At .65 cpr the only thing you can realistically do with it is learn how to spin it. I would have grabbed a .357 modern production revolver for your first.

Did you hit the range this weekend? I’ve been hitting it Saturday and Sunday

Have you guys heard of the “Eric Grauffel’s push-pull” grip technique? It puts words to what I was doing with my support hand (pull) clamping to my dominant hand. It also emphasizes the shoulders and arms being used.

There's no reason to CC a black powder weapon in 2026. Noguns can't tell the difference between black powder and smokeless powder and gun guys will assume 1) you're a felon (and probably for something gay like being a pedo) or 2) you lack a personality so you're trying buy something to give you one. Or both.

From a quick read, I've been doing that by just experimenting in terms of grip. As for the shoulders I think I'm usually more relaxed?
>>

>push-pull” grip technique
IDK who that dude is, but when I started shooting in the early 2000s that was a popular technique. It fell out of favor a few years later and I guess it's making a comeback. I don't care for it myself, but people who shoot a lot better than me have used it, so whatever.

It appears that you are missing the fundamental concept of concealed carry. No one should be thinking anything about your choice of firearm because they shouldn't even know you have it.
Also, there are many reasons to not carry a black powder gun and what people think about you is absolutely the least of them.
Please come back when you are not in violation of 4chan Global Rule 2.

The fact that he didn't just say "underageb&" and just leave it at that proves he's either a tourist from Reddit, an ESL, or underageb& himself.

The only people that even know about black powder firearms are people with enough knowledge to know it's a bad idea to carry it. When your choice for carry makes even those shitty little two capacity derringers look good, you've got a problem.

My father is still hurting so I am looking after him, he is getting better, but a couple of days ago he needed his cane. I want to go and shoot my Single Six today, but I think taking care of my father is more important.

I always use Push-Pull. Is there anyone who doesn't? Maybe I am just outdated on everything. I don't even shoot in the Weaver stance like some folks do.
>>
>>65610666
That's interesting, Anon. Thank you.

Sometimes holsters are weird. I bought a Desantis (I know) IWB leather holster that is made with Glock 19s in mind but it doesn't fit my stock Glock 19 at all. Fits my stock 92 perfectly, though.

>>65610669

Okay in the meantime I'll ask a better question than yours anyway:

What handgun calibers do you shoot and what is the next one you want to get into?

Currently, I shoot 9mm/.45 ACP/.357 Mag/.38 Special

Next year I want to get a 1911 (.45 ACP), a PCC (either a PX4 or Mp5 clone) in 9mm and also get my first .22LR gun.

The cz82 mag is .100" smaller in thickness and .200 smaller in width due to shorter cartridges but .300 longer

CX4s are pretty cheap and i have a metric ton of 92 mags laying around so that's probably the best budget option. Although, an MP5 is what I've wanted since I was in high school and Rainbow Six released so I feel like it's time to get one, especially with the advancements in FRTs

>>

>>65610787
Well, yes, in the literal sense we are all roleplaying being in a dangerous situation that requires action of the deadly force variety. I have never had to draw my firearm and only once had to reveal it to defuse a situation but I still train regularly.

Many years ago, I was talking to a much older gentleman who had been shooting all his life. He said his family once went to the grocery store on a Sunday after church and it was crowded. His wife was pushing their child in the shopping cart through the parking lot to their car and he was a few feet behind. A commotion arose and he and his wife turned their heads and saw a big car speeding towards them. He instinctively drew his carry piece and fired at the driver. They were hit through the windshield and this caused them to jerk the wheel and drive into a nearby unoccupied parked car.

The police arrived and questioned everyone(this was a relatively small town so people weren't just going to be on their way after that). Everyone basically defended the shooter and told them the car was headed right for him and his family (and the others behind them) He was not charged or arrested.

Turns out the driver of the car was some old lady who had some sort of brain bleed or stroke and that's why her foot wouldn't leave the gas pedal. Now, this guy could be talking out of his ass but I did see what I perceived to be shadows of real fear in his eyes as he recollected it and he seemed genuinely remorseful he had to shoot an old lady. The point of the story is that he didn't have time to think about grip or stance or anything except the split second decision to draw and fire, saving his wife, child's and others lives.

Do I think I will ever have to actually draw, aim my firearm at a person and pull the trigger? I haven't for 15 years so I hope not. But I still train in case I do.
>>
>>65610795
The difference is in the details. Training involves things like having your weapon ready to fire and looking the target instead of your gun when you walk around a corner. Assessing angles of advantage and cover. Footwork and target assessment. All while having someone who knows as much or preferably more than you watching you and helping you figure out how to do it better.
If your primary concern is shot placement and times, you're playing a game.

If any of you have a pistol suppressor, try to put a thumb behind the slide next time you shoot.
Specifically offhand, compressing rear of the slide with thumb and front of the trigger guard with index finger.
Breech never unlocks, it's quieter, and no dust in face.
Downsides are you have to manually cycle the slide and it taps the thumb a little every time.

I will come here with an extremely controversial opinion:

Full sized steel frame handguns are a meme.
I carry a small j frame and a g19 and a HK subcompact. Even the HK subcompact is Xbox fuckhuge.

And then, I have a steel frame ppq. It's IMPOSSIBLE to wear concealed. Don't gg scrub me. The gun is like 40 oz, even with a pro gun belt it sags. It's so large, that even under a blazer and a top coat it's clearly visible. Detectives in my city don't even carry firearms this large.

The g19 and the HK do everything this full sized gun does.

They are a thing of antiquity. Soon, "compact" guns of today are the full sized guns of the future.

>>65610978

>>65610944
If it is just the gun, nothing else, $500 is the highest I'd go on it and that's if it's in great condition. Any higher, and you start getting access to used versions of better revolvers. There's also the fact that you're gonna have to spend a decent amount on a holster and ammo.

You're doing him a favor because if he took it to a gunstore, they'd either give him pennies on the dollar for it OR if he sold it consignment, it'd rot in a glass case for months or years

>>65610978
If you can carry a Glock 19, you can carry a Beretta 92fs or Sig P226.The reality is that conceal carrying is a game of fractions of an inch, sometimes less.

There are women online that show other women how to carry full-size because their small, bird-like wrists can't handle 124 gr +P out of a subcompact. If these women can do it, so can you, Anon
>>

I'm a manlet and I shoot full sized. Honestly anyone suggesting that you need to keep up with the Jones family on guns has taken to marketing hook, line and sinker. Just shot my G19 gen 6 for the first time, and it's a damn sweet shooting handgun. I love the recoil impulse on it, and the trigger pull isn't bad for what it is. That being said, since I started with a Beretta M9, I shoot with the crease of my index finger for a better double action trigger pull. Because of this, when I pull the trigger on my G19, I find that I pull high on the trigger, and this causes the trigger "dingus" to not fully disengage, and my trigger stops pulling completely. It's very concerning. I would like to think it's a skill issue, but if not, Glock really dropped the ball on the design of this safety feature for their new trigger system. I'm not sure how to fix this without an aftermarket part, but I might take a dremel to the frame opening under the trigger, and sand of just a hair of material, so the trigger will pull smoothly when I ride it high.

Look,

The HK is not a cc series, first of all. It's a dasa subkompact.
Furthermore, I believe that the inability to conceal the steel ppq is because holsters are not really available for it. I have been toying with purchasing a ppq m2 holster to see if it works.

The gun is brilliant to shoot, intuitive, and has an excellent trigger. It's just too big.

Sometimes, I imagine a ppq reimagined as a colt 1903 380 sized and shaped 9mm using some sort of crazy mag to get 10 or 12 in a flush magazine.

I also think that 5.7 is underrated and should be explored as a small thin compact.

I'm sure office warriors will say they can wear a full size, but some of us have large industrial enterprises we run and need a smaller gat so we can climb ladders and stuff.

The g19 is a perfect size. I just wish it wasn't striker slop.
>>
>>65611193
>but some of us have large industrial enterprises we run and need a smaller gat so we can climb ladders and stuff.
Our forefathers built this nation with a Colt SAA on their hip or under their shoulder, I'm sure you can fit a PX4 Compact or CSX-E somewhere on your person without issue. I have a buddy who is a mechanic and he as a Sig P250 on him as he works on cars all day in all sorts of awkward positions
>>
>>65611201
I normally carry a g19 or a p2000sk.

I want to carry the ppq. It's just to fucking heavy and big. I cannot imagine carrying like, a staccato with a comp or something.
>>
>>65611207
>Carrying a staccato
Do people really do this? If you use it that’s 2k sitting in evidence forever
>>
>>65611193
>I just wish it wasn't striker slop.
Why are striker guns looked down on?
>>
>>65611209
Strikers are the automatics of the handgun world.
>>
>>65611209
They tend be cheaper and shilled by annoying glocksuckers.
>>
>>65611208
I saw on instagram some police department arrested a YN who had a Staccato (stolen from a white man, of course) on him with two mags full of HSTs.

>>65611207
But the PPQ is also "striker-slop". If your main complaint is that big steel guns are "too heavy" for conceal carry, you need to learn about retention cause it's starting to sound like your setup is a tube sock, pipe cleaners and Elmer's Glue
>>
>>65611215
The ppq q4 sf is the peak of striker fired technology.

James bong carried a beretta and then carried a Walther. He carried an fn to kill the guy in Dr no, and a few other firearms but mained a Walther.
James bong carried a p99 and the ppq is the direct genesis of the p99. James
Bond then carried the ppq.

Thus, I carry the most advanced ppq they manufacture.
But James Bond would not carry this shit. Idk what James Bond would carry in 2026 but it's not the fucking steel ppq. Maybe a pps. Maybe a pdp? But Mrs broccoli killed the franchise and it's over. So I'm stuck with a discontinued and depreciated firearm that Walther shilled me over the phone and I ordered about three months before they released the pdp series.
>>
>>65611219
Well if James Bond carried it, it must be good
>>
>>65611219
Walther better drop a micro compact for James bong.
>>
>>65611213
Wat?
>>65611214
Is cheaper (less expensive) a bad thing?
Does glock really need paid or unpaid shills to move units?

>>
>>65611209
I'm an old guy so I prefer hammer-fired guns. I enjoy the fact that my Beretta, Sig, CZ and HK all shoot and feel completely different. Wheras my Glock 19, PDP, MAsada etc. all feel kinda samey.

That being said, if i had to sell every handgun I own and only own one, I'm going with the Glock 19
>>
>>65611209

>>65611150
>That's what Weaver stance was. It's old, most people don't do it anymore
I still Weaver
I also push-pull because I found that it keeps the sights steadier with DA/SA guns (on my first shot especially) and creates a faster return when I shoot .45.
Also, my hands are fairly large and I really can't get any meaningful amount of my support hand on the inside grip, so the "firm handshake" that guys like Ben Stoeger and Joel Park suggest doesn't really work for me. When I tried it I found no difference to tea-cupping while push-pull actually lets my left hand do some work.
>>
>>65611251
I've been told that a "cheat" way to stop low lefts is to have your support fingers crush your bottom three dominant hand fingers so there's no ability to pull the gun by gripping too hard

My low lefts went away when I stopped staging the trigger and instead actually just did pull throughs with steady force application
>>
>>65611132
>Straight up change the way you finger that bitch.
That seems to do the trick, it's just an annoyance to have to do if I'm used to a natural way of pulling a trigger.
>>65611133
>When was the last time you dropped your gun?
Last time I dropped a gun was because I carelessly left my (unloaded) AR unbalanced on an indoor shooting bench. It was very embarrassing.
>>65611144
>Not to be that guy but... wouldn't the simpler solution to just do more dry fire practice?
Yes, that would help. I would have to either adjust my trigger finger placement, upgrade the dingus, or get thicker fingers.
>>65611150
>I am strugging to imagine how thin your fingers are that it doesn't sufficiently engage the blade tho Mr. Skellington, the thing BARELY has to move to disengage on a Glock
Guilty as charged lmao.
>>65611151
>Can you do this while dryfiring?
Correct. I just pull high on the trigger with the crease of my finger, and it gets hung up. To be fair, that other anon called me out for having skinny fingers lol.
>>

I feel like there’s only a few legit firearms companies that have a well rounded catalogue (as in try to have an offering for most gun types), design and manufacture their own guns, and push their products to be used by military and law enforcement.
The ones that really match this criteria are:
>HK
>Beretta
>FN
>SIG
>IWI
I’m sure there’s more but most are probably in 2nd/3rd world places.
>>
>>65611290
>Beretta

>>
>>65611294
They do also make rifle and shotgun, and some rimfire stuff
>>
>>65611285
>Is that something inherent to the striker system or just because other manufacturers are aping glock?
It's the second one. Striker fired guns like the Walther P99, Taurus 24/7, and Kahrs have a different trigger feel, but most of the handgun market has just been trying to emulate Glock as closely as possible for a long time.

It took something like 6-7 years after it was initially announced to hit US markets, far after the PCC hype was subsided, basically guaranteeing it would amount to nothing. To add insult to injury, it was overpriced on launch, didn't ship with sights, had no option for tri-lug (even though the miliary and police versions had it), no stock options, and no adapters for other stocks. There are some options now, of course, but only years later. And no further aftermarket or support from Beretta, really. Overall a huge disappointment.

I actually have carried a Glock 19 for the past two years, but I don't love it, and there's a strong chance I'm going to move on to something hammer fired, and possibly SAO. If I wind up with a Staccato or something else expensive, and I have to use it in a self defense situation, I don't give a FUCK if the police take my 2.5K-3K gun. Big deal, I'm still ALIVE, and I'll just go buy another one. The idea of concealed carrying isn't to save fucking money, it's to keep breathing.

Most east Euros are fine with guns too. I have an innate ability to piss off Asians, so I just stick to east Euros and Hispanics mostly. Honestly the east Euros are most attracted to me, especially Polish girls, and they're cute, so no complaints from me.

The current girl I am talking to lives in Argentina and I posted their current gun laws here a few times and the short version is that they are good, except CC is a pain to get approved and most people there only have cheap revolvers or single shot break actions as means for self defense. If you have to shoot an intruder, he is probably going to have at worst a Hi-Power, since even something like a Bersa Thunder is a luxury commodity (they go for the equivalent of $600-700 and an imported gun like a Taurus is almost a status symbol). So if things do work out and if I wind up in Argentina, then my stuff is going to look like an Arab Sheikh's gold plated AK compared to what they have. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love America, but it is tempting to cash out all my assets, buy a few houses and be a landlord.

Idk why, but the idea of a cheap pocket 380 that I can slip into my pocket and carry anywhere is just a fun new fascination. If I could get it with a threaded barrel, I’d get one no doubt. Which btw, apparently the process to thread and suppress them exists.

In what way? The only problem I can think of with the LCP, that isn't a direct consequence of its size, shape, and caliber, is the DAO trigger, and the LCP II fixes that. If you don't like the flippy recoil, the P32 should play nicer, but I haven't shot one.

Anyway, P3AT and TCP are just about exactly the same size and shape (because TCP and LCP are both copied off P3AT). The Seecamp and NAA Guardian are similar size, but much heavier.

A rifle or carbine isn't an EDC (everyday carry) option for us, not even for private security or armored truck crews in America. Most law enforcement keep theirs locked in the trunk during patrol so practically no one will have an AR-15 on them the way Ukrainians must with an AK-74. Service pistols are obviously inferior but a necessary compromise for we greymen.

I’ve also heard from many people that the LCP sucks. So better in the sense that it doesn’t suck. I just really like the idea of an LCP. It’s small, looks aesthetic, and cute. It’s also cheap.
>LCP 2
But with the LCP 2 they ruined the aesthetics for me. It probably feels and shoots better, but I just really like the looks of the LCP. Not a fan of DOA, not a fan of no threaded barrel, but I love the size and shape. Also, I like the idea of having a little 380 carry gun that I can also slap on a suppressor and shoot cans in my back yard or something. Haha

Honestly, if you don't want a Glock/Glock clone, then just find something not polystriker, they have their idiosyncracies, but they are all pretty close to each other. Yeah, what I am suggesting might not be the best thing to go with if you are insistent on being modern, but it honestly just needs to be comfortable for you to shoot, that is what I believe is much more important.
>which is all the more reason why I am sad that the H9 is a $1000 paperweight, smart on paper, stupid in reality

I'd recommend you find threaded barrel first and then the gun that fits it is easier to find. Also LCP 2 is purely 22 thing now, LCP max is the new Ruger 380.
>>
>>65613658
What didn't you like about the SAA?

Of course it sucks, it's a pistol the size of, well, itself, and in a real centerfire cartridge. It's neat to look at, and it's good to have when you can't or won't carry something bigger, but there's just no way it's not gonna suck when it comes to shooting.
>with the LCP 2 they ruined the aesthetics
I agree completely.
If aesthetics is king, stick with the LCP and embrace the suck.
>>
>>65613811
I had never held one before, but I like many others fantasized about owning one because vidya and movies. When I got it, it was bigger and heavier than I thought (and mine is the 4.75” barrel too) As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to lean more towards practical firearms I can actually use, carry, or use as home defense. Plus I had a Colt 1911 in the past, and was never really a 45 guy. Many people like 45, but 45 just isn’t my thing.
I mean you may absolutely love em; many people do. I’ve also got an .36 cal 1851 Navy Pietta, and I really like it. It’s a single action, but black powder. I just never shoot it. I guess when you have a 45, they just have to be bigger.
>>

Bro, I think we both may be a little autistic. That made me laugh.
Also, it’s cool someone agrees with me on the aesthetics. I feel like no one really talks about that. Surly there’s gotta be a way to make it not suck as bad though. I know they have the heel on the mags, and maybe one could somehow wrap the grip with something to make it feel a little more comfortable. They make them with actual sights, so there’s that option as well. Imagine if the LCP became the Glock of the .380 pocket pistol world. I mean they already have 32 round drum mags.

9mm is really good. I have a Glock 17 and out of a full sized gun it’s pretty enjoyable to shoot imo. How that translates to a compact size I’m not sure how to explain. It’s a little more snappy I guess. But if you’re someone who likes .32 ACP, I’m not sure how that translates either.
>I think that you would enjoy a .38 Super 1911
Yeah, I thought about getting one before. I think it’s something I’d have to feel and hold in my hands, and even then I think I’d wanna go with something like a commander- maybe even an officer model if it could run reliably, if I did get one. All steel guns are sweet, but I carried the full size 45 1911 before and that was a lot. lol I could do it relatively comfortably for a few hours, but after that I was ready to take it off.

I have no idea why people recommend .38 Super 1911s. Statistically no one buys them, high end 1911 shops have them on the catalog as a formality. If someone buys one they also buy a 9mm barrel to go with that gun.

Having shot a little bit of both I feel the .38 Super is a better shooter, it tends to be a flatter shooting round and the recoil is about the same out of a 1911, so mild. Also autism... A shot from a .38 Super 1911 is what killed Bonnie and Clyde according to legend. (Clyde Barrow himself carried a .45 1911).

It's pretty bad

The grip is huge and banana shaped
It's not compact despite what you'd think
The trigger sucks
The safety/decocker is upside down and the fulcrum is in the middle instead of the end so it's extremely difficult to move
The sights are vestigial
The overmolded grip is known to desiccate and flake and can never be repaired
Mags are not compatible with any other 'retter

But it is really neat I guess
>>
>>65614345
Yeah but 9mm is much more economically sound and if you want go fast, 9mm can be loaded HOT by using 9mm Major brass

It’s the same gun/barrel so any .38 super load can be done with 9mm Major

Personally, Winchester Service Grade is a 115 gr @ 1300 FPS and 27 cents a round which is close to .38 Super range loads in performance while being cheaper
