No, they're actually offering it to the USAF as the F-16G for new airframes built to a modern USAF Block 70/72 standard.It's a shit deal though, F-16s should be retired when the current fleet hits the end of airframe hour lifespan.If anything USAF should look at a jet trainer light attack conversion (F-7 based on the T-7A) because they're cheap to operate at like $10k/hr. That can handle 90% of domestic air police duties that F-16s currently do (for almost $30k/flight hour). If you want a fully combat capable 4.5th gen jet, buy more F-15EXs instead of more F-16s.
