what is the best tier 2 blue american city to live in as an /lgbt/ and why is it chicago, il?
>>43804110Im moving to Chicago at the end of the month. Is it actually good or is it a psyop
Chicago is alright other than the extreme racial segregation, and I mean like multi-generational neighborhood segregation, not like how in Brookyn you can have an ethnic neighborhood that was Italian in your grandpa's time Russian in your dad's time and Fujianese now. More like "this has ALWAYS been a polish neighborhood and ALWAYS WILL BE". Just kinda weird, not my vibe.
>>43804110What does tier 2 mean?
>>43804110chicago tier 2?? theyre the 3rd largest city in the us???
>>43804381i said what i said
>>43804414can you elaborate? what would a tier 1 city be?
>>43804381Chicago is one of the worst cities for career advancement. You will get paid way lower than way smaller cities like Boulder, Austin, Seattle, anywhere in California, etc. Unlike SF or NYC there is kinda a cap on your pay for a lot of roles and companies will be really reluctant to hire you for higher positions. Most jobs that break 300k will be boomer-locked or require special connects lik big law, or are things you have to already have started doing earlier on like prop tradingt. remote SWE in Chicago having a hard time advancing my career>>43804110If you have a place though, the hookup scene is nice. The women from Chicago are bitchy and spoiled and have high standard but every once in a while you can bag someone out of your league who moves fresh in from Wisconsin or Ohio
>>43804110Is this what you're talking about? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranally_city_rating_system
Buffalo is better. The only thing Chicago has going for it is VCFMW.
>>43804430Just say it. Chicago fucking sucks. Half the city is a slum. Everyone's a selfish asshole. Let's not beat around the bush.
>>43804422NYC and LA>>43804422basically where do successful/ambitious people want to live
>>43804445Oh wait according to this, Chicago is a tier 1 city. Wtf is OP talking about?
>>43804124is there fucking anything to do in Chicago other than being knifed or going for a walk in a drug filled park?
The city is Philadelphia. It is the city of brotherly love. It is the city for me.

>>43804886>hikingi guess, if that's what you call stepping on dirty needles...
>>43804124chicago is like good but sucks at the same time. downtown and north side are good just expensive. but growing up on the south side was like everyone’s so closed off and it’s all just relationships of convenience and no one stays around and u can’t cross wtvr specific street at night or else you’ll get robbed. but downtowns lit and summers always lit trust.>>43804706um do drugs in the park and ride around aimlessly in the car duh. also u just get shot not stabbed
>>43804110toronto
>>43806687Toronto isn't an American city, but it is a good one. I live in Buffalo, so I get a lot of Ontario radio signals, and it's pretty nice. I'm moving to Fort Erie soon
>>43804886if its mental awareness day at your company you can also paddle the chicago river
>>43804143that sounds like a good thing if anything
>>43804929Is the far north side more affordable then the rest of the north side? I remember some other anons bring it up as a good place to move.
>>43804529No one wants to live in LA they just have to for work. They want to live in San Fran
>>43804929Downtown and Northside are still infinitely cheaper than NYC or California
>>43809643It's literally the opposite jej, everyone bitches about being forced to go back to office at their tech companies in SFI guess this is /lgbt/ so anons care less about gender ratios for dating, but anywhere foids have too much social power will make it miserable for you if you're a straight or straight leaning moid
>>43804110chicago trannies are downright retarded
>>43804143What about the super ghetto on the west side, east of Western Avenue, where all at heroin addicts hang out?
>>43809884mostly mexicans there now
>>43804124It is the most bland and boring place I have ever lived. It was kinda cool in some aspects before covid. Now it feels like a third world-country. There is decent architecture (at least by Americans standards, which isn't saying much) in the downtown area to look at, so that's nice I guess. Outside of the loop/downtown I find it to be the most depressing city I've ever been to, let alone lived. It's just endless rows of these shitty, ugly brick apartment buildings that look like the movie Hostel takes place inside. One of the highlights of the city being public transportation that is mostly on time and decent is completely squandered by the dregs that inhabit the city in the south and west side. I have seen people smoking drugs on the trains, injecting them, screaming at people and begging them for things (this one is somewhat common). One time I had headphones in and was riding the L, when everybody was frantically getting off when we stopped. Something was clearly wrong, so I followed the crowd, and as the train was getting to continue on, through the window some black dude was squatting in the middle of the train car taking a shit. You will be bothered constantly by random black people who were spawned into the instance 30 seconds ago with the express purpose of ruining what would be a perfectly comfy train ride where you could focus on your phone or a book, just to ramble some incoherent nonsense at you, harass you, beg you for money, or worse. Also the food is absolute dogshit, don't let anyone gaslight you otherwise. I have tried so many different places that were highly popular and regarded, and they were all like 30% as good as random restaurants in small towns I've lived in. Overall just a shitty miserable place. Cold, windy, just blegh.
>>43804124they're gonna shoot you, with a gun
>>43809830>but anywhere foids have too much social power will make it miserable for you if you're a straight or straight leaning moidthis, where are the nice places where people (feeeemaloroastoids) are not retarded?
>>43804110going of this chart >>43804445 id say it's either Portland or ann arbor.
