Need a mine that does this
Mine penis does that to your mom.
A cratering charge?
>>65578754Why? if you want to pen the thin bottom armour of tanks just use a shaped charge. The only reason some missiles bother doing this is fortifications, dams and bridges can be very hard targets, nothing that can move is that strong.
>>65578775Because mines can't be distracted by smokescreens, idiot
>>65579295Neither can GPS guided missiles.
>>65579295fake ass AI alop

I vaguely remember one of the weapons donated early in the war was some sort of anti-tank/vehicle mine that might have been artillery-fired (I genuinely can't remember, it's been years), a few of these things would flutter down on little fold out wings while sensors looked around for targets. As soon as a target was found and in range they'd turn towards them and detonate; they were shaped charges and for a second it almost looked like blasting a giant laser beam at the targeted vehicle.Does anyone else remember this or is it a false memory from some weird dream I've had?
>>65581068Do you mean the CBU-97 (or its precision version CBU-105)? That's been in use since Kosovo.
>>65581075Yeah, that's it! Whatever happened to these things? I remember /k/ getting real excited about them a few years back (and also sad that they weren't made available for the 40 Mile Convoy)
>>65578754>Storm Shadow mineI'd counter with a Snake Eyes diffuser.
>>65578754This only works against concrete not steel armor. Shaped charge doesn't make hole enough to warhead pass through, but in case of concrete hole in the concrete massively reduces it's resistance to kinetic penetration warhead, not so much if its steel plate.
>>65578754Nasty
>>65581275Tanks sisters, our response?
>>65581068If it was an artillery shell then look up BONUS. Not a mine but a submunition that scans the ground and whacks an EFP slug through the roof of any tank it finds.
>>65578775>Why>shaped charge mine penetrates the tank and thats it>explosive is pushed inside the tank>crew and tank insides are liquefied so they are definitive loses for the enemy
>>65581120I have no idea what's happening in 6 and 7
>>65581416
>>65581505I can tell that it's spinning, I just don't understand the part where it turns into a quadcopter and offers a selection of ties
>>65581573After the subminition spins up and gains a little altitude it releases bomblets. Each bomblet has a visual sensor which scans while it's spinning (nutating really) in a cone beneath the bomblet. It looks for shapes of vehicles and when one is identified is blows toward it
>>65581573The first images shows the entire canister. The canister contains many submunitions. 6 shows the submunitions leaving the canister. 7 shows the submunitions sensors doing sensor things. The illustration is pretty bad if you aren't familiar with the concept already.
