It was suicide wasnt it... I mean "died climbing up trying to get a better view of the moon" isnt exactly convincing Why do young famous trans women kill themselves??
>>43763618that is absolutely believable if you're on the right drugs
>>43763652Like estrogen?
>>43763618i would kill myself too if i knew my music sucked terribly but gullible autistic trannies treated me like the 2nd coming of Beethoven
we Brits die from falling off hotel balconies all the time in southern Europe mateit's like Indians and locomotives
>>43763618she was a junkie so just as likely she was just high and was doing dumb shit on drugs and fell
wow she really was a neverpasseridk it was prolly just an accident
>>43763618too bad the other sophie didn’t die in her place
>>43763725>i would kill myself too if i knew my music sucked terribly but gullible autistic trannies treated me like the 2nd coming of Beethoven/mu/ was a huge factor in SOPHIE's popularity before she came out as trans, back around like 2013 - 2015 or something. Many of them thought she was good (while assuming it was just some cis dude with a quirky artist name)
Something that is never talked about is how there's a grey area between attempting suicide and "normal" functionality that involves self destructiveness and risky behavior. Sophie's nightly ritual to go look at the moon is risky behavior that indicated she was mentally unwell, especially given the other more obvious things like her smoking habit and sexual promiscuity, I'm sure she also had a cocaine addiction. If you think about the life conditions that are usually present around suicide, it is typically a combination of extreme social alienation and rejection from community, traumatic past and poverty. While Sophie certainly did have a traumatic past she was not poor, furthermore she was very popular and surrounded by friends when she died. Something she likely *did* experience, however, which many of her interviews and gossip around her alude to is a deep sense of personal alienation arising from the specific conditions of her transsexuality. Her primarily cis friends and loved ones, especially among the cool kids' circle of the music industry simply did not fully grasp the pain she was going through and it was this that drove her to reckless behavior. Even her trans ex, tzef montana came from a significantly different world from her, being a young, andro theymab tumblr model and their highly publicized breakup over Xeon's obvious expressions of gender dysphoria come to mind.I'm reminded of the essay "faggot as gender identity, detransition as suicide" by rani baker (rest in peace) wherein she discussed her self destructiveness and how she was enabled in it due to transmisogyny. The sad reality of depression and trauma is that most people don't like and avoid the subject, often becoming frustrated over afflicted individuals morosity due to being emotionally unintelligent. If someone is actively suicidal, they are more likely to be intervened into and given some semblance of care than someone who is only passively self destructive.

Looking at the actual design of the roof imo it was rather dangerous, someone could have easily fallen off if intoxicated and the building isn't really tall enough I would consider it good suicide material.
>>43763618that's absolutely something you'd do high afpretty much me and everyone i know have almost died doing stupid shit on drugs
>>43766248Yeah this is probably the real answer
>>43766248Pretty much this. The harsh irony is the particular type of schizo cptsd'd kethead transexual she was probably would have fitted right in here or among the more esoteric wings of the trans twitter crowd & been far more understood and less alienated/better off than she was fraternising with the liberal (centre-right, IDF-funded) corpo elites and nepobabies she palled around with. The same privilege that allowed her to be as dedicated and as well-placed an artist as she was (How many people have their foot in their door with Numbers by their teens? That's not just talent) was also part of her undoing. Though to place all blame on a narrative doesn't work on its own because ultimately, if she was the sort of person who wouldn't be told "No" which both positive anecdotes by people who knew her and gossip suggest, then she was always going to place herself in risky situations for kicks or otherwise require life changes that would not have allowed her to be Sophie anymore.
>>43766996like, even the other trans people she was hanging with mostly seem really normative basic corpo Pride Parade types in their understanding of queerness and are not the sort to know terms like girltwink or unlabellable boygirlthing
