Hi all, I'll be going to get VFS done very soon after years of voice work, I tired of the feeling that I was "putting on a performance" and am hoping this will alleviate the disconnect between me and the voice anyone might hear on a given day or tone. How was your experience or someone else's experience that know of? were they happy with it? and if you haven't is it a surgery you're considering getting, I find it to be a more low priority surgery for most trans women so I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
I had femlar with Thomas about a year ago. Before my voice was alright but pretty clockable. Now, even trans people can't clock my voice. It fixed my resonance, raised my pitch by an octave and a half, and made my voice a lot brighter. I don't have issues with coughing, sneezing, and laughing anymore. It was the first surgery I got and forced me to finally come out at boymoding for eight years.
>>43691233ahhhh thats so wonderful to hear. I've yet to hear bad results but I was worried personally cause I don't love the idea of surgeries unless im sure it's something that would help me day to day and improve my well being. i'm very happy for u anonette
>>43691233post vocaroo plss
>>43691233what's the deal with gettimg a consult with him? Do I email him? call and arrange an in-person meeting I must fly to? Have a referral from my doctor faxed to him?Idk anything about femlar surgeons and this is the first name I've heard. Anywhere else to consider looking? how long is his waitlist? how far out does he schedule?
>>43691549I just had FFS last week, so I don't sound amazing. Both recordings are normal speaking voice/not putting in any effort. Before: https://voca.ro/1gucWwF9X5okAfter: https://voca.ro/1oJ2i2KRK2oN>>43691648You can email the contact email address on the website or call his office. They're pretty disorganized, so it's best to call them if you don't hear back within a week. I was able to book three months out. Cash only. ~15k. You fly to Portland. Consult on Monday. Surgery on Tuesday. Daily follow ups, and he clears you to go home Friday. As far as I know, Thomas is the only person still doing femlar.

>>43692659Would that prevent you from singing if you wanted to? Can you still yell? Also thank you! You sound a lot less hoarse here :)
