If I had to guess 'owned by the same family' =/= 'the same family has been in charge at the top.' Anything from technically junior partners calling the shots to boards of directors and other executives. Probably has a decent roster of single women cousins, sisters, and nieces to marry into if a suitable rich investor wants legitimacy as well. I can easily see the Beretta FAMILY being the on-paper owner of the factory for 500 years if that includes the usual corporate shenanigans around it.
