Why aren't we seeing more Russian soldiers running around with Saiga-12s?>what about limited engagement ranges. All the firefights in Ukraine look like they're happening at close range anyway, whether in bombed-out cities or close to buried dugouts. Small-arms fire seems to be relegated to a last line of defense and is only used when drones and artillery don't get the job done.A shotgun seems to be better in 99% of situations. Convince me that buck and ball for rifles is a better solution.
Why would they be running around with Saiga's? To "shoot down the drones"? Lmao. It won't work. The efficiency is negligible (for a whole lot of reasons) for all the issues surrounding making another staple of procurement for soldiers.
Do they even have enough shotguns to go around? I doubt that the Russian MOD would be trying to procure purpose built shotguns (that were predictably hot garbage for a laughably high price) if there was an abundance of saigas to buy off the civilian market.
>>65610662>laughably high price$289USD, if you caught the wave. They are more now. I sold a .410 for double, bc fuck .410.
>>65610646>Saiga-12stoo expensivethey will take the single-shot shotgun and like it
>>65610646Even if a soldier shoots down every drone you send at him, it's still cost-effective to keep sending drones until he runs out of ammo. The cost difference between a drone and a human is just that large.
>>65610838I wouldn't be so sure you can get yourself some indentured servants or slaves for surprisingly cheap in certain parts of the world
>>65610838Even if a soldier dodges every bullet you shoot at him, it's still cost effective to keep shooting until you hit. The cost difference between a bullet and a human is just that large.
>>65610646We do? Territorial air defence units almost exclusively use shotguns alongside vehicle mounted PKs, and a disproportionate amount of those shotguns are veprs and saigas.
