20, if you’re primarily hunting you want baste muzzle velocity. Self defense is few and far between. Ideally two rifles would fill this role, or at the very least two uppers.

20", good enough for them to clear houses in fallujah & the best length for deer
realistically what you want though is going to be a 10.5" suppressed upper and then a 350 legend 20"-24" upper because necked catridge rifles arent allowed for hunting in a lot of states
personally id just suggest getting a 12 gauge over under for hunting, lets you do clay shooting, bird hunting, turkey hunting, and deer hunting. its about the best 'do it all' hunting gun you can get
id personally take my 12 gauge over any of my ARs for home defense too

Sketchy-ass Wish/ebay/alibaba "filters" are perfectly legal in much of Europe.
Yes, the sellers really do send these things out to the customers.
Most of them work well enough for .22s plinking guns, but they aren't suited to anything more serious than that.
Stay away from the chinesum mono-core "filters" with solid single-piece baffle stacks, those cost almost as much as real cans, but they suck ass compared to the real deal.

I was suggested the holosuns, but also told that the solar is a detriment, and all the rifle holosuns have the solar
>>
>>65578701
Solar is a detriment in that its one extra potential failure point, as is shake awake as it's unnecessary considering that red dot battery life averages well over 3 years across the board/every manufacturer. Go use a green dot during the day time in the woods instead of a flat range and you'll see why that's a bad idea too.

We cast netted for them over the past 2 weeks and are using those, so frozen. We saw a pod yesterday but have struck out on getting some fresh ones all weekend. The current has been so strong that 6oz under will just run you down the beach before you can put your rod back in a sand spike even if you set your weight against the dredge wall. Its calmed down over the past hour now that the tide is going back out but it's still tough fishing. I should have brought my sbr ar15 down to the beach because we've had a few sharks landed so far, which is always annoying.

Rhodie 6 or 6k
The 6J evidently is a hair louder than the 6k which is weird, and it is $100 more for being 1.5oz heavier also. Offensive.

Yeah that is what I saw from Rob Orgel here on Silencer Analytics on youtube. The fact that it is heavier is retarded. Shame because I would have been glad to pay a $100 and 1.5oz premium to get the KAC aesthetics if it at least sounded the same as the 6k
The fact that it is heavier AND louder AND more expensive... no thanks.
>higher back pressure
Honestly I want high back pressure cans these days. You know you're more likely to be getting the most suppression for the weight and form factor, and the additional operating system energy is useful for running FRT or SS systems... plus I have a hunch that higher back pressure systems approximate longer dwell time which allows for the gas and recoil impulse to be tuned for a less peaky longer duration smoother curve as a function of time rather than a short duration high peak impulse curve.
>>
>>65579923
You’re an ignorant person.
>>
>>65580196
I don't know about you, but if I'm buying a can with higher back pressure I want the increased sound suppression associated with it which you do not get with the 6J. To make something sound worse while having higher back pressure is garbage and ridgeback should go back to the drawing board with this one.

Yeah no that is exactly right I agree.
If it has higher back pressure AND somehow is louder... well idk what the fuck they did (they fucked up).

SiCo STM for example is same length as Jaguar Fatty (4.9" vs 5.1") but is lighter (13oz vs 14.5oz) and less diameter (1.75" OD vs 2.1" OD) but is quieter at muzzle, by a solid margin. It however is higher back pressure, but this is actually welcome because it helps ensure subsonic 300blk cycles etc.

Indeed. The furfag shitposting is organic. Always has been.
It's clearly not some organized campaign, or even a single schizo sitting at home with two dozen phones spamming furshit on /k/ because the voices in his head compel him to do so.

>>65580275
It was the hub version that I didn't love the look of, the UK looks fine and reminds me of B&T cans. I haven't shot either but handled both and really liked the size and weight. I don't need another 556 can and like plan b mounts, but the hesion bow MD and pawl lock up on the UK makes it tempting. I think the muzzle device itself is pulling a lot of weight, Id like to see a comparison of the UK and Hub version with a plan b brake.

Sorry not the hub version, it was the sixk I didn't like the look of. The 556 can looks fine. I have been mixed up on their lineup since launch for some reason.

But seriously where do you draw the line between flash can and tiny suppressor? How would you measure the two against each other, i.e. the most relevant metrics in your opinion? When does barrel length preclude a suppressor if ever and when does a suppressor become so small it stops being useful on the main platform itt which are 5.56 rifles

Well, I'm going to correct the record anyway. Shoenice actually believed zeroing the NFA tax would makes things worse because
1. there were technical errors in the GOA's update about it online so he thought the legislation was faulty or that they aren't competent as plaintiffs
2. it would inspire Democrats to adjust the tax for inflation ($3000) when they retake the Senate or House

ez tune gas tube, adjustable bolt carrier group (like a bootleg bcg), and adjustable gas block. everything else is bandaid.

Or you can get an actual low back pressure can like a Surefire rc4 mini/flow 556k.
>>
>>65580649
Basically a sopmod bravo?
Which is actually my choice.
>>
>>65580653
>bandaid
Gas busting charging handles do help but they are merely a single ingredient that must be combined with the rest for optimal results.
>>
>>65580634
You can not tune out gas stacking. Even if you tune the fuck out of a gun and are still using a traditional baffled can if you rapid fire the gas does not vacate the can fast enough and you get extra braps to your face. desu low backpressure suppressors have gotten good enough to the point where I don't even bother with using my polonium k any more.

>>
>>65580665
>I prefer to keep things simple
Buy an rc4, kac crs-3 or a rhodie 6 instead of tuning the gun.
>>
>>65580664
This might be a dumb question but is a “low back pressure suppressor” an actual designation or is it just a regular suppressor that just has low back pressure?
I was looking at some suppressors by ridgeback and some of them will say “back pressure: low” or something along those lines but I’m wondering if that’s just low in relative terms and not necessarily because it’s a “low back pressure suppressor”.
>>
>>65580665
then get a rc4 mini and call it a day
>>
>>65580671
there is no industry standard measurement for what "low" or reduced backpressure it. it's based in the design.

the only true zero/low backpressure cans are ones like the flow 556k, rc4, b&t print sc, these normally only have 5-10% max increased bolt cycle rate.

A normal traditional baffle suppressor would have an increase of 20-50% depending, it's quite a big difference, watch some videos where they compare the bolt cycle rate that is a good measurement of telling you how much gas it actually reduces in raw number terms.

sometimes you can see the actual number on capitolarmory depending on the suppressor they might say "only 5% increased backpressure"
>>
>>65580671
I think ridgeback's labeling of something as low back pressure is just relative to their product line. Their cans are hybrid designs that should not impact function much but aren't as low back pressure as something like a huxwrx which is fine. I think for ARs the hybrid designs are better since you still get acceptable sound reduction unlike something like a huxwrx.
>>

>>
>>65580678
see>>65580215
Wuggy fucking hates his
>>
>>65580676
Hmmm, I feel like a usable industry measurement for back pressure might be a combination of bolt velocity which could be relatively easily measured, and maybe recoil impulse
>>
>>65580677
Are you saying these lower back pressure suppressors tend to not reduce the sound as good?
Sorry if I misunderstand.
>>
>>65580686
As a whole they tend to be louder at the muzzle but quieter to the shooter due to reduced port pop but there are tons of variations in designs so it isn't always so straight forward.

He does backpressure testing by seeing which setting a gun locks back on using an adjustable gas block. Same guy just different channels.

They're much easier to use. You kind of have to find the dot in your night vision. Obviously you train for it which is what I'm working on now, but my eotech didn't need much training for night vision use. I'm thinking that even having the outer ring around the dot helps in dot + target acquisition.
