Does anywhere sell a good durable spear?

It's amazing to me how many places sell spears which are fragile and just for looks.

A long bar of pointy metal is cool, but realistically something like wood and metal so it's not ridiculously heavy.

Pretty sure kult of athena sells battle ready spears for hema and shit

KoA seems cool, thank you! Still open to other suggestions as well, but KoA is great to learn about. Thank you.

KoA seems to make good spearheads, the reviews on the wood don't seem great. So maybe good for a spearhead and then DIY a pole.

The really incredible thing about spears is that you can make your own quite easily
You don't even need a metal spear head if that's too difficult for you, just carve a point into the end of a stick and harden it with fire like your ancestors did

Rednecks kill thousands of hogs yearly with spears and the vast majority are using Cold Steel spears they got from Amazon.
>>
It's really hard to get the right kind of wood, it has to be a very light wood that's seasoned.

Weapons are so light as to be semi disposable. It only takes one thrust to kill someone so having a lighter spear is a life or death kind of thing. The Romans adopted ultra light pilums, the greeks had throwing javelins.

I recommend coppiced hazel, but it has to grow slowly and be dried very carefully.

If you plan to use them for more than poking a white boy in his cage before cooking him in a big cauldron you're gonna need a heavier duty construction
>>
Spearheads seem like a diamond dozen, but getting a good shaft and affixing it to combat spec seems like a task unto itself.
>>

Why would you use it for anything else?

The only people in the entire western world who kill anything significant with spears are hog hunters whose stock Cold Steel shafts and spearheads work just fine, everyone talking about renaissance fair LARP garbage has never used one in their entire lives.
>>
>>65582395
just buy a pig hunting spearhead and attach a piece of wood of your choice. Then you actually get to trust the shaft you've chosen.

You act as if the Romans and Greeks didn't have heavier spears used as primary, non-expendable weapons
>>
>>65582395
Just buy a good spear tip and get a 6' to 8' dowel rod from a lumber store and shape an end until þe head fits it.

Where does one even find a dual English/Icelandic keyboard?
>>
>>65584812
On PC I use þe ALT codes every time.
On phone you just have to go to options and turn on þe expanded symbols toggle.

ALT+0254 = þ (lower case)
ALT+0222 = Þ (Upper Case)

I figured as much, either that or you had one of those keyboards where every key was a tiny LED screen or a touch screen keyboard.

While i have you here; where i live it is really cheap to fly there for a weekend, how expensive are hotels in Reykjavík?

This. You save a ton on shipping plus you get to choose your shaft exactly how you want it with wood shafts from Home Depot. Even if you suck initially, you will get better at it. Maybe do other kinds of polearms or really fancy custom carvings on the shaft.

Man, I don't know. I live in Indiana. I just really fucking hate þe French, Germans, & Dutch for conspiring to steal a good letter from þe English alphabet.
