did the su47 inspire this kind of wings in scifi aircraft or did scifi aircraft inspire the su47 wings?
X-29 did it 10 years earlier but SU-47 popularized it since it looked like something ready for service.>but the cockpit is a smaller even deadlier plane!Sigh...
I prefer the Super Sylph over the Mave desu
Russia never inspired anything other than disgust in decent people.
>>65600064Yukikaze my beloved.
>>65600103Same.
>>65600076Even teh Nazis had soem concept with forward swept wings. It's just that it never really took off.
>>65600064Morgan is very much sukhoi inspired looking at its lines. I assume the anime plane on your OP was consequently inspired from it too.
>>65600386bullshit ace combat designs you say?
engineer, physicist, etc. comes up with a concept of a machine that could work theoretically one day when technology advances enough. It gets published in in popular science, or mechanics, etc. Scifi writers read about it and use concepts in their work, other engineering nerds read/watch scifi works and use ideas in their R&D. Not a weapon, but Frankenstein was inspired by galvanism ideas, and then went on to inspire the creation of the portable pacemaker. So real concept inspire scifi which then inspire real inventions.

>>65600464At this point I think mechs are inevitable not because they will be practical but because people will build them because they are cool, and use cases will come later.
surfaces so artistic that they forgot to add weapon hardpoints.
I like the og VF-1 best.
>>65600064They probably got the idea from seagulls, then someone asked what if we flipped it over.
>>65600455CARLOS!
>>65600589Well yeah, obviously. They will be used for entertainment if nothing else. It just needs a wealthy eccentric to invest money into the concept for the love of the game. Unfortunately flying cars seem to be a bigger priority than walking mechs. Fake and gay.
>>65600624still the GOAT
>>65600906The US vs Japan mech fight 9yrs ago was a huge disappointment. It's not worth watching but fairly wealthy eccentrics have done it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HGTkK4Ambcthis probably killed the idea of mech combat sports for the last 10yrs
>>65600589Patlabor invokes this in-universe at one point to explain why humanoid labors are so much more popular than other, possibly more practical layouts for general purpose industrial machines.People buy human shaped robots, so companies make human shaped robots.
For me, it's Black Mantahttps://youtu.be/LVN5VkM-Seo
>>65600064Forward swept wings has always been the aeronautical white whale. We know that geometrically they are the optimum shape for the most desirable early coldwar characteristics. The problem is that same shape makes them bend and fight back the harder and faster you push them. Once the meta shifted to multi-mach BVR all the research into it dried up.
