The only reason carpet bombing exists is because ww2 british bombers struggled to hit strategic targets on night raids so they decided that erasing everything in a 5 mile radius of their target was the way to go. The f15's ability to put an agm up somebody's urethra from low orbit negates the need for carpet bombing at all so I guess it would look like it already does.
