>>65606660Is the video just grainy or are drones really small enough that by the time you see them it's a little too late?
How come they don’t carry those shotguns they use to shoot those clay things in that weird sport
>>65606845Trap and Skeet shooting isnt weird!>:(
>>65606845Because practical shotguns are a neglected firearm type in eastern europe. They are not mass produced at the scale needed and the shotguns Russians/Ukrainians have access to are generally pretty shit. The population also has hardly any natural skill pool to tap into that could effectively use them in an anti drone role. The opposite is the reason America obliterates every trap and skeet competition in the world. If pushed, US soldiers could likely get away with these risky close quarters anti drone tactics with much better results
>>65606660>bumfight in eastern europe is representative of anything other than a bumfight in eastern europe
Ok, get boots on the ground in Iran, let's see how you handle fpv hell.
>>65606796I'd love to see the source, it looks sus overall.
>>65606861She looks like she fucks human men.
>>65606890Shotguns are literally the cheapest type of firearms to produce, your whole post sounds like utter nonsense.
>>65606909>let's see how you handle fpv hell.Pretty easily.
>>65606921The enemy has built a vast underground network for rapid redeployment, prepared ambushes and learned fpv usage tactics from its ally and/or imported instructors/drone units. The enemy has no qualms about using civilians as human shields and suicide bombers and will constantly harrass your bases, roads and field camps around the clock. Your society has low tolerance for casualties on top of already being in an unpopular war and is primed for demoralization campaigns. Now what?
>>65606845>>65606861>>65606890New sport idea: fpv drone shooting
here's your modern infantry combat, bro
>>65607013More like snuff films
>>65607013Damn he turned into meat.
>>65606941Destroy all of their dams and power generation facilities and never let them try to rebuild them.
>>65606845 >How come they don’t carry those shotguns they use to shoot those clay things in that weird sport If you carry a shotgun (+ammo), you can't carry a rifle (+ ammo; too bulky), meaning you have very limited engagement range, even with something like a semi-auto turkey-choked 10 gauge with tungsten shot (which is pretty much the heaviest shotgun which can be feasibly carried by a person). This doesn't really matter if you're doing security 5-something km behind the contact line (risk of infiltrators getting that far is minimal, but drones can reach without issues), but, even then, if you have to move out and switch positions, you must first go to a locker and swap guns (which increases logistic burden and degrades reaction time).
>>65607286>Destroy all of their damsnot like Iran has water anyway
>>65607347>Iran has water>Gulf state>Doesn't have waterLmao, amreimutt education everyone!
>>65607356Yum. An ocean of sodium enriched water. If only us we could be so lucky as those smelly persians.Idiot
>>65606845>How come they don’t carry those shotgunssome do and the results are mixed.
>>65607565gonna need birdshot, and at that distance, a much shorter barrel.
>>65606660How is it always footage of soldiers by themselves getting attacked? How do they always get separated from their platoon or group or whatever?
>>65607578you know the thousands of videos of lone APCs rushing to a tree line to drop off soldiers, but it hits a mine and is abandoned, and then men run off in all directions? That is all it is. The survivors find a hole or try to just walk back home, alone. They are picked off by drones one by one. Been this was since 2023. Just these days they are using more civilian vehicles like dirt bikes and quads to rush the tree lines, since armor is near obsolete and they count on speed saving them (sometimes). /pol/ will tell you they are staged execution videos of Russian POWs, all 4768 of these videos, but they also ate a lot of lead paint chips as children.
>>65606890Benelli semi auto shotguns are held in high regard for drone shooting in Ukraine
>>65606921if the enemy can sneak a manpad/SAM launcher and hit a fighter jet, they surely can sneak drones and hit infantry
>>65606660i saw it coming and i got flashbacks from the ptsd when i first saw the manhack on half life 2
>>65607344You can, and people do it all the time, but it's a pain in the ass. If you have access to ok quality duplex/drone rounds they're a better idea since you can just have a couple of mags for that shit and you can actually shoot your weapon effectively under duress because you're familiar with it
>>65606890>>65606845IIRC both sides started training men to take down drones with shotguns at the squad level back in like 2023. The reason you don't see/hear about it is because you'll never see drone footage of a guy downing one with a shotgun is picrel, basically
>>65607665oh wow, someone should reinforce the areas where all those red dots are!
>>65607673We got a smallbrain over here!
>>65607578Russians use infiltration tactics. They send soldiers individually to forward positions to gradually concentrate their forces there, because any large group is spotted by drones and destroyed. Sending individual guys every couple of hours, despite their low survival rates, results in fewer overall losses. That's also why you see so many suicide videos of wounded Russian assault troops. They know that there is no help coming. Defensive positions are also manned by only 3 to 4 dudes on both sides. If a dug-out is destroyed you end up with a small number of survivors trying to reach other positions. The Russians also use low-quality men like old people to carry supplies to forward positions. They are called mules. That's why you have the "genre" of drone video where grandpa Ivan loaded with canisters or duffel bags gets droned. The Russian commanders send them on their own because, just like the infiltrators, it makes them a tiny bit harder to spot.
>>65606796Things look really small until they are very close, gotta do something with FOV and an inverse and some math shit. It's gonna be a dot in the sky most of the time.
Jej
>>65607575realistically for the situations we're seeing #2 and lower steel is pretty effective but someone is going to need to overbore a 12 gauge like the mossberg 835 is and get it reliably semi-auto like a 1301, chambered for 3.5 inch shells and design a recoil dampening system specifically for it so average the average joe can sling fuck off magnum loads of number 4 buck at death drones
>>65606921>day 236 of the 24 hour regime change operation>"it'll be easy"
>>65607655Drone rounds sort of work, but you only get 4 beads per round. You get a lot more in a shotgun, even with a standard 2¾ shell.
>>65606915Agreed
>>65607013>and next up Sergey Semenov with the long jump!
>>65606681yeah, wireless drones use RPG warehead or heavier explosives, wired drones use smaller warheads like grenades, they are less explosive but send a lot of shrapnels so even if you don't kill the enemy on the first hit, they have a chance to bleed out in a field if they don't have first aid.
>>65607733>*confirmed
>>65606941unregulated use of MOAB, WW2 style carpet bombings and doubled up artillery strikes like in Korea.now what?
>>65607786There's a Russian company, "Techcrim", that produces rounds with 7. I wonder how effective those are since there's a 85% chance that it's just a scam to get a government contract.
>>65607822>company selling dedicated anti drone ammo at dollars on the dollar>look inside shotgun shell>just a regular fucking shotgun shelllol, lmao even. No wonder the russian government is selling bonds at fucking awful prices
>>65607817Ok zister, join the pile. Maybe you'll be the lucky 300000th. Make sure to die in one piece (not get gibbed by drone) and report your passing so it can be verified (you don't want to become nameless fertilizer, do you?)https://200.zona.media/
>>65607841listen lets get real there is quite literally no way to confirm those numbers even if we account that they just cut the videos down to the last 5 seconds at the worst possible bitrate and resultion you roughly gonna need (for their claimed number SO FAR) at about 9 petabytes +- 300 gigabytes cause im bored to do the exact mathyou need an ARMY of editors alone for this kind of task so people just roll with it
>>65607847The deaths are confirmed via obituaries and regional news reports, not by drone videos.
>>65607822>4.5mm Those are .177'' BBs. Federal Speed-Shok packs 81 of them in a 3'' shell. I'd say 81 is better than 7, especially since undercaliber BBs out of a rifle barrel aren't more accurate than out of a shotgun.
>>65607847You can just count the bodies on the ground afterwards. It's not like anyone is coming to collect them.
>>65606920>>65607598Them being cheap and effective has nothing to do with his argument. He is saying that yes they are cheap, but Ukraine does not have existing infrastructure for their sale and distribution, nor does it have many people who ever fired a shotgun prior to 2022. By comparison, the United States has a very large population of shotgun owners (tens of millions, probably near 100 million) the vast majority of which are either pumps or semis. Your average American infantry squad probably has at least 2-3 guys who shot skeet or sporting clays or whatever for fun as a teenager. Hence if you were to just issue shotguns to every infantry squad in the US Army, it would probably go surprisingly well as a stopgap anti-drone measure, with higher efficacy than handing shotguns to random Ukrainians, even if they are veterans.
