And that's the fucked up thing. If I was asked and given the option at that age to be raised as a girl, I would've said yes. Not because of who I am now, but rather girl stuff and behaviors is how I was already acting by that age. While my family was indifferent and wouldn't even have any idea where to start themselves, it was teachers and other kids who picked up queerphobic and transphobic behaviors from their parents who abused me the most.

Same. Had a "girlfriend" "dump" me at age 4 or 5 because I was too effeminate. When I changed schools in 4th grade I was called insane by a teacher for repeatedly trying to make friends only with girls. Middle school was constantly teased by girls for being sensitive and shy and having soft features. Even my asshole stepdad bullied me for being visibly gay but my actual parents just didn't seem to actually think there was anything up with me.

That really sucks and is so relatable. I'm an oldfag so the resources really weren't there for me or my parents. They were supportive in a sense but not in any informed way other than just letting me be. The only time the school got close to it was checking if my balls dropped and telling me to stop being disruptive when I was telling other kids I wanted to be a girl and getting punished for it. By highschool I was already scared cis in a sense or rather had to hide it from those who didn't know. I know its still not perfect but it's so important the newer generations have better support now.

the correct recommendation from years and years ago are that puberty blockers are supposed to be started on tanner 2 and for only 6 months to 1 year iirc
