Thank you op. I wanted to make a thread but I gifted mine away. Sad day when /k/ forgets 10/22
>>65604508I would celebrate but sadly I am 10/22less. Will you accept a shotgun shell I hit at 50 yards with my Savage MkII as recompense?
>>65604508Bump i love mine its a take down I bought in July but its not as accurate IAs id like any suggestions? Also these duel mags are rad
>>65604984Did you read the manual and have the ring actually adjusted right? Then theres the fact they just aren't as accurate as the fixed barrel models. But should still be good enough.
>>65604508Fug I had totally forgotten until late yesterday when that 22plinkster video popped up.
>>6560450810/22 "X1" prototype
>>65604508It’s not the only gun I shoot but it’s my favorite one to shoot. It’s the gun I always recommend to anyone that wants to get into plinking.
>>65604508for me its bx and a hicap
Ever since ruger discontinued the charger for the retardedly priced 10/22 SBR, does anyone know what the best 8" barrels are and if a $200 10/22 carbine would be a good base for a better 10/22 SBR that will probably even be cheaper than from factory.
>>65606748FWIW before the factory SBR came out which still has read manual billboards in place of the nice old rollmarks, I figured the best way to get what barrel you want with the features you want is to just buy a $90 Ruger factory spare barrel from Midway or use the one already on your rifle and find a GOOD gunsmith to chop it and/or do whatever work you want. You can even do things that the factory doesn't offer like irons with a sub 16" barrel. Hell, maybe irons on a sub 16" barrel which is also threaded. Things like that. The factory barrel like 99% of the time shoots I want to say like maybe 2.5 MOA at worst. They're far from bad and they don't look out of place. So in short, yeah, buy the cheapest 10/22 and start from there. I just fucking hate the new billboard, but you get a lot of nice features right off the bat like factory auto bolt release, BX trigger (most models if not all?), and factory drilled cleaning hole in rear of receiver, but ONLY on the new models like 32000, etc., not the old 1101, etc. You could also look for lightly used rifles if you don't want the new billboard but I've never found one for much, if any cheaper than a new 10/22. Gun stores price them high and people seem to not think they lose much value. It's kinda nuts.
>10/22 thread>it's now 10/24>11 repliesWhat's become of this place? Also the 10/22 sales this year suck too.
>>65607378A little bit of answering your own question there pal but I hate to say the faithful little die cast rotomag plinker is becoming a bit of a relic. Getting rid of a barrel band was revolutionary in what 1930?
>>65607345>advises buying old not new>everyone else does too>wonders why they keep their price high used
>>65607453I really only recommend buying used if you hate the rollmark. Every rifle past like 2010 has shitty degreasing as well which leads to poor adhesion of the powder coat, especially in the ejection port. Even the 80s rifles can be susceptible to chipping powder coat. And the rollmark gets uglier every time they fuck with it, I swear to god. You could build off a stripped Ruger receiver from Volquartsen for under $50 but the bolt and trigger group are what ends up pulling that price back up to new gun territory. Not to mention then you're still missing a barrel.
