What's the largest personal cache of weapons you've ever seen in person? Whom did it belong to?
>>
>>65559711
A military armory. US government property.

Second biggest was probably the armory at my high school.
>>
>>65559771
Shit, you did say personal. In my defense, my wife was talking when I was trying to read.

Um... probably my own arsenal of like three guns. I don't have any friends.
>>
>>65559771
I was born too late to have marksmanship as an extracurricular.
>>
When I worked for a small police station doing parking tickets I caught peak of their armory. I was surprised to see 25 or 30 AR-15s when they only had like 15 cops employed there.
>>
Uiuc trap and skeet club
Dude had an entire pickup truck full of donated shotguns

I once had like $40K worth of over/under shotguns in the back of my old subaru because they needed to get out of the rain during a competition, i wish I had taken a picture.

>>65559711
My own lol.

I have not one, but 2 crazy surplus stacking uncles. Different sides of the family, one cop, one soldier. Both have been buying ammo and guns since before I was born. Both have showed me their manifest of what they have stacked in their closet and attics. Why is it always uncles?
>>

>like $40k worth
So three guns?
>>
Used to work at a surplus shop that had been around since the 50's. Got shown the armoury back room once. Multiple Mg42, mg34, mp40s, two dozen sten guns, a crate of bren guns, Johnson rifles, some no4 rifles still in the grease paper, and that was just the front of the stack, the room went back a ways. The family had owned the business for three generations, nothing on the books.

To all comrades here. If the answer is not “Me”. You need to do better.

Me, 100+

They don't have to spend all their money on raising kids.
T. An uncle.

Are those fucking Besa MGs?
>>
>>65559711
In 1991. My dad took me to a recently liberated JNA armory around Split, Croatia. Walls and walls of machine guns, RPGs, some belt fed stuffs, thousands of AKs, bullets pouring out of every box stuffed in massive crates, tables and tables of unidentifiable electronics. Grenades everywhere. I was 6 at the time but it blew my fucking mind to this day
>>
>>65560149
Well, it's either me or my friend whose dad just died and left him 3 or 4 extra guns to add to his existing collection.
But those dad guns were cheap shit that were also in poor condition, so I'm almost inclined to not even count them.

Around 2006 in Czechia, still in high school, a friend I knew through airsoft took us home. His dad collected WW II machine guns and SMGs (they did WWII reenacting together as well), it was like a little museum. As the guy became an adult they kept building the collection further, few years ago the dad passed away and the son carries on.

Czechoslovak vz.37 in 8 mm Mauser, the gun Besa was licensed from.

That's a shame. We had just transitioned over to .177 from .22 when I got to HS so we couldn't shoot "real guns" on school property but still. That was my sport. I had wanted to shoot competitively since I was a little kid but the money and time weren't there.
>>
My grandfathers basement. He collected for 50 years. It was mostly boomer WW2 shit but he had a Mini-14 in just about every configuration imaginable. He lived in an old house and an electrical fire (I’m still not convinced it wasn’t the constantly overflowing ash tray on his desk) sent it all up in smoke. Once it started the ammo was cooking off so there wasn’t anything anyone could do to stop it. They just sat back and watched it burn. The insurance battle was a nightmare.

My great uncle’s stash before he passed. Korean War veteran and avid cowboy action shooter, so he had over 200 revolvers, lever guns, 1911s, a Garand like the one he carried in Korea, a Barrett, etc. All neatly lined up and meticulously maintained too. Wish I got closer to him.

Dragon man aka Mel Bernstein.
>>
Honestly the largest personally owned stash I have seen in person is my own at 11 guns. I have two friends who probably has more than me but I haven't seen them all or know the number.
>>
Armory rooms by far, explosives are not cheap. Personal collection I have a friend from the shooting community that easily has multiple 7 figures in guns, multiple more in ammo and accessories. I would guess it's fairly common for those of us with decent careers to break into that range as you age significantly. 10 decently equipped guns and a baby ammo fort is doing great for 23, pretty embarrassing if you're 73

Rougly 800 weapons about 120 handguns and 220 longarms, three cannon, another 400+ swords, sabers, bayonets, axes, smallswords, maces concealed weapons, daggers, shields, oriental weapons, helmets, bows, crossbows. Piles of scopes, sights, body armour, NV gear, reloading gear LBE etc etc Spanning from very early matchlocks and wheelocks, early 17th century firearms through all the major powers key issue weapons for the next 300 years following each major technical change covering hunting and self defense the british and french empires, napoleonic wars, ww1, ww2, US civil war, sudanese war, spanish civil war, polish soviet war, franco prussian war, conquest of india, afghan and sudanese wars, dutch colonial wars, Italy and Switzerland up to the modern era with precision and semi automatic weapons as well as iconic full autos like the sten, silencers etc etc

Me.

IIRC ~200 guns. Estate auction. Maybe 1/4-1/3 were handguns. A lot were pretty collectible. All from one owner. Maybe 10 of those guns were cheap $100 guns, the rest were all $250-500 and up including like 10+ $900-1000+ rifles of the same model, different caliber.
>>
>>65559711
Mine, 13 guns at its biggest
I got to visit a collector's gun room once because I bought an L1A1 from him but he said he'd sold most of his guns already so he had fewer guns than I do now
