Soldier Borne Mission Command is the new instantiation of IVAS after it was canceled following version 1.2. Three companies and in the running for the contract, Anduril, Rivet, and Twenty-six defense (Elbit America). We get the first look at Elbit's design today. Anduril seems to be regressing on digital nightvision/thermal fusion compared to their previous prototypes (likely related to new requirements of Shroud mounting to existing helmets). Rivet the start up seems to be in a slightly better but similar position to Elbit. Discuss.
>>65583970Anduril's falloff, their old integrated new helmet and armor was badass but now the shroud mount requirement, separate computer and batteries killed it, looks like dogshit now

>>65583977Anduril's newest version of their bad ass integrated helmet and armor that likely wont be allowed
>>65583970Startup Rivet entry that uses existing helmets similar to Elbit design slightly larger and less aesthetic IMO. Glasses can be worn without helmet.

>>65583970Elbit is being annoying releasing only low light pictures. Hard to tell the size of the sensors between the two dark pictures they have released.
>>65584024Best photo I have seen of "Primex" from Elbit america
>>65583989I appreciate their attempts to make it as proto-Halo like as possible
>>65583970Elbit America video i edited down of the Primex system. Webm converter doesnt render dark details too well.
I can see this stuff being a game changer for smaller unit actions and SOF style raids and all that, but I think their stumbling by trying to make this a general issue piece of gear as opposed to a more restricted/special issue piece. Realistically, trying to get hundreds of guys to carry these, maintain them and not break the damn things is a fairly hopeless effort, not until the technology catches up and they become as easy to work with as NVGs are now, and guys are still breaking the shit out of those and losing them every 5 minutes. And I could imagine a scenario where unit I/Cs get very reliant on the HUD tech to CC their squads, and begin to lose track and control of their guys when shit starts breaking down.I think the key that will unlock this tech for broader use has to be battery tech right? Cut way down on the complexity and weight.
>>65583977>>65583980At least the sensors in the thermal/digital night vision in the new worse EagleEye package appears really high quality.
>>65584208Andrul's digital night vision on the left and analogue tubes on the right.
>>65584178non FPV style drone control from ground elements will be game changing in XR/AR vs goggles or a screen. Live drone feed in your bottom right peripheral vision will make our soldiers extremely lethal
>>65583970First look at the UI and software side of twenty-six defense (elbit america). Looks like thermal overlay, compass degrees up top, red and blue hostile dot markings, minimap, and drone feed
