Any of you own one? What do you think? I'm buying my first carry gun and I am looking for something easily concealable in 9mm, with a manual safety, wide parts availability, and a light rail. I might also add a red dot at some point, which it accommodates
>>65616575You won't be concealing that I'd you start attaching shit to it. They're heavier and bigger than you actually think.
Even on a full size competition gun a scope makes the slide obnoxiously clumsy to work with and makes it cycle in a really unnatural way, are zoomers really putting optics on a gun they're tucking in their pants, how much youtube do I need to watch to think this is a good idea
It's too big to not just carry any compact of your choosing, and this is coming from someone who has carried a shield plus for years. The X only makes sense if you want to own ONE handgun, I could see this fitting that role, but so could a G19 or M&P9C.
>>65616575These are bigger than Sig Macros, and Macros are damn near on the edge of an all year carry gun. At that point just dress around a G19 or M&P compact.
>>65616715I do want to own ONE handgun. I'm broke with a shitty job, and I can hardly afford this. I just feel that I should work toward being able to defend myself - don't intend to carry it for some time and would plan on taking the requisite classes including medical and other forms of self defense>>65616664>>65616690The sight is a secondary thing. The main thing for me is a light because I don't drive and take the bus/walk at night often
>>65616575>what if we took a micro gun...and made it LE BIGGER for capacity and attachments and stuff!!!How long until retards come back full circle to full size handguns before going back to pocket pistols again?
>>65617075Not everyone is aware of every ripple and shift in the firearms industry. I'm just trying to see if it's a reliable gun that meets my criteria
>>65616664>>65617070If you wear baggy pants you can carry it in a pocket holster. But, adding a sight, I can guarantee you will have to open carry or wear a shoulder holster under a jacket. You MIGHT be able to get away with a very tiny light attached to the front, but you're really pushing it.I'd recommend just carrying the shield by itself in a pocket holster and carrying a small flashlight in your other pocket.
>>65617070Taurus GC3, unironically.
>>65617123Fugg, wrong pic.
>>65616575>>65616664>>65617070>>65617117Actually, nevermind. Ignore everything i just said. I just looked this gun up and thought it would just be a single stack shield with a ported barrel and an 8 round magazine. This thing is a double stack 10+ rounder with a 3.6" barrel. This is not going to fit in your pocket. So unless you plan on wearing a shoulder holster and jacket, you're not hiding it. In a shoulder holster your light and sight should be fine.
>>65616575>>65617128Try a bodyguard 2.0
>>65617128There is no reason you cannot IWB a compact with a light
>>65617143I can guarantee OP is going to be uncomfortable as fuck taking the bus and constantly walking with any 9mm on his waist or in his pocket. Especially because it's his first gun.If he wants to pocket carry, he should get the bodyguard 2.0. If he wants a 9mm with a flashlight and red dot, he should shoulder carry.
>>65616575Can't go wrong with M&P, they're the only series that got cheap plastic guns right and they actually work. I'd recommend going full circle and getting a pocket .380. It's the most simple and concealed way to carry and where most guys end up after wasting money on all sorts of other carry guns that are annoying to lug around everywhere. Once you go pocket carry you never go back, where as with belt carry you're always going to be switching it up trying to fix the discomfort and bulge which is just not fixable. It's a glaring daily inconvenience for something you'll never actually use. I've lived an incredibly dangerous life and never had to use mine.
>>65617127Got one for my girl. It really is "good enough"
>>65617127>>65617123I actually love this and the bigger g3 for having restrike capability. Makes dry fire practice simple and easy, idk why its not standard
I am a fan of mine, but have a few gripes:1. The rear optic lugs were cut to RMSc spec, not Holosun K-spec (they were too long, and my EPS Carry wouldn't sit flush). Had to take a diamond file to them and now it's fine.2. Irons needed to be drifted to be in-line with confirmed 25yd red dot zero. This is a fairly common occurrence on newer smith's. Fortunately it doesn't impact mechanical accuracy, but it shows something isn't milled perfectly straight.
