So what's the new thing everyone is getting these days?
Last time I got something was the Flecktarn jackets and Alpenflage field shirts everyone ordered for cheap. I still have those but I lost 60lbs so now nothing fits me anymore. I wanna keep up with the current trends.

Good job on your weight loss. In terms of milsurp clothes I haven't bought any in so long. I do want to buy some P41 or P44 dungarees to match my Late WWII/Korea USMC kit.

Only one of these is a true milsurp but all have some surplus parts in them at least.

What did I buy? Been wanting a Lee-Enfield for a long time, the long branch no4 mkIs were already sold and last one left was $150 and I sent it. It was labelled "no4" but on the left receiver a faint "No.4 MkII Fifth" that ai only saw after the paperwork was done, with a crowned "L7" on the band by the trigger guard. A crowned OEW on the barrel band, and only a + next to a 6 or 9 on the top of the receiver. I'm in the weeds looking for markings and haven't found much. Mismatched magazine numbering but the serial starts with a 25. Please help me autists

Always been partial to Mike B. for milsurp clothing and gear. Even met him a couple times at gun shows over the years

>Good job on your weight loss.
Well, thank you very much. But I didn't really work on it or anything. I've always just been a lifter and not a cardio, calorie counting, macro counting mfer. Men in my family just have their metabolisms increase after 30 for some reason. I'm still eating whole frozen pizzas and store bought snack cakes like a fatass.
I had to call my dad and grandpa thinking I had cancer, but they were 200lbs+ till their late-20s/early-30s and then they just dropped to 150lbs or less at the same age as me. Guess I'm lucky or something to some people.
Either way, I'm a small now and I want to get some more cool surp to wear.

If you're losing weight and don't know why, consider diabetes. Do you experience excessive urination and excessive thirst? Are you constantly fatigued? Do you eat and drink whatever you want but still lose weight inexplicably? Go buy a blood sugar test kit or ask your doctor for the urine test. The earlier you start treatment the better your chances of avoiding permanent nerve and blood vessel damage!

He did explain that there's quite the genetic precedent for what happened to him
>>
>>65606625
Oh don't worry about that. I already got a full battery of tests after I lost the first 40lbs. It's not the beetus, they said I'm at the cusp of pre-beetys, but they said that anyone on a high sugar diet after 30 will appear that way. Nope, just burn calories a lot now. I also plateaued at 148-152lbs, so as long as I don't lose more weight, I'm not worried.

Gayvar has vz-61 kits in stock. Go gettem boys
>>
>>65606726
Any of the cheaper ones without the barrels avaliable? I remember there used to be like $199 kits because they didn't have barrels and I'd rather get a threaded one anyway to suppress.
>>
>>65606744
I don't think so. These are nice because the barrels are already installed. Very easy to put together with a tort tort reciever.
>>
>>65606744
Whatacountry has yugo ones without the barrels for $230.

I ask again since we are still on it a bit. Anyone have any good recommendations for repro gear and uniforms. Stuff that re-enactor communities use? I wanna find and setup a pre ww1 French getup with the Kepi, blue overcoat and the dumb red pants. Among other stuff
>>
>>65606794
Hikishop tends to be the go to for beginner shit. Just note it is a Chinese company so the quality can be hit or miss. For the better stuff I would try to contact any French unit that's looking for bodies WWI or not, totally recommend this because some units can be absolute stitch nazis on the stupidest shit. That said a lot of units are willing people on, but WWI tends to be more niche compre WWII.
Just trying save you money and from disappointment if no unit wants you. Rockford has large WWI usually in the Spring so that might be worth checking.
t. WW2 renactor (Not telling what unit since we're kinda of niche unit).

>>
>>65606898
Good info thanks. I'll refine a bit tho. Im not necessarily looking to outfit for an actual unit or get into reenactment. Mostly just goofing around range shenanigans so quality can be a toss up.
Nice tho Hikishop appears to have what I need with Kepi+red pants+coat. There appear to be 2 a .biz and .com and I saw some people say one or the other. whats your take? Also Chinese quality/fit be damned i wont mind for what i'll be doing with it.
>>
.biz has free shipping but some items are priced a bit higher than on the .com site to adjust for that. Because of shipping costs and import fees nowadays I would order off .biz
>>
>>65606936
Yeah, yeah, yeah I haven't heard that one before. Whole year I've been getting that joke. Shit this happened to my dad in the late 80s and apparently his friends called him Ryan White when he dropped the weight.
>>
File: timeformilsurp.gif (1.75 MB, 451x330)
1.75 MB GIF
>>65607180
Neat. Interesting enough tho. .biz only has the madder red cavalry officers trouser. vs .com having the madder red infantry. Madder red infantry +shipping off .com comes out lower than madder red officers without shipping. Even with the price diff of the other items in my cart, the pants tip the scale for .com being cheaper even with the shipping.
So ill go with .com for this order, but ill keep it in mind for other orders.

Real stupid question. Would full disassembly and reassembly of a lee enfield no4 change the zero? I know if you don't tighten the screws just right for the best lockup it will screw with the accuracy but what about zero? I thought I had rusting under wood (I didn't I was just paranoid) and decided to take it to the range and it was 4" high and 4" right compared to last range outing. Same bullet weight handloads and did it with both IMR4895 and some BL-C2 loads I was testing at the time.
>>
>>65607615
If you alter how the forearm is bearing on the barrel it will consistently alter the point of impact.
>>
>>65607615
Yes. As weird as it sounds to us now they really weren't meant to be taken apart, milsurp guns in general besides something like the M1 where you HAVE to remove the stock to disassemble it

I accept clones of military issue rifles as civilian versions of military rifles.

Tried to buy 300 rounds of hxp .303 off some old fag at a gun show today. He wanted 360 and I wouldn't pay more than 300. I think that's pretty fair. Guy was a dickhead and his buddies were butting in on the negotiation. Whatever, don't sell anything and smell your buddies farts at the table.
>>
>>65609308
I think you were more than fair. Auction here last week had an unopened can from 1975: it only brought $237 including fees and theft. Boomers gonna Boom.

You can get new production .303 for a buck a round with free shipping so chalk it up to another boomer moment.
>>
>>65610308
Exactly. That's what I told Mr boomer. Hxp is nice brass to reload. These people are insufferable. I told him I know where you got it. Max arms had them a year ago 220 shipped. I'm going to load up some PPU brass I've been saving life goes on for us. The boomers are on borrowed time. After going to a nicer gunshow a few months ago, this was a reminder of the absolute disgusting mongoloid, white trash fucks that go to these shows.

Got to see (and handle) a mint 1899 Nagant revolver recently. When did everything Russian turn into smekalka and trash because that gun was a fucking masterpiece in terms of fit and finish

So I finally moved to a non-homosexual state that allows me to have a C&R. I've got the form and plan to fill it out, but is there anything I should know before submitting it? I know it gives the ATF the right to audit me, but what does that entail? I've yet to ever sell a gun in my life, and I don't plan to do so. Are they going to anal probe me for buying old Mausers?
>>
>>65616031
>but what does that entail?
Unless they get a warrant all they can ask is to inspect your bound book, which you can do either at the address you use for the C&R or you can bring it to the nearest ATF Field Office.
>>
I missed all of the surp golden ages
I have an arisaka 99 because I'm a weeb and some soviet pistols because they are cheap
Any good buys currently? Help a newfag out
>>
>>65616344
It's literally ogre if you just want cheap stuff. You can occasionally find a Yugo mauser or a mosin though, but be prepared to spend like $400.
>>
>>65616344
Carcanos can be found for $300 or less and you don't even have to settle for rti if you look.
Good K31s can be found for $500 when the import batches hit.
Star 30m is a cheap as dirt wonder nine. This is likely missable content once the current glut runs out
>>
>>65616398
That's too bad
Cheeap stuff that makes a bang is mostly what i want
>>65616400
Are the carcanos decent? I was defnitely eyeing them
I live in a shitty 10rd state so didnt want to buy a star or anything with a standard mag capacity because it would have to be mutilated to be legal
>>
>>65616418
The problem with Carcanos is the ammo. 6.5 is like $1 a round now, and lord help you if you need 7.35.
>>
>>65616452
That sucks, but still cheaper than any 7.7jap ammo (especially the fmj that will acutally feed reliably past the 3rd rd unlike the cheaper soft point(in my gun))
If you intend to reload are bullets in this caliber prohibitively expensive (i am about to search this right now)
I have been saving brass and wanted to give it a shot anyways
>>
>>65616344
South American/Spanish Mausers are high quality and still cheap. Some were even rechambered to 308 prior to being surplused out.
>>
>>65616472
I saw a very nice one at an lgs. Chilean i think
It was gorgeous, near mint on the exterior, but i think they wanted $7-800 for it which was too much to impulse buy without researching
>>
>>65616452
>The problem with Carcanos is the ammo. 6.5 is like $1
The ammo is the least of the issue with carcanos. Sure, it ain't cheap, but the worst part is it won't shoot for shit out of what's available. I got a $120 one at a Big R back in the day and I was able to inspect it before I bought, so I'm good. My buddy got one from J&G a year ago and it was basically a smooth bore and had so much pitting, I'm shocked they didn't operate like porting. PPU ammo was keyholing under 50yds.
My carcano also functions fine with .266" factory ammo, but I paid $150 to get a .269" mold for completely proper sized bullets. Even when we tried my properly sized loads in his gun, keyholing was less of an issue, but groups were almost 6" at 50yds from a rest. In mine it's just a little over an inch.
The only ones left are just the worst of the worst.
>>
>>65614328
Don't think I've ever met a boomer who wasn't trying to squeeze an extra buck out of me
>>
>>65610632
>Nice try gramps, this time I know what YOU'VE got
Genuinely warms my heart to see moments like this.
