Why couldn't he accept that he was a shit field commander?

uncle addy was just handling the woke era of his own time, and sadly the overclever zionists were already playing fifth-gen warfare. I wouldn't nuke anywhere in Europe, even if I can't think of anything good Germany has done since 1945. Maybe Sinn watches, Glashutte, and Laco. BMWs I guess, it's just a regular Ford over there tho. Most everything else is degenerate ugly-beautiful "art" made by a conquered people in occupied territory.

I would've dropped one on each Russian city with a population above 10k until they retreated all the way into Mongolia. Germany would've forever partitioned to this day and all of the communists who survived Hitler's camps would've all been executed for spying for the USSR.

>>65601961
I thought the interviews with dick winters confirmed the accuracy of the series.
>>
>>65602664
Other interviews with people outside the Winters Clique said that Winters was a self-aggrandizing asshole who really lived up to his nickname.
>>
>>65602671
What was his nickname?

Also, was the real life Nixon a bro at least?
>>
>>65602706
You're not seriously asking what RICHARD Winters' nickname was, are you?
>>
>>65601958
Easy company were a pack of shitbags malding about being expected to practice basic discipline, there is no unbiassed account of what Sobel was like but considering the gravest indictment of him is that his NCOs got more respect than he did (which is literally the point of NCOs, as COs cannot reasonably be expected to befriend every fucking enlisted wop) then he was probably fine.
>>
>>65602706
>Nixon
No. I forget who but one of the men said he was, and I quote, “a prick”. The series is a fictional drama about the WW2 myth boomers like to imagine, not a documentary.
>>
>>65602706
>Also, was the real life Nixon a bro at least?
No one except Winters liked him. Worth looking into if you like the series enough to believe it was 100% factual
>>
>>65601961
Yes he was a shit historian
>>
>>65601958
He was not as bad as he was portrayed in the band of brothers. He was made intentionally into a villain because it played well. I don't remember the exact inaccuracies but you can search yt, someone made some videos on this topic.
And another account i heard from eugene sledge or his party is that the adaptation of the with old breed in peileilu has about 20% accurate based on what tom hanks said, and that 20% hisyorical accuracy is higher than then 10% hollywood usually delivers. So unfortunately as band of brothers or the pacific is, they are probably filled with wrong portreyals of historic events and people.

FYI i have ugene's book but i have yet to read it, so maybe someone else here can testify to the accuracy in The Pacific.
>>
>>65602748

>>65602664
Dickwad said I do not remember who died in battle when he survived. In fact, that man went on to fight in Korea and attended Easy company reunions for years.
Amborse REALLY liked some Dick and unflinchingly took whatever came out of its mouth.
>>
Ok, doing some cursory research revealed that band of brother has several big lies about the characters there. It sucks one of most fav pieces of cinema i just made up shit about real people, either making them saints or villains.
At least the pacific is fairly accurate trustworthy. It sucks I modeled my persona during my service on lies.

It would have been good if they mentioned that. But the documentary style interviews they throw in supposedly sell it as a fairly accurate documentary.

Winters, that the only reason i was able to salute my faggot CO and other faggot officers "we solute the rank, not the officer". I had both enemies and friends which is more my character trait than trying yo ve soneone else, could not stand assholes or try to fit in.
I remember that the regimental CO called me into his office trying to convice me to go to officers schhol all while looking down at his phone (not a smart phone, that was in '07).

Replace Berlin with Moscow.

Do you actually think anyone would actually believe it? They'd take it as a completely unhinged attack on muh flawless Winters, Winters' crew, and the perfect miniseries they think is a documentary

Numerous veterans of easy credited Sobel’s brutal training with preparing them for combat and contributing to their survival. He was physically fit and led by example in training. After Easy, he also jumped into Normandy with the regiment’s Service Company and saw action, which is not covered in the series.

>uncle addy was just handling the woke era of his own time

Hitler was instrumental in creating woke you retard.

>>65602664

Winters built a bit of a personality cult around himself among the NCOs and junior officers of Easy Company (to put it simply, he was much more popular than Sobel or any of the men who took the position after him). Enlisted men and NCOs weren’t part of his clique of buddies were generally more critical of him.

>>65602840

You’re thinking of Albert Blithe, and to be fair, while he did attend 101st Airborne reunions, he isn’t known to have attended any Easy Company-specific ones (and likely couldn’t specifically because he had returned to active duty). So it would have been very easy for someone who had served with him in Normandy to have assumed that he died of his wounds and then relayed this to Ambrose. Ambrose’s great crime was not bothering to double check the information he was being given during interviews, which he could have done by visiting the National Archives or the VA and looking through personnel records. At the very least, he should have put a disclaimer in the book that there was some of the information couldn’t be verified and might be inaccurate/incomplete. James O’Donnell did this when putting together the account of Hitler’s final months in the Berlin bunker, he expressly stated that the eyewitness accounts he was working with couldn’t always be independently verified and might not be completely accurate.

I was cheering blithe on when he finally manned up, I was devasted when he got shot and the final message in the episode said he died in 1948, then I read about him after watching that episode and learned he went on to go fight in Korea. I was like wtf, I almost quit the show after that.
