How bad is being a passing, post-everything tranny in a red state really? Places like Texas or Wyoming? They have all these spooky laws about bathrooms and IDs on the book but it seems like if you pass and come over with your birth certificate already changed you’d be fine. Or are they like six months away from opening camps?

so, one example of how things can go bad is kansas, which invalidated the IDs of every trans person who had legally changed sex, on the grounds that the sex marker on the ID had to reflect sex at birth. importantly, "sex at birth" does not mean "the sex listed on your birth certificate".
if you had your documents changed in another state, kansas does not give a shit about that. if they find out you're mtf your license has to say M or it's invalid. i recall hearing some claims that trans people who had already changed out of state documentation weren't getting issued licenses at all, though i can't find a clear case of that at the moment.

Yeah but like does the state even have enough access to federal and other-state records to get into that if you pass?
All the stuff in Kansas is happening to people who either changed in Kansas or don’t pass.
