Not over-pressure issues but Glock budget range pickup brass that needed a Lee undersized die.

I had to adjust the feed ramp but everything is running like it should now. Getting some peening on the firing pin because the hammer isn't quite tall enough so trying to source a taller hammer. Failing that I'll just get one cut from SCS, but that would be semi-disposable since I don't have a way to harden it right now.

Honestly considering the Springfield Kuna with the tri-lug mount. I already have a Springfield Echelon so I think the two will pair really well together.
I've been looking at suppressors and stocks for a bit now, wanting to build a short barrel PCC for home defense now that the NFA is gutted.
I bought an ACE picatinny rail stock and I'm looking around now for a suppressor that comes with a tri-lug mount (or at least has one available to buy).
Any suppressor suggestions?

>>
>>65596480
You have a point there! I never used an FRT, how does it feel? Does it work pretty reliably?
>>
>>65596727
>how does it feel?
You can feel the trigger moving forward and back, many people don't mind it but a few hate the "trigger slap." Furthermore, you have to pull the trigger with a specific amount of force because if you squeeze too hard, then it won't simulate full-auto, you'll just get 1 shot. Pull it too softly, and you won't get the rate of fire you want. All of these things combined make it feel like the FRT is fighting the bolt rather than cooperating with it.
>Does it work pretty reliably?
Not as much as full-auto, but definitely a lot more reliable than bump firing. I already mentioned the user-induced malfunction if you squeeze too hard, so let's talk about durability instead. The plastic ones people are 3D-printing are prone to snapping (so if you plan on adding one to your range toy, make sure to build multiple so you can swap out the broken one and insert another); the metal ones people are buying are more durable. Assuming you get one from a reputable company, it shouldn't snap inside your gun.
>>
>>65596966
Mmm, well I concede it's probably better than nothing in terms of trying to make an SMG, especially with the whole no longer needing approval or anything for it to be a true SBR, I'd be more into it though if the reliability issues and inherent improper use malfunctions were fixed.
>>
>>65592561
What a hideously constructed sentence. That is a Deerstalker.
>>
>>65596974
Ideally, all these fast-fire devices become common enough that the country realizes the full-auto ban is pointless. Criminals get switches and full-auto FCUs but law-abiding citizens have had to deal with garbage like bump stocks will never make sense.

Yeah but the judge that ruled on suppressors in Texas and the current ATF director that announced they wouldn't enforce the requirements were both put in place by Trump. Think of all the unconstitutional bullshit the ATF has done over the years with lawsuit after lawsuit dragging on for fucking years, I truly feel like the only reason shit moved so fast on former tax stamp shit is because the people in their positions were actually based and acted lawfully.

Shorter and lighter than an AR, so easier to carry/maneuver and much better for things like going through doors in an indoor home defense scenario.
Can be fired indoors without a suppressor without absolutely BTFOing your ears, making it even shorter for going through doors than an AR, which will need to be suppressed indoors.
9mm ammo is cheap AF.
Consider a PCC that takes Glock mags. Put a mag-holding foregrip on it. You now have 66 rounds waiting for intruders. This is a pretty good home defense option. Is an individual round from it going to be as devastating as a 5.56 round? No. But you have fucking 66 of them. If four motherfuckers invade your home, you have enough rounds for all four of them and then some.
>>
>>65597281
Not nearly as compelling an argument as the other guy talkin about FRTs.

It might be lighter than an AR, shorter? Not really in most circumstances, and even if it was shorter, how much shorter we talking? What tangible benefit does that give you over an AR? Same with lighter, in a home defense situation weight isn't an issue beyond a certain point, not like you're trying to carry the thing for miles. An AR15 is already light as fuck assuming you don't have 20 magnifiers on it. In either case you REALLY outta have some ear pro nearby, firing a PCC indoors isn't gentle on your ears by any means.

The 66 rounds isn't all that impressive if you can just have any number of jungle mag devices on your AR for 60, not that I actually even advocate for that honestly, but it's an option.

I just can't reconcile the fact it's still a pistol round, what you see is what you get, even soft armor can defeat it. Now I admit fully we're splitting hairs, do I think you're going to die in a home defense situation cuz you have a PCC? No, I just think it's generally suboptimal for any practical purposes, which in my eyes makes it a range toy, which is great I'm all for that.

But still a range toy.
>>
>>65597328
>>65597281
If I live in an apartment should I go PCC, shotgun, or stick with my AR?
>>
>>65597328
You can get a very short PCC with an FRT and a suppressor these days that will dump 30 rounds of 9mm in two seconds with subsonic HPs. I'm a GWOT era Muhreen vet that came up on 20in full blown M16s and I'm not reaching for an AR indoors at this point ever again. But you do you.
>>
>>65597332
depends on loading and barrier but 9mm ball will pen further than 5.56 since 5.56 will fragment and tumble IIRC. Personally I will pick a PCC over a shotgun or rifle since if you ever shot in an indoor range you’ll know why. A shorty 5.56 is fucking loud, I believe in the military people were getting concussions from firing them unsuppressed - the blast was giving them concussions. Shotguns (18 inch) surprisingly are not as bad as a shorty 10 inch 5.56. I’d get a suppressor as well.

PCCs also are more common in competition while matches that allow 5.56 are more rare.
>>
>>65597352
That's the other thing I was considering. If I stick with my rifle or get a PCC I want a can and even then I know it's not going to be good for my ears.
>>
>>65597328
>firing a PCC indoors isn't gentle on your ears by any means.
Yeah but it's not gonna absolutely BTFO your ears or give you a concussion like >>65597352 mentioned.
>shorter? Not really in most circumstances
Yes, tons of PCCs will be shorter than the average unsuppressed 10.5 inch barrel AR-15, which you absolutely do not want to be shooting indoors.
>What tangible benefit does that give you over an AR?
For one, maneuverability, especially going through doors. But are you really asking me what tangible benefit a shorter gun gives you in a close-quarters home defense situation?
>The 66 rounds isn't all that impressive if you can just have any number of jungle mag devices on your AR for 60
I wasn't really trying to claim the 66 rounds thing is an advantage over an AR. Just saying... it's enough for pretty much any home defense situation you'll ever end up in.

A suppressed PCC with subsonic rounds will be pretty fucking quiet. Not Hollywood quiet, obviously, but you're gonna be able to communicate with 911/law enforcement afterwards.
Outdoors, above setup won't even cause ear ringing.
9mm 147 grain hollowpoints are a good option for a suppressed PCC. The terminal ballistics of these heavy subsonic rounds aren't affected much by PCC barrels, which are longer than the rounds are designed to be fired through. Lighter rounds like 115 grain hollowpoints can do funny things out of PCCs like actually overexpand and thus underpenetrate, or even fragment.
>>
>>65597446
Part of me wants to go .45 suppressed pcc but I have a feeling 9mm will be sufficient.
>>
>>65597371
>>65597446
Conversely, a suppressed AR-15 is still gonna be loud as shit indoors.
>>
>>65597453
Consider ammo cost too.
Being able to train with cheap 9mm ball ammo is a huge plus. It makes it more likely that you'll train more often, and that's super important.
>>
>>65597453
>I have a feeling 9mm will be sufficient.
It will. Plus, if you get, say, a roller delayed blowback PCC in 9mm, the absolute fucking lack of recoil will be sexy as fuck and fun as shit to shoot.

>>65597459

>>65597454

>>
>>65597476
Outdoors*
>>
>>65597332
AR, at those distances anything is going through the walls, plus as >>65597352 mentioned there's evidence from shit like the box of truth that showed 9mm can sometimes pen even further than 5.56.

>>65597350
That's cool, you're not the only one with military service under your belt so I take what you say with a grain of salt, having shot M4s indoors with ear pro on its not an issue, and having shot my M9 indoor WITHOUT earpro on, its way louder than you want.

>>65597406
If it's short, get a suppressor, you've read the news lately I'm assuming. Also, earpro earpro earpro, you don't want to be using any of that shit indoors without earpro, even suppressed.

>For one, maneuverability, especially going through doors.
Can you show me a practical example where having a short PCC is more beneficial to an intermediate caliber SBR determined success vs failure in some kind of shooting scenario?

>it's enough for pretty much any home defense situation you'll ever end up in.
Sure, but I mean, having a fucking revolver with target loads is going to put you at an advantage, statistically speaking, in terms of winning a gun fight. Most gun fights end without shots even being fired lol.
>>
>>65597486
>Also, earpro earpro earpro
Yeah, because you're always going to have time to put earpro on in a home defense situation.
And also, fuck being able to gain information on the position of your home invaders via sound. That's for pussies.
Are you retarded?
>Can you show me a practical example where having a short PCC is more beneficial to an intermediate caliber SBR determined success vs failure in some kind of shooting scenario?
So you're really actually insisting on asking what tangible benefit a shorter gun gives you in a close-quarters home defense situation.
Are you retarded?
>>
PCCfags, have any of you used the MWI MP5K suppressor handguard? Not really a fan of the AR MLOK everywhere styling, but having some extra room for a longer grip on the gun seems nice, especially since the can is going to make the OAL longer anyways.
>>65597476
I didn't quite get ear ringing but yeah my silenced 12in SBR is loud as hell. Funny enough I've never actually shot it unsuppressed so I have no idea how concussive/loud it is normally.
>>
>>65597507
>Yeah, because you're always going to have time to put earpro on in a home defense situation.
Bro how long does it take you to throw earmuffs on. Sounds like a training issue on your part.

You REALLY sound nogunz and I'm not even going to tell you why lol.

>So you're really actually insisting on asking what tangible benefit a shorter gun gives you in a close-quarters home defense situation
No, I'm asking you to show me in a side by side comparison a short AR vs a short PCC where one scenario was successful and the other was a failure because the PCC was half a pound and a couple inches shorter than an alright light and short as fuck AR.
Protip, you will never find it, because it doesn't exist, you are splitting hairs so finely there is no evidence that supports your insane claim.
>>
This nigga is actually saying always use earpro for home defense and is actually denying that a shorter gun is advantageous in close-quarters combat.
>>
>>65597455
Exactly. To me the 9mm AR15 is just a cheap training platform. Its a nice toy.
I wouldnt actually use it in a defensive or war fighting situation.
>>
>>65597520
>Bro how long does it take you to throw earmuffs on. Sounds like a training issue on your part.
Seconds, but seconds can be the difference between life and death in a home defense situation. Alternately, you could just use something that isn't retardedly loud like an AR-15 indoors.
>You REALLY sound nogunz and I'm not even going to tell you why lol.
Yes, active earpro exists. There are still many better things you could be doing with the seconds required to put it on in a home defense situation.
It's a stupid extra step that could get you killed.
>>
>>65597543
>Seconds, but seconds can be the difference between life and death in a home defense situation
More like one second, literally the time it takes for you to pick up your gun you can have your earpro on if you co-locate. At any rate sure, there does exist an insanely tiny margin where one extra second is the difference, to which I'll ask, do you have a practical example of this?

>Alternately, you could just use something that isn't retardedly loud like an AR-15 indoors
Or you could just have a suppressor like normal, have you seen the news lately?

>Yes, active earpro exists. There are still many better things you could be doing with the seconds required to put it on in a home defense situation.

That 5.56mm has better terminal perfomance with certain loads over anything else.

Nigga you ain't grabbing earpro, putting it on and getting a good seal with it in one second in a high adrenaline situation. That's not happening.

As has already been established, a suppressed AR-15 is still loud AF indoors.

Which MP5 clone make the most sense to buy as a host for an FRT and suppressor? The SP5 is the obvious choice but the HK tax makes it the least desirable. How are the PTR 9ct and the Century AP5 in comparison? It seems like the PTR cannot take FRTs due to the lower geometry and the ap5 doesn't ship with a railed handguard or have a rail for optics making it more expensive to bring up to modern standards it also needs modification to fit FRTs apparently as well unless there are FRTs I am unaware of that are comparable with these in their factory configuration.

>draw time from holster slowed because your hands are shaking

These are all very real things that can happened to trained people because of adrenaline. Even trained people are human and subject to the physical effects of human hormones.
All of these are valid concerns when evaluating the possibilities that can occur in hypothetical defense scenarios.
>>
>>65598695
Brother if you can't put earmuffs on due to adrenaline how the fuck are you going to operate a handgun? The problem with your argument is there's literally thousands of examples of people doing complex tasks in high stress environments every fucking day. It is a training issue and you do not train.
>>
>>65598722
Like I said, it's a very real possibility for any one of us here that adrenaline can make our aim suck.
>It is a training issue and you do not train.
Yeah bro. Shooting at the range is totally the same as responding to a home intruder. Totally the same adrenaline spike.
>>
>>65598732
>The problem with your argument is there's literally thousands of examples of people doing complex tasks in high stress environments every fucking day. It is a training issue and you do not train.
You recognize that a home invader is in your home. Your brain recognizes this as a considerably more dangerous life-or-death scenario than, say, driving a car on the freeway or flying an airplane. Yes, those things are literally life-or-death scenarios, as one mistake and you can die, but the relative danger is obviously much lower, and your brain knows this.
Your brain knows that a home invader in your home is very fucking high on the list of most dangerous life-or-death scenarios. It responds with an accordingly strong fight-or-flight response and an accordingly strong shot of adrenaline into your system. Your system, obviously, is going to have more adrenaline flowing through it in this scenario than when you are driving a car or flying a plane.
The only way to train for operating consistently with this much adrenaline in your system is to regularly train while literally being in significant mortal danger. This is obviously not practical for most people to do.

That's because only 3 of the 9 are pro-gun, 3 are extremely anti-gun, and the other 3 go either way on the issue. Reminder that a president is supposed to only choose 1 justice during his presidency; Trump was extremely lucky to be able to pick 2.

Can adrenaline reduce aiming performance? Sure, is it going to PREVENT YOU FROM PUTTING ON EARMUFFS? Maybe if you're actually retarded. Like, this is such an incredibly basic action lol, it's like opening a door or pulling a trigger, it literally requires you to hold an object and put it over your ears lol.

If military pilots can train to, under stress, operate everything they need to in order to be successful, I think you can put a fucking glorified hat on during a stressful situation. Legitimately what mental illness do you have? This is the only way adrenaline is going to make you so fucking useless you can't hold objects and place them on your head lol. How do you expect to hold a fucking gun, turn a doorknob, walk, or move your eyes if the stress is wrecking you so fucking hard you can't place an object on your head?
>>
>>65598889
>Like, this is such an incredibly basic action
And it's very well-documented that your shaking hands can fuck up incredibly basic actions when a shitload of adrenaline is coursing through your body.
>How do you expect to hold a fucking gun, turn a doorknob, walk, or move your eyes if the stress is wrecking you so fucking hard you can't place an object on your head?
I never said adrenaline will make it so you CAN'T put earpro on. It can, absolutely, however, make it take longer to do so. You may briefly fumble the earpro. It may take a little longer than normal to get a good seal. These moments may be important in a life or death scenario.
>>
>>65598918
>And it's very well-documented that your shaking hands can fuck up incredibly basic actions when a shitload of adrenaline is coursing through your body.
Yeah, that's why you train you absolute retard lol. Again, your hypothetical has no actual real life analogy, you're arguing for a situation where taking, and I'll give you this, maybe a FEW seconds is literally the difference between you being dead or not, in this case, pick up your gun first, put on your earpro, and then go. OR just have a suppressed gun and suddenly you have a rifle that goes through soft armor and has twice the likelihood of a one stop shot. Not sure what your brain is unable to figure out.
>>
>>65598996
Training does not stop your body from producing hormones or those hormones from making your hands shake.
>OR just have a suppressed gun and suddenly you have a rifle that goes through soft armor
A suppressed AR-15 really shouldn't be fired indoors without earpro.

Yeah, let's not. This whole discussion up to this point has been unsuppressed PCCs vs Suppressed AR15s / Using earpro with AR15s. This whole "BUT WHAT IF SUBSONIC, BUT WHAT IF SUPPRESSED PCC" is new because your retarded ass is backed into a corner. Using a suppressed AR15, or using earpro with it is fine and it gives you way better energy to deal with a threat, or penetrate armor. I'm not saying you can't use a PCC I'm saying it is what it is, short of fully automatic fire it has glaring shortcomings vs using an intermediate cartridge and everything outside of the FRT argument is just splitting the finest of hairs to try to brute force an imaginary scenario where your option is actually superior.

It's not, get over it.

I guess it really comes down to your preference on overall length, stock/brace options and aesthetics? I scored a pretty good deal on my ottoman K and it's super fun to shoot. On one hand I'd like a little more real estate on the handguard since I have long arms and big hands, but on the other end I'm glad the gun will stay pretty compact when I stick a can on there soon. Wicked fun with an FRT as well.
>>65599137
You'd kind of have a point if you said bog or kuna, but a chassis gun isn't really the same kind of gun and you're asking someone to pay ~$1500ish for a fucking P320! In no universe is the thigh mutilator as fun of a gun to own as an MP5.
>>
>>65599457
I think the k looks cooler esp with a suppressor and I'm a sucker for getting shit as compact as I can, but yeah I'm worried about not as much room on the handguard and comfort so I might go full size instead. For sure I'll have to think about it. I also would ideally like to put a light on it but I'm not exactly sure how that works for the k.
>>
>>65599466
I should mention I do think the issue is mostly alleviated with an SBRization and a good vertical grip.
Mine came with an MLOK handguard so I could stick a light on there if I want.
