Is there any tactical situation in which 22lr would be useful?
>>65578809When you need gun and don't have one. When you need gun and don't like recoil. When you need gun and don't want loud noises. When you need gun and don't have a lot of money. When you need gun and don't have your driver's license.
yes, in the case where you don't have anything other than .22 longreddit
>>65578809When you need gun and are a retarded faggot like op.
>>65578809Didn't the Israelis use an integrally suppressed 10/22 for some stuff?
>>65578821Yeah, sniping kids.
>>65578824Well that's definitely some stuff. Did the 10/22s do the job though?
>>65578829Of course, it's a good rifle.
>>65578809A moderized American-180 would unironically be pretty good for door kickers.Push the mag capacity over 400 and the ROF around 1000 RPM and now prefiring leaves vidia and enters the real world as a viable tactic.
>>65578858This. Suppressing fire!
>>65578815>.22 longredditNogunz, probably because underage.Nobody who actually shoots doesn't appreciate .22.
>>65578824There is a growing need for this in America so thank goodness the nfa is being defeated rn
owning your own land, suppressed 22lr is still pretty lethal for everything you'd encounter in North America and it allows for you to easily do pest control on your land without spooking the liberal richfag neighbors with a hobby farm 3 miles over.
>>65578809Tactical noNormal life yes
>>65578809In the Cold War it was used for assassinations. While it's not the caliber you want if you're getting shot at, you can use it to take out an unsuspecting target.>>65578941>Nobody who actually shoots doesn't appreciate .22.NTA. OP isn't asking about appreciating. 22, he's asking if there is any use for it in tactical situations. Don't move the goalpost.
>>65578809>>65578858A 10/22 with a binary or an FRT and wouldn't be the worst home defense gun, similar to an American 180. Not sure how well those GSG drums actually work (iirc the Promag drums are shit) but even then, not every gun needs a "tactical" role. Sometimes it's just fun to shoot shit in your backyard.
If you're evading hostile occupying forces by way of hiding innawoods and need a weapon that is quiet, has very lightweight ammo, and can be used to shoot small game as well as quietly take out small numbers/individuals before running away. Of course, using 22lr in a firefight means dumping at least 5 rounds into someone's dick or head. Great aim or not, one single 22lr round will most likely not be fatal, and you don't want the enemy being able to report back to their superiors.Would also probably not be awful in a home invasion. You could shoot 22lr inside unsuppressed and not go deaf, and you'd almost invariably be able to have a higher magazine capacity than your almost-certainly unarmored assailant.
>>65579109That's why I use a .50 BMG for coyote control. Because fuck em.>wah wah wah I'm gonna file a noise complaintlol that's the sheriff over there setting up targets go say hi!
>>65579737You think you're getting close enough to use .22lr, in the era of drones and cheap thermals? That's hilarious.
>>65579993>Retarded thirdie doesn't even understand what the terms "occupation" and "home invasion" meanYou have to go back
>>65579986>lol that's the sheriff over there setting up targets go say hi!based.
>>65580034Ah right, occupation is when there's a movie and you win because you're the good guy :), thermals aren't allowed neither are drones, I forgot. Thanks for educating me on how nogunz see the world.
>>65579993Wouldn't bother shooting at a drone. And who says I wouldn't have thermals?
>>65580100Are you pretending?
>>65580164Thermals aren't hard to make or purchase. Every military force in the world still uses foot patrols. Drones aren't the godlike weapon you seem to believe them to be.
>>65579993>>65580053>thirdie posting
>>65580226ESL retard.>>65580198The point is the occupying force has thermals you illiterate retard nigger. No, you're not getting into .22lr range you subhuman faggot. Holy shit this is the dumbest larp ever.
>>65578809>all enemy forces are armed with a 10/22don't like like you would be scared
>>65580100NTA. I'm answering on the extremely slim chance you aren't trolling him. In a modern conflict, your opponent can kill you from 10-15 km away with a thermal drone. You won't ever get in range to take him out with a .22 LR; at the beginning of the Ukraine conflict, most small arm kills came from sniper rifles and DMRs, you'd be wishing to have a .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor at the bare minimum; later in the conflict as the trenches were built, most small arm kills came from carbines, all those 10.3", 11.5", 12.5", and 14.5" rifle users were getting their 15 minutes of fame. However, both those facts don't change that the number of small arms deaths was minimal compared to explosives, vehicle warfare, indirect fire, etc. The other guy, >65580034, doesn't seem to understand that WW2 partisan tactics wouldn't be as effective in a modern occupation either.
>>65579993Anon we have seen knife kills in trench raids filmed by drones.
>>65580373And what relevance do you suppose that has? Think about it for five seconds.Does a trench raid where you pin down the enemy with fire superiority and drones, then kill the survivors in close quarters have anything at all to do with a lone partizan guerilla in the woods pretending red dawn is real? Why are midwits utterly obsessed with trying to compare two things that are in no way similar? >b-buh they both close range that means it's the same thing
>>65578829Of course, they're little kids.
Back of the head
>>6557880920 squirrels
>>65580270Only tiny little mini-nations are small enough for generalized drone surveillance to be realistic. And only Western/NATO countries are realistically wealthy enough to equip thermals on those generalized surveillance drones. If either of those conditions is untrue, then the "muh drones" nonsense falls apart immediately.
>>65581316they don't need full drone coverage, they just need drones accompanying infantry manuevering innawoods for whatever reason they'd even be there. All it takes is one chink thermal and your larp is finished before it even started.
>>65578824Shooting kids or people with self-control of one is what you usually end up doing.

>>65584858I mean on the one hand it's probable they knew full well .22lr would kill lots of people they wanted dead and they could say "oopsie :3" until the global backlash got too bad.On the other, military leadership is really, really fucking stupid and I wouldn't actually be surprised if a bunch of generals were like ".22lr? That's like, a kids toy, it won't kill anyone"
>>65584879>I mean on the one hand it's probable they knew full well .22lr would kill lots of people they wanted dead and they could say "oopsie :3" until the global backlash got too bad.Yes.>On the other, military leadership is really, really fucking stupid and I wouldn't actually be surprised if a bunch of generals were like ".22lr? That's like, a kids toy, it won't kill anyone"I promise you this is not the case. Whatever Israel does to Palestinians is fully intentional. Whatever the Palestinians do to Israel is also fully intentional (they didn't put their AA guns near hospitals and schools by accident). I don't care which side you support; they are both actively escalating whenever they can, not deescalating.
