The trials of being a tranny are so painful and gratuitous, I’d much rather just live a monastic life where I don’t have to face the hate and I can transition and overcome my desires
>>

i think about how needing to desire hrt/a more passing appearance/surgeries to feel peace is unfortunate quite often. i wish repping worked
>>
>>43787731
pooner here and one of the things that made me wish i could be a pooner is bc i wanted to be a monk lol or live that kind of isolated contemplative lifestyle and being a woman isn't rlly conducive to that
>>
so incredibly based
>>
they'll only take you in at a monastery if you have zero debt :(
>>
>>43787731
Yeah but I can't join one cause I'm a tranny hon. Sigh.
>>
>>43788105
Wait they dont let you in for that?
>>
>>43788258
I imagine I would be, as the majority of Christian religious orders are single sex and I'd have to fit enough with one or the other even on top of being a troon.
>>
>>43787731
i seriously think about becoming a monk at least once a month

I am highly critical of some parts of Buddhism but it is the only mainstream religion I respect

I more gear towards gnostic practices but gnosticism and buddhism are just two different cultures realizing the same truth
>>
>>43788309
what aspects of buddhism are you critical of?
>>
>>43788340
The nonviolence is a major one and has historically been a down fall of Buddhist peoples
>>
>>43788360
i can def see how that can be seen as a negative. Especially nowadays when some of the worst evils are afflicting our societies. though, i believe it is its own discipline.

Plus with the history of asian martial arts you can see how the "nonviolence" shifted to "dont kill" lul

yeah,, i definitely strongly consider it or options similar to it. i already live a very ascetic lifestyle and avoid unnecessary social contact a lot and try to practice solitude as much as possible; but my awareness still makes me think of other paths. one of my problems is it's hard for me not to be critical of mainstream religion, i'm the furthest thing from atheist but i think once you stop being secular religions always lose their purpose and meaning etc. religion is the opiate of the masses, not of the individual.

i can at least say i don't really just want it for the sake of escapism (which is the reason most people turn to religion later in life) and rather as a real solution to some of my problems. also not for the sake of repping obviously

If you meet the Buddha, kill the Buddha.
If you meet a patriarch, kill the patriarch.
If you meet an arhat, kill the arhat.
If you meet your father and mother, kill your father and mother.
If you meet your relatives, kill your relatives.
Only then will you attain liberation.

the sentiment is basically that you don't need any teachers or masters and that these can actually hinder your attainment of enlightenment; you already have everything you need and only need to find it in yourself
>>

no but i do want to shave my hair off

I dig this. I've been attempting meditation with this in mind. Organized religions never sat right with me like I think the followers mean well, but the hierarchy becomes totally corrupt over time. Probably due to this fake monetary system we're all forced into but idk
>>
>>43787731
I could never be a monk, a nun i could be but i obviously cant
>>
>>43787874
do cloistered nuns not do that?
>>
>>43787731
I've already bought a kasaya and started meditating every other day. It has helped to ease my dysphoria. Would recommend.

I knew a girl who went to plum tree village, she was kicked out for being overly emotional though I'm not sure the details. I honestly think it can be hard to be trans in a monastary because you have more skin in the game with regards to the political situation, it can be easier to get attached.

i have dreamt for many years of becoming a monk! probably since i was fourteen or fifteen...a life dedicated to personal enlightenment has always seemed a beautiful idea to me. i want to practice martial arts and Think all day. someday i hope to achieve this somehow, or at least a more realistic permutation
