As west is getting more and more unstable and violent I think it becomes a necessity that people should be armed and well trained that must go way beyond simple target practice and trigger discipline. Is it possible at home without joining the military?

No one is stopping you from mopping up rain on your own.

No. Military training is 90% about operating as a group. You can't get militarily trained without friends.

Yes, I have alot of theoretical experience, from /k/.

for someone worried about training, you haven't even figured out how to set up a rifle yet.

In all seriousness, you can train in marksmanship, weapon maintenance, ruck marching, land navigation, and combat medical care on your own.
A lot of good info can be found online.
The biggest lessons we learned in BCT was working with a team, setting up lines of communication, and supply lines.
You can train like a soldier, but without a group, solid lines of communication, and logistics, you're not gonna get very far in an IRL guerrilla skirmish.

Very little of what the military teaches you would actually be applicable to an SHTF situation. If you really want to train yourself for SHTF then go down to your house's fuse box, turn off the main circuit breaker, and try to live without electricity for a week.

Unironically this. Worrying about the violent side of a SHTF scenario is a second priority, first one is making sure that you have your basic essential needs covered.

If things go south, I’d rather be a prepper with one reliable gun for self-defense than a wannabe operator / guerrilla who has tacticool gear and cool scenarios planned out, yet ends up starving and thirsty due to neglecting basics.

learn to farm, make medicines, and diy stuff retard. In a shtf scenario if you have to use a gun regularly for anything other than hunting then you are just straight up going to die. You don’t survive multiple gunfights unless you are a part of an actual unit of fighters, in which case you are probably going to die eventually anyway in an extended conflict.

Honestly, if you really have a boner to kill and not be killed in a shtf scenario, learn how to build drones with a 3d printer, energetics, and RF tech stuff. You aren’t John Wick or Rambo.

Just know how to use a rifle and be in good shape, but more importantly make yourself useful to post-SHTF communities of people by learning the above stuff. If the only value you have to your community is being a piece of meat with a rifle then you’re definitely going to die with the rest of the retards who can’t do anything else useful.

Why not join the military anon?

Not really you either grew up cating poachers and hunting or you did't they are not really skills adults can pick up which is why rural kids from backgrounds like that are always wanted for recon and sniping and SF.

It wouldn’t be hard at all for a never served to match and exceed the skills of the average enlisted man in when it comes to actually shooting and small arms manipulation.

If you took a legit multi day course with a qualified instructor in any weapon class be it pistols, rifles, shotgun, bolt actions. You would probably have as most enlisted.

The thing that would be damn near impossible for you to develop would be the other shit that infantrymen have to do/learn that nobody thinks about or rarely get to practice unless you join a spergy militia.

In the military infantry men get to practice (even if it’s notional) setting up ambushes/being ambushed, treating casualties, clearing unfamiliar buildings with hostile forces inside, defending and capturing buildings.

All this kind of shit is obviously difficult to practice alone, and even if you understand it in principle.

I feel like one real activity that would help someone actually develop the most important skills would be hunting, specifically western hunting stuff where you need to hike in.

>learn the fundamentals of field craft
>learn the importance of observation
>learn how to deal with the immeasurable boredom of sitting around for hours/days doing nothing
>learn how to close the distance on an animal without spooking it
>learn how to move through the land without alerting everything there of your presence
>learn to read maps, plan routes, land nav
>get used to the feeling of needing to be constantly alert because there might be a trophy deer 50 feet away from you behind a bush that hasn’t noticed you yet
>learn to identify tracks, and be constantly observant for them

>inb4 shitty grammar and punctuation
I’m on my phone typing this up on my lunch break idc
