Do you think i could get gun companies to make a gun they already make in .30 super carry if i offer them a modest sum of money? I want a beretta 92 in .30 super carry with 3 mags, i would pay a modest sum of money for it and i figure what they could make .32 acp tooling work to make the barrel or something it cant be that hard
>>65567354You'd be better off going to a custom gunsmith. I, too, would appreciate more .30 SC guns, but I doubt Beretta USA is going to listen.
>>65567354Might have better luck with a Smith and Wesson since they already have mags for it. I'd like a full size duty pistol or a pdw in .30 supercarry but converting the EZ plus to full size might be easier if you can commission a larger barrel and upper.

>>65567354>modest sumNo, as >>65567379 said a gunsmith is the way to go but it'll cost a couple of grand minimum to get someone to design a working slide.
>>65567354Should just be a barrel swap + mags; since slide mass and recoil spring are good for cheap 115 9mm, they should also be GTG for .30 SC.The barrel is the hard part, but you'll probably have better luck talking to a gunsmith or barrel shop (bar-sto, kkm, etc.) than to Beretta. As for mags, you can probably do that yourself easier than finding someone to do it for you.It is likely easier to convert an existing .30 SC mag (presumably from the S&W Shield Plus; I believe that's the only double-stack option) to fit a different gun, than converting the correct 9mm mag to .30 SC, but both are within home workshop possibility.I have converted "double-stack" .45 mags to 10mm just reforming the feed lips; this worked because the mag body was already about the right width, with .45 staggered rather than properly double-stacked. Whereas 9mm to .30SC will likely require narrowing the mag body as well as feed lips.Converting the Shield Plus .30 SC mag for a different gun might be as simple as dremeling a different mag catch notch, provided the grip angle and feed geometry are close enough; the narrow top section is likely to provide ample clearance in other guns. Perhaps also gluing shims to the back and/or sides of the mag to fit snugly in a wider magwell.Oh, and do something with the floorplate of course, since it will be up inside the Beretta's grip. Which also highlights the downside of converting the Shield Plus mag -- you'll struggle to get much more than the Shield Plus's 16-round capacity.
>>65567586The magguts shield plus extensions work in the .30 sc mags, even though theyre "for" the 9mm mags. If i remember they take the 13 round mag to 17 rounds and the 16 round mags to 19
>>65567586>Should just be a barrel swap + mags; since slide mass and recoil spring are good for cheap 115 9mmYou have neglected to account for the smaller rim diameter of the 30 Super Carry cartridge. 30 SC is .344 vs 9mm at .392. You would need to machine a new slide.
>>65567694It'll probably be just fine. At most you might have to modify the extractor for a little more bite.Even if I'm wrong and it can't be made to work without a close-fitting boltface, for a one-off you'd silver-solder an insert into the current slide, rather than machining a new one from scratch.
