>338 ARC
Is it really already dead? Did Kevin actually win? I just wanted to make a bolt action AR SBR in this now that the NFA is kill. 300 Blackout is fine, but I find its performance lacking, and I also don't like its explicit relation to rap music and its associated culture and people.

What do I do? Will I regret spending ~$600 on a bolt action upper for this?

>338 ARC
>Is it really already dead?
No. Hornady keeps it alive as they do all their ARC, Creedmoor, and PRC cartridges.
>Did Kevin actually win?
Kind of. He is very good at marketing so when he copied the .300 Whisper to make .300 BLK he made tons of money which he uses in marketing to sell his other stuff.
>I just wanted to make a bolt action AR SBR in this now that the NFA is kill.
Okay.
>I also don't like its explicit relation to rap music and its associated culture and people.
Just think about US SF units shooting terrorists in the back of their heads as they slept instead.
>What do I do?
Whatever you want.
>Will I regret spending ~$600 on a bolt action upper for this?
Only you can answer that. If you won't shoot it, then the answer is yes. If you do shoot it, then you'll probably enjoy it (warning: the ammo is a bit pricey).

What is the point of this meme round?
If its some sub sonic shit use subload .308
If its some intermediate^2 just man up
>>
>>65578429
It's just meme'ing a little harder than 300aac.

Just do this then it doesn't matter what meme cartridge you dickride next, just have them spin you a barrel for it

Says a guy who's never ever killed anything with a gun.

NTA. .300 BLK has a well-known issue of ice-picking through a target. Having more energy than 5.56 is pointless if the round leaves through an exit wound, having retained that energy. Some people want more yawing and tumbling.

Hollow points exist.

>spend 5x as much on meme ammo that still performs worse than 55gr
grim
>>
>>65580301
>Hollow points exist.
I am aware, and .300 BLK hollow points are still leaving less impressive wound channels than other intermediate cartridges.

Isn't .300 BLK basically just a western version of 7.62x39 which has the exact same issues?
>>
>>65580353
>Isn't .300 BLK basically just a western version of 7.62x39
Sort of .300 BLK is optimized to shoot out of 8"-12" carbines, while 7.62x39 was optimized for 16" rifles. This means .300 BLK carbines outperform 7.62x39 carbines slightly and 16" rifles in 7.62x39 slightly outperform .300 BLK in 16" rifles.
>7.62x39 which has the exact same issues?
Yes.

>>65577904
Do what you want. Who cares what that fag kevin or anyone else says
>>
>>65580280
There are a huge variety of blackout sized 308 bullets that expand quite nicely
>>65580321
TAC-TX just explodes in shit idk what your doing wrong
>>65580353
>>65580379
Blackout has a much wider variety of bullets available than x39, especially in subsonic expanding form. You can load most of the blackout supers in x39 but you run into COAL limitations since blackout projectiles are a bit longer and have a different ogive

If only there was a way to make a bullet that deformed easily and/or expanded at subsonic velocities. What we'd need is some kind of metal that's both soft enough to do this and is dense enough to carry a decent amount of energy. Somewhere around 11.34 g/cm3 would do. In a perfect world, it would have a melting point low enough to allow for people to cast their own bullets at home.

But that's silly. If a metal like that existed, the entire world would have spent the last 500 years making bullets out of it. Hell, they'd probably still be making bullets out of it today.
>>
>>65580952
Oh wow, let's ignore that. 300 BLK has the tendency to ice-pick because lead ammo exists. Gee, I wonder if they make lead ammo for any other cartridge? Oh wait, they do. Thanks for your non-answer.

Don't know about .300BLK, but 7.62x39 performs well enough, even if doesn't fragment like 5.56 does out of a 20" barrel
>>
Can someone explain to me why blacks start using something whites will immediately pose a full scale retreat from that thing with no resistance?
>>
>>65581037
Honest answer? Rightwing virtue signaling.
>>
>>65580997
Ask me how I know that you've never shot an unjacketed bullet into a soft target before, nogunz.
>>
>>65577904
another new bullet. I could not possibly buy another gun, rifle setup, and those bullets fast enough. But I'll just sit here instead
>>
>>65581037
I think niggers got turned onto 300 BLK because of cheap "ARPs" being sold in the hood. PSA, Anderson, Bear Creek Arsenal, etc. made cheapo 7.5" 300 BLK uppers that niggers slap on an FRT'd pistol lower with Amazon optics and backwards mounted Amazon BUIS and try to sell to other niggers.

Somebody just harvested a 400lb brown bear with 280gr subs
