i got hair transplants 10 days ago and I'm bored out of my mind, can't really go out and do much stuff because I look weird, i even wait until it's like midnight to get convenience store food because i don't want people to see me. what do you guys normally do during surgery recovery?
>>
>>43734342
does a hair transplant really take over 10 days to recover from? what the fuck I went back to work on day 10 from my orchi

and serious question I really thought it took like 3-5 days to recover from it
>>
what does it look like? considering one
also don't they inevitably fall out
>>
>>43734631
it falls out? I would be bullshit if I spent like 8-15k and it fell out

they hairs fall out after like a month, then starting growing back out in 5-6 months and then it's permanent. the grafts themselves are permament though.
>what does it look like?
i look kinda chopped atm desu, but here you go. i can kinda style my hair so it's not obvious but any light wind and it's all over. can't believe i went to the airport like that but hey, i didn't get misgendered at all when i flew back from thailand like a week after getting it done. the bigger problem is the donor area, i opted for fue because i didn't want a linear scar so had to shave it. was like "it's just hair it'll grow back". i don't really regret it but i still feel kinda bad
>>43734672
i spent around 230k thb on it which is probably $7k usd i think, but no it's only the actual hair that falls out, the actual grafted follicles stay but because of trauma and shock loss don't actually start growing for ages

however, you do have to shave the back of your head for fue, they shaved two patches, you can see the top patch here, it's not visible if there's no wind because the top layer of hair covers it up. the second patch is underneath (not visible in this photo). i don't know what someone would think if they saw, i think they'd probably think i had some sort of a freak incident at a hairdresser or something

Are you the same person? There's not much to do in Thailand if you aren't going outside desu. The only reason I survived SRS there is I brought my laptop. Try reading some novels on your phone or listening to videos or podcasts while playing mobile games?
>can't really go out and do much stuff because I look weird
This is a mood. I had my transplant in the US and I had to work at only 4 days after surgery. My temples would occasionally be oozing with a mix of the ATP stuff and red wound juice... Thank goodness I had my own desk area where people weren't looking at me often.
It was absolutely worth it in the end though. Haven't had to worry about my hairline ever since it gre back.
>>
>>43734342
I just pretended everything was normal and no one dared point out that I was wearing toques and eventually caps in the middle of summer all the time when I had never worn them before.
>>43734573
An orchi is easy mode it hurt way less then my hair transplant and its not like other people are going to be looking at the area with the scars everyday.
>>
I was just so fucking happy I was not going to have to deal with it any more. I think I watched a bunch of comfort anime and western animation and danced around lol.

>>43734631
>what does it look like? considering one
Fine, if you shop around for a good doctor and you take really good care of it the entire time it is healing.

>also don't they inevitably fall out
no, not if you do proper aftercare while it heals. You may continue to lose hair follicles if you don't take hair loss prevention medication, but they will be the follicles AROUND your transplanted ones. So to maintain your appearance you need to keep taking whatever you're taking.

Hair transplants are brutally painful. The only tranny surgery more painful is FFS jaw surgery.

>Are you the same person?
yes i'm the op
>There's not much to do in Thailand if you aren't going outside desu
ah, i left thailand like 2 days ago, i actually didn't see much of bangkok at all, was kinda worried about getting sick so i just stayed inside all the time and ordered grab to the condo that i rented. i'm usually really excited to like, ride public transit systems so i'm kinda sad that i didn't go on the skytrain :(
>My temples would occasionally be oozing with a mix of the ATP stuff and red wound juice
ohh, i've not had that experience, they put a dressing around, and i had it on for a day, then they took it off the next day and put another one that i had on for two days. after that i had like no discharge at all. did you go for fut or fue? i know there's some techniques without shaving but apparently they're not always as good. i also had to get all the baby hairs in the recipient area shaved so it kinda compounded on top of how chopped i ended up looking
>>43734860
yeah i agree, orchi was easy and it's not apparent that you've just had any kind of surgery. ffs was kinda brutal, but i had some people help me out when i was in the us for ffs, but here i had to do everything by myself pretty much
>no one dared point out that I was wearing toques and eventually caps in the middle of summer all the time when I had never worn them before
i'm kinda considering covering up my hair, but i'm worried it'll look even weirder. i was brave and actually flew without my hair covered up had no problems aside from like chinese man giving me a weird look at the airport departure hall. also holy shit i got ripped off so much at the airport, 135 thb for a bottle of water

oh my god i sound like an esl person, i really gotta proofread more

>if you don't take hair loss prevention medication
i don't think there's any hair loss medication that trans women need to take aside from our usual hrt regimen. if you're a guy it's usually minoxidil and fin though, right?
>>
>>43734915
I didn't see much of Bangkok either (I'm shy and nervous when alone)
>did you go for fut or fue?
Fue, though I sometimes wonder if I should've gone with the other option even if it meant losing my hair for a time (I got my transplant barely a year into transition).
>>
>>43734957
did you use minoxidil? i'm kinda considering using topical min but not sure if it's worth, my hair has generally been good and fairly stable aside from getting fucked by puberty at like 16
>>
>>43734992
I used it for about a year after my transplant before I gave up on it. I don't think I lost anything after stopping because I don't think it did anything for me in the first place.
>>
>>43734939
>i don't think there's any hair loss medication that trans women need to take aside from our usual hrt regimen. if you're a guy it's usually minoxidil and fin though, right?

Oh whoops. Sorry about that. And yes, you're correct.

t. a guy
