I think I gave up fully paying attention after a few seasons, and I gradually paid less and less attention to it as a second screen thing. It’s not good.BUT it has the sole positive and accurate representation of a trans man to ever exist in media.The corporate executives barred the writers from outright literally stating that the main character is a trans man, but it is laid on as thickly as possible in the finale, and the showrunners have repeatedly come out and said he was and they were gagged by the executives for X years. This is despite it being filmed in the same time period when NBC was producing a show with Laverne Cox as a tranny lawyer — as always, transphobia exclusively exists for ftms.The fanbase (what little there is) hates the ending reveal of the main character as a trans man so much that they reject it despite the writers confirming it.It’s hinted from the very first episode and is masterfully done. It’s the only well done thing in the entire show. If I ever have infinite time I want to make an edit of it that cuts out basically everything but that part of the storyline. It would be maybe 10-20 hours long and basically 10/10 television. Unfortunately it’s trapped inside of ten seasons of garbage.
