Which rifle should I buy?Made a thread previously (>>65554974)Sadly all the rifles within my budget (mid-range) from Tikka and Bergara are out of stock. There's only hyper-expensive rifles or basic hunting ones left.My currents options are:>Mossberg MVP LC ($1800)Pros:- Comes with MDT-made chassis- AR-10 mags (max 10 rounds tho)- ModularCons- So-so workmanship- Probably not that accurate (1.5 MOA)Not sure if con or Pro:Sold by the shop of my range, they agreed to let me test it so I'm a bit invested on it already. I will feel like a dick if I try it and then refuse to buy it. But it's a good idea to keep good relationships with them because their shop can import shit for me from USA or Europe.>CZ 600 Range ($2200)Pros:- Wood- Accurate (0.75 MOA)- Czech quality- I like how it looksCons- So-so workmanship- Expensive low capacity magazine (5 rounds)- Have to buy a separate pic rail ($50-100)So hard to decide...
Forgot to say:They are ll in .308Use: 300m-800m target shooting with high magnification scope (I have an Arken EP-5 GenII 5-25x that I'll use). I don't live in USA, Europe, or Aus/NZ so my options are limited. Don't suggest 6.5 Creed because it's just too expensive of a round and I don't have license to reload. With .308 at least I can shoot cheap 7.62mm military rounds.
Buy an AR10 if you want to sling .308Keep bolts to 6.5 Sneed and the magnums like winmag preferably
>>65566655>AR10Verboten. All semiauto centerfire rifles are.
>>65566627Lmao do NOT buy a Mossberg rifle. They're actual trash. Why you would even consider paying $1800 for a chassis rifle that isn't even precise is beyond me. The CZ600 is reliable and they're known to shoot well. It's a no brainer. You won't give a shit about the mag capacity when you're actually using the gun.
>out of stockis buying a gun online not an option?
>>65566663No it's not really possible to buy guns online around here. Gun stores often don't even have webpages so you have to personally go and ask.
>>65566627>Mossbergdon'tt. hunts with one
>>65566627Savage 110 or Axis II Precision
>>65566690bleakalso chassis rifles are very heavy and really only good for bench shooting.
>>65566690so go and ask. Also order ammo, and mags and optics and whatever else you need and ask for discount and quite likely theyll give you one. Only downside is youll have to wait a while for the ordered gun to be deliveredwhat will it be for?
This one is in stock too. $1600. Could be an alternative.>>65566712>Axis II PrecisionOut of stock in .308 :(>>65566734That's what I did yesterday. They showed the Bergara HMR, Tikka T3, etc as in stock and they are not. Only thing actually in the rack was cheaper hunting rifles and really expensive ones. These 2 were the only mid-price ones.

With .308 at least I can shoot cheap 7.62mm military rounds.Compare the price of quality ammo. If you're wanting to shoot for precision, ammo is just as important as the rifle itself. Military ball will not get you there, especially at distance.

>>65566627I'd go for the CZ you posted or the Savage 110 that >>65566712 recommended. Many people buy Mossberg rifles and are dissatisfied with the QA/QC.
>>65566962yeah I'm 80% sure I'll be getting the CZ. The ability to change barrels sold it to me. Could get a 6.5 Creedmore once I'm authorised to reload.
Why are you contemplating spending nearly $2k on pleb tier guns? Either go the cheap route and buy a savage or something or save up a little longer and buy a quality rifle. Don’t waste your time with anything that isn’t a Remington 700 pattern action
>>65567264hmmmI could sell two of my PCP air rifles and just buy a Bergara HMR Pro or a Tikka T3x TACT A1. They are like $3000-3200 bucks tho.
>>65567309Is building something out of the question? You could buy a bighorn, defiance, ARC action for around $1k. It might cost you more in the long run but you could built it out over a longer period and spread out the cost.
>>65567335No it's a massive pain in the ass. Technically possible but extremely expensive due imports and bureaucracy.
>>65566627I was thinking of the CZ600 earlier this year but my localshop didnt want to sell me a CZ600+ because they still had the old ones in stock so I just ended up buying a sako s20 from another shop, if you can find that one they usually go below MSRP because boomers hate and wont buy them, mine was only like 150 euros more expensive than the CZit's heavy tho but the thumb design is mega comfy and it will shoot straight even if you can't shoot for shit
alright friends I finally decided on the CZ600 Range, I've called the shop and I'll be paying the deposit. Now I only have to get a pic rail and good rings. This begs me the question, is it better to get a full length rail, two piece rail bases or direct mount 34mm rings? Thanks a lot of the help, a classic gem as gift for you all. I hope once I receive it we can revive /prg/
>>65569069Does this not use the stupid dovetail mounts?
>>65569119No that's the rimfire models. The CZ 600 uses Rem700 pattern scope mounting.
