How does /lgbt/ think we should deal with the boomer problem?
>>43777751or we could tax rich people.
>>43777759Boomers are the rich people
>>43777751Brutally. I'm having to deal with my dad's stupid repressed emotional shit at the moment, and I've finally seen him for the spoiled brat he always was. And the number of times I've heard my mum and her friends makes jokes about "skiing trips" (spending the kids inheritance) made me realize two things:1. They ain't leaving shit behind for their kids or grandkids, their plan is to use it all up before they die2. I don't owe these aresholes anything. They want to talk about what they "gave up for me" but they never want to talk about the times I actually needed help and they weren't there.
>>43777854To be honest they don't owe you any inheritance either, they worked for their money and they have every right to spend them however they want.
>>43777759canada doesnt have rich people. they all live in better countries.
>>43777764my nan lives in an apartment smaller than mine in a worse location. It's not old people, but the people in charge of companies and shit. Galen Weston is a prick.
>>43777927Should have made money during the greatest economy in history they squandered
>>43777932You have more changes becoming a millionaire in this day and age compared to any time in the history of humanity.
>>43777942Okay boomie, time for bed.
>>43777911No they fucking didn't. They inherited it from their parents who'd guaranteed them a life of ease and comfort by working for little else since the end of WW2. That's where that sense of entitlement that you're internalizing comes from. They were heirs to the crown well into their 50s. All of the privileges and none of the responsilibilities. At the age of 20 my dad owned an MG, which was a very expensive sports car, that my grandparents bought with the money they earned running a bottle shop, and then the government paid for him to go to law school. When I was 18 I inherited my grandparents old shitbox 4 cylinder that my father didn't pay a cent for, but I was still expected to be grateful for as he kicked my out on the street while I was in the middle of my first depressive episode. By the time I could actually go to uni, the government had turned Australian universities into a "profit centers" meaning 80% of the students barely spoke english, and every fucking cent of it became a debt I'd have to pay back later. Don't tell me they earned it, they were given it.
>>43777942Yeah and ALMOST buy a 50 year old house in a shithole suburb for that because boomers needed real estate price high to pay for the 30 year retirements they hadn't saved for.
>>43777959You're poor>>43777971There are plenty of low prices areas but many of you will refuse because they're mainly black neighborhoods.
>>43777984Yeah where there are no fucking jobs.
>>43777966Same here in NZ. My parents are just after the boomer generation but the insane amount of wealth hadn't been quite squandered yet. UNIVERSITY WAS FREE. Both of them traveled the world on pittances
>>43778007You will complain about everything, jobs are everywhere.
>>43777984And "low prices" doesn't mean affordable, it means mid-high six figures.
>>43778011No they're not. Boomers outsourced everything to China remember? You expect me to pay off a half-million dollar mortgage working retail/hospitality that I have to drive 90 minutes every day to get to? Coz that shit doesn't math.
>YOU WILL PAY FOR MY MISTAKES SONNY AND LIKE IT
COVID-26, but it needs a longer incubation period so that governments don't immediately pull the plug.
>>43777751I have genuinely advocated a full boomercide many many times and will continue to do so. Yes my grandparents included.
>>43777922We have some resident billionaires we could guillotine
>>43777911Does anyone have that compilation of American politicians using walkers, mobility scooters and having their health fall apart in public?Grandpa needs to fucking die.But they're going to squander all the wealth of the world on their own end of life care, something we likely will never have because they cannot comprehend that yes, humans do in fact have an end to their lives.
>>43777764the rich people are the rich people, regardless of age, race, nationality, religion, ethnicity, language, or gender. stop falling for identity politics
>>43777984I wouldn't mind black neighborhoods if they weren't so loud at all hours of the night
>>43777751Deport all rich people to Russia to go into the front lines
>>43777751I absolutely mean this with 100% of my heart, and have been saying this for years now, so no its not just a mania or psychosis thing. If you got rid of every single person over the age of 60, or at least just. Took away their driver's liscences, right to vote or influence anything whatsoever, and right to use the internet the world would be so much better. Put demented old people in solitary confinement desu with prison rations if they refuse to give up their lease on life.
>>43778074It's not identity politics because when boomers were young the wealth distribution was much much flatter. And they benefitted from that. They also benefited from the wealth distribution becoming more and more skewed towards older people as time went on. Mostly due to real estate wealth. Let's be fucking clear about what the ordinary fucking boomer expected to happen. They expected to be able to charge massively inflated prices for their family home that they'd already lived in for most of it's useful life to their own children so they could pay for a luxury retirement. And they got it! They voted for it, they made clear they were voting for it, the politicians knew exactly how to buy their vote, and that's what happened. In fact they started importing homebuyers to outbid their own children because they wanted even more while their kids got even less. That's ORDINARY WORKING CLASS BOOMERS. This isn't about IDpol, this is about the personal responsibility they've been preaching for the last 40 years. We don't owe them a fucking thing. We owe OURSELVES at least a fraction of what they got.
>>43778068>>43778099>>43778110Reminder this is what boomers believe. This was published.
>>43778135Where does that idiot think the wealth of the country is going. That is actually my favorite boomerism >I paid taxes therefore the government owes me welfareLike they actually thought their taxes were their savings account.
>>43778033This was entirely preventable. We knew about demographic ageing for at least 20 years, they even taught us about it in school. Our current rent system is not equipped to support that, but there are systems that are. Unfortunately, democracies don't lend themselves to actual reform because politicians will only enact policies with visible short term benefits so they can have the laurels when the next election cycle rolls around in 4 years.
>>43778135>>43778154Why are boomers like this
>>43777751>Let's starve the elderly and keep funding the immigrants that were supposed to make us richer but clearly aren't because WE'RE IN DEBT
>>43778033That bald man is hot
>>43777751The Day of the Pillow fast approaches...
>>43777984Living next to black residents that are poor isnt the worst part. Its when they bring over their relatives from a drug ring to pack a house party only for it to end in a shoot out.
>>43777751i wont get a pensionso why do these fucks?
>>43777854>2. I don't owe these aresholes anything. They want to talk about what they "gave up for me" but they never want to talk about the times I actually needed help and they weren't there.Real AF!! I've never had a boomer lift a finger to do anything of actual substance for me, but they always talk about things like having to see me off to school as a sacrifice they made for me, lol!!
>>43777751Stop treating them with kid gloves. Start treating them with the same lack of care and concern they show you.
>>43777764useful idiot
