearly didn't infringe anything that I know of from Rare Greed. Given his past anti-patent attitude, I'm a bit worried he's going to fuck up massively and leave himself open to a lawsuit again.

>>
>>65577784
it's saying that if you want the extra power spring and if you dont select it, you have to send it back. Not related to caliber compatibility. If all your guns work with the same spring, then all would be needed is an extractor change.

>>65577797
I hope that's the case, but then I guess you need to pray that whatever ammo you have doesn't have hard primers. This seems like a shitty setup regardless.

Warranties in the firearms industry are not actually meant to be used. They're meant to be excessively generous, transferable, and all encompassing as a sort of economic statistical hedge/guarantee to the consumer/customer that the engineering and quality control in the product itself meets a standard/threshold that if there were any appreciable number of failures/claims the company wouldn't even be solvent.

>Still not taking FRTs seriously
You're like the faggots that shit on braces because they weren't actually stocks. Get fucked.
The less salient point but more important one however is that our conversation so far has gone as follows:
>I point out that part of the FRT mechanism appears weak and as such might be unreliable
>You say no it is okay
>I elaborate with reasoning why it might not be okay
>You say the company is good and if it breaks you have a warranty
>I point out a warranty is useless, pointless, and meaningless in the context of a real killing tool
>You say well this is a toy, not a real tool
You're not even engaging in a genuine self consistent manner. If your argument is eventually reduced to the last point, that this is a toy not a real serious tool, then why even defend it initially saying that the mechanism will be okay? Why not just start off with that argument, that you're fine with the questionable design durability because to you (soi faggot man child wallhanger talisman consoomer collector) these are just toys?

>>65578771

>You're not even engaging in a genuine self consistent manner.
I'm operating on the idea that it is just a fun range toy. Of course if it breaks it stinks, but since it's just a toy, I would get it fixed. You're operating under it being a serious killing tool or something and if it breaks there would be critical consequences and that's incredibly cringe.

To be fair, tons of other people make 'weak' FRTs. I remember seeing the wire for the Diablo Trigger and instantly rejected that it would last. Im assuming some of these companies want you to buy more since their argument is going to be 'operator error'.

Hell even the lightning links are just cut flat steel. Now some may never be used, but still how many times yo think those fuckers have been re-welded or "restored" *cough cough* re-manufactured *cough cough*

Even so, the reason some of these are so thin or weak in some places tells a story of the design path, for the wrangler, I think its thinner to dodge the center support pin for stamped receivers since milled dont need the extra rivet. Hoffman did a lot as well through is development, at the bottom center is older FRT designs he experimented with, went on to do SS, and now he is kicker, and I can kinda see some of older designs slipping into the kicker.

They're not "weak"... they actually are. And the fact that so many companies make these bullshit gimmicks is no defense or excuse.

My buddy and I installed one in his RPK and within a couple hundred rounds it bent and got caught up in the action BADLY, completely fucked the wire up.

Tried to fit it in an Arsenal, had to shave it down a ton because of the tighter bolt to receiver tolerance. Got bent up just from hand charging.
>do a better design
Saying this like everyone is just magically inspired to **design**, we would be in near utopia from ideas. Its easy to get rooted in one design and keep trying to fix it, and its easier to fix with a 'known good' part, hence all the remixes you see with 3D2A stuff.

Ideas come and go, not all are great and you gotta fail to succeed, there will always be copycats, etc etc. (Don't throw KNOWN shit products on your customers at a obscene MSRP - unless you are the monopoly, to which nobody has a choice anyways).

We got like 5-10 years of shit to wade through for good good FRTs and hopefully by then Hughes is repealed and it was all for nothing.
>>

>5-10 years of shit to wade through for good good FRTs
I know they get hate but RareGreed has mastered the MP5 FRT. Cloak is a good 2nd place, I've only seen one person having an issue with theirs but they also said the RB had really bad trigger slap so I just think their MP5 was out of spec because that's kinda what happens when you get a roach clone.
>>
>>65580351
What’s the meta on the best MP5 FRT setup?
t. Retard that hasn’t been keeping track since the roach clones.
>>
>>65580687
It's literally the Rarebreed. The fullsize SP5 doesn't need a new locking block but the SP5k may need to be changed from the 100 degree it comes with to a 90 to 80 degree. Other than that it's flawless. There's a guy on YT shooting 15k+ rounds through his with no issues.
>>
So legally speaking, how much worse would it be for you if you were to have to use say an frt Glock in a self defense situation?

>>65580714
Legally speaking, you are supposed to use deadly force only to stop the problem, not to slaughter everyone in the room (unless that's the only way to stop the problem of course).

So, a prosecutor might try to go after you for using excessive force, or for endangering bystanders if any. Of course, some states ban FRTs and so might go after you for that as well.

I'm not really a big "keep the gun totally factory original and only use the blandest of normie ammunition" type, but I would not want to have to deal with the likely legal problems.

Then of course there's the excessive ammo usage. My usual CCW is a Glock 26. With an FRT, that's probably three bursts. With even two assailants that's already getting iffy. And then there's the "oh fuck in my adrenaline-charged overstrength reactions I just jammed the FRT and broke it" problem. IDK if Glock FRTs will jam up the gun or break parts if you super-strength-pull the trigger. I don't want to have to find out during a shootout.
>>
>>65580687
Like >>65580696 said, rare greed is #1 if you want a pure clone correct look. ASD lower with an Arc v2 and a fancy trigger will be a LOT better in terms of trigger pull, but that means you're giving up the clone looks.

The answer to your fourth paragraph is the same as anyone asking about any gun or modification for self-defense: go and train with it, and learn how to use it.
>>
>>65580876
>IDK if Glock FRTs will jam up the gun or break parts if you super-strength-pull the trigger. I don't want to have to find out during a shootout.
what would happen is that you will squeeze too hard and first round is fired then the slide would be locked back until you let go of the trigger in a loop until empty. Basically a really shitty normal semi-auto

Just use your gun as it is, according to the FBI most encounters end in about 1-3 rounds anyway
>>
>>65578357
Wow, this AR is setup is genuinely horrendous. Lets break it down.

>Sub 10 inch barrel, not good for 5.56mm
>Front sight but no rear sight, it's just dead weight and obscures your sight picture
>Foregrip has annoying nubs on it, shave them down
>Optic is a pistol sight, these have stronger tinting, more noticeable parallax and worse NVG performance than full size red dots
>The grip as more nubs on it, plus a weird looking rear hump that would dig into your hand, shave them down
>The stock looks heavy and uncomfortable, replace with a magpul

You can do it. I believe in you.
>>
>>65582146
>The answer to your fourth paragraph is the same as anyone asking about any gun or modification for self-defense: go and train with it, and learn how to use it.
No, it's not, because in a real firefight you will be having an adrenaline response and will have poor muscle control. You can "train" all you want but your "training" will never include that, unless of course you want to inject yourself with adrenaline before starting your training.

Rarebreed is the go to by a mile. Major thing to watch out for is that they can have issues with some navy lowers(Turkish for the most part) which require shimming or requesting a different tripper from rarebreed to resolve. The ARHK is the big competitor but it's too new to know how it compares while only being mildly cheaper than the rare greed. All the other setups using SS style designs are kind of a crapshoot, they require significant modification to make work and usually require tuning to get running well.

If you're talking about what host to use then SP5 is the obvious winner followed distantly by the Turkish guns. Just ignore ptr, the turk guns are fundamentally solid but with notable QC issues, which is better than the rest of your options I guess.

I can only speak for myself, but my ASD lower required zero adjusting or tweaking. I just slapped it on, added in the trip, and it ran perfectly.

Just got back from the range trying out my new rare GREED FRT in my AP5. They're a fairly well known commodity at this point but just thought id drop a little mini review for anyone considering them.

>round count aprx 200
>ammo: mix of 124gr, 147gr S&B subsonic
>malfunctions: 1
Overall gun ran like a top. I did encounter one malfunction where a piece of brass failed to eject completely, was caught by the returning bolt, and smashed into the top right corner of the ejection port. Had to be pried out but could be done by hand. I'm not ready to lay this at the feet of the trigger group though, this AP5 had some issues from the factory that had to be rectified and I also changed out the LP for a new 100 deg RCM one this range trip to help with that(gun running too hard, caused strange ejection issues, largely resolved by new rollers but still mauling brass). I also spazzed out like a retard when this malf happened, jerking the gun rearward and likely inducing it in the first place.

>Are rare breeds good for you?
Honestly id strongly recommend this combo(MP5/FRT) to people thinking about a first FRT. Selector is a notable improvement over standard ones, it isnt much bigger but is notably easier to actuate. No detectable trigger slap and movement itself is something youd have to focus on to notice. Doubletaps are both quicker and somehow more accurate than doing them in semi. Triples are also braindead easy. Once you get somewhere around the 6-7 round mark though you'll need proper form to avoid undue stringing(usually up and to the right), but still very much so in the realm of combat accurate even if you arent doing your part. Definitely one of if not the most controllable FA/FRT guns I've shot.

Overall Id definitely recommend it, I think the extra 100-200 bucks over the alternatives is worth it in my case for drop in reliability with even a bit of a friday afternoon example of a clone. Whether that's true for you as well is up to you to decide.
>>
>>65599109

What's the hottest that a .22LR barrel could get from sustained FRT fire? Say, multiple 30-round mag dumps? At the chamber since that's gonna be the hottest? Assume a 10/22.

I have a mars 10/22 frt that after much gnashing of teeth and rending of garments is working 98% of the time. I have approached what you're requesting with a normal full steel bbl and the answer is too hot to touch but not hot enough to stop working. I've never used a thermometer and wouldn't go to the trouble but my amateur sense of it is that the energy 22 generates isn't dense enough to offset the ability of that much barrel steel to absorb and radiate it away between strings of fire, and I've done 3 110rd ATI drums back to back.

What's hellish is the mess it makes. The fouling...my god it gets everywhere. Full auto 10/22 needs an ultrasonic every single time.

Greetings. It's ya boy, MR556A4 anon. The RareSneed is holding up well. We're near 1500 rounds and operation is still smooth. Problem: this little grub screw backed out again. It is indeed very wacky becuse when the screw is in the gun runs flawlessly. But it backs out until at a certain point FRT just turns off. Then it's semiauto only.i have an AR15 Raresneed FRT and it doesn't do this so it's very odd.

Contrary to popular belief, if you want a screw to become permanently in place, use bearing retaining compound. That bitch will be welded.

So Wrangeler News:
Mine got delivered, Got a 9mm and 556/545 one
SAM5, no surprise there, seems like it works but there are issues with possible OOB.

9mm does not fit KP9, hammer/lever is too high for bcg.

On the site it says it supported though

You wouldnt happen to be the anon that mentioned he had a saiga 12g would you? Also what makes you think there might be an OOB issue? I'm guessing you can pull the trigger before the bolt closes all the way?

>>65615942

I humbly have a WASR10

Thats a no on the saiga, maybe some mild gunsmith work can get it in but I dont have the tools atm
>>
>>65615975
Im guessing the trigger pack doesn't fit? Ill have to wait to see if anyone who picks up the RPK version tries it.
>>
>>65615979
Its some outer cassette stuff, reset lever looks like it can reach, not sure how much of the shelf in mine blocks the unlocking lever tho.

PMR-30 FRT coming out this week
>>
Ordered the VIKHR ps90 FRT kit and a K&M Lightning rear sear spring yesterday and got shipping confirmation. Supposedly the spring helps prevent locking up the FCG when cranking back on the trigger hard during FRT mode.

Ruger 10/22 3 position FRT revealed by Triggered Company

https://triggeredcompany.com/fm-trigger/

I love my HK Mr556a1 with an arc fire in it (it was truly drop in with no tuning needed). Although I got it for a steal and only paid 2200 for the rifle. It also came with additional tan furniture & a geissele trigger, geissele handguard, and c
geissele charging handle. So I love mine but definitely check the used market, there are deals to be had.
>>
>>65615187
when converted to semi, mg42s already use a new grip stick, bolt, and ar15 trigger. I bet you could just throw a trigger kicker in there and it'd work fine.
>>
>>65617068
>trigger kicker
Tried this, the crossbolt safety and transfer bar has issues, was able to get it to work *kind of* but didnt like how stiff the kicker was for the bolt I had installed.
>>
>>65616039
Sign me up 9n this one!
>>
>>65617068
The semi grip sticks won't accept FRTs. There isn't enough clearance for the cassettes and no safety detent to make a super safety or arc-fire work so you at least need to modify them.
Either way it won't work without a new bolt extension because the BRP extensions need to be .55" longer to get everything timed correctly and give enough clearance for the trip/lever.

Where's my fucking marlin 60 FRT god damnit?

The M60 blows the 10/22 tinkertoy away in every way, you'd know that if you ever handled one.
