transbians, what perfumes are your favorite? do you buy perfume? what perfumes get you the most compliments from other trans women?

I'll start:
- ghost in the shell by etat libre d'orange
- fire by the maker
- van exstasyx by lorenzo pazzaglia
>>
I'm also curious about what perfumes bottoms like to smell on tops, and vice versa...hmm
>>
>>43804986
love by gingham is a good one
>>
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille or Noir de Noir for winter :>
Chanel Boy for the office usually (androgynous powdery smell it's good)
I've got a bunch of cheaper summery stuff, anything that smells like the beach or sunscreen I love.

I usually sport a delicate bouquet of mildew, depression, and stale cigarettes and that's assuming I'm not blasting you with my dragon breath
>>
>>43805231
hmm, I'm not super familiar with that. how does it smell on you? I don't own a bunch of really sweet perfumes and I find them cloying sometimes, but I do like them on other people
>>43805264
adding to my scentsplit order for this month :) I'll give these a try! I wonder if you'd like safanad by parfums de marly...or even devil tender from ex nihilo, that's one of my all time favorites
>>43805373
I like smelling people's breath for some reason so if you're ever in the US I'll drop by
>>
>>43804986
eye of newt
dogsex
>>
>>43805547
I'll check those out on fragrantica, thx girl
>>
I'm not big into perfume since I naturally smell sweet but I had this victoria's secret hardcore rose that my mom gave me once and I actually used it, idk where it is, probably left it at her house.
>>
>>43805774
well lucky you :) perfume isn't just about smelling sweet though, in fact I prefer to smell like things that can't be achieved naturally. have you ever tried any other perfumes?
>>
>>43805932
No, I never went out of my way to buy any and I'm only out to my mom so I just get those weird bleach-smelling men's perfumes from the others.
>>
>>43804986
I dont know much about perfumes, and usually I dont like using it, I prefer to smell naturally,
but there's one a friend of mine gave me as a gift and I use it in every special ocasion becauser I really like the smell, it is nina ricci - nature.
it has a flowery smell with slight green apple vibes.
>>
>>43805952
all perfume is unisex as far as I'm concerned, but yeah I don't like most "men's" perfume either. the super ambroxan heavy scents make me feel strange. you can get cheap samples online or at the mall if you're interested, but I'm getting the impression that you're really young so maybe you don't have that liberty. it could be fun to try though, I love picking random perfumes to sample!
>>43806000
I've been interested in finding the perfect bright fruitlike smell to layer with a warmer / spicy perfume just as an experiment, so I will check this one out. the only thing I have that's close is a demeter's peach perfume which is really nice but maybe not my style...maybe you'd like it though
>>
>>43804986
they probably like axe body spray and think its classy cause theyre straight men with a fetish

carolina herrera good girl (inb4 agp) blush elixir is what ive been using for a bit, think im gonna make it my signature. it has great sillage and it smells really rich and sweet and plush even before the dry down. men notice me a lot more when i wear it and i get compliments on it. i wish women would hit on me instead of men tho T-T

btw where does everyone else fall on the quadrant? I think mine is pretty accurate actually lol
>>
>>43804986
i have a bottle of jo malone blackberry & bay that my mom gave me
it's good but very short-lasting
t. bi but close enough
>>
>>43804986
Do any anon's know of a perfume that smells like Pomengrante and is floral/feminine?
>>
>>43806391
I don't buy much sweet perfume but I will get a sample of that because I love vanilla.
also the only perfumes I own on this whole chart are le labo's another 13 and the two maison margielas...so I guess I'm bottom left! lol
>>43806421
how string would you say the bay is? the fragrantica entry looks pretty interesting...
>>
fuck I meant *strong. how strong is it. but if it's string let me know I guess
>>43806503
a pomegranate scent would be really nice actually woah I've never smelled one
>>
>>43805547
I don't live in the middle America. Sorry. I'm sure there are plenty of other people with severe depression that leads to bad oral hygiene tho
>>
>>43806503
Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir mb?
>>
>>43805318
lmao
>>
>>43806548
>how string would you say the bay is? the fragrantica entry looks pretty interesting...
i don't have much to compare it to but it feels kind of medicinal to me, i can smell the bay much more
my cism friend saw it on my nightstand and bought the exact same bottle so now we smell the same ig
>>
>>43806141
I have the liberty to do so, I'm not that young, I just don't bother with buying perfume

cigarettes
>>
>>43806623
It's pretty expensive but I like the notes so I might have to try it ^^
>>
>>43806873
weirdly I kind of used to enjoy the smell of marlboro reds. quit smoking when I was like 22 or 23 fortunately though lol
>>
>>43806923
you could always get a small amount from a decant site! that'd be cheaper

i quit like 3 years ago but i still get cravings. im a fucking zillenial emo kid, im always gonna be like this
>>
I like the ones that make someone smell like a vanilla cinnamon roll
>>
>>43807101
lol agreed. I've bought a few gourmand-style perfumes, but mostly for other people.

- giardini di toscana's bianco latte is a classic obviously
- demeter's cinnamon bun lacks some depth to my nose, like a lot of demeter stuff. but it's very very pleasant
- lorenzo pazzaglia's van py rhum is a really warm and rich vanilla
>>

i dont use perfumes anymore. im content with my natural girlsmell and so are my friends and my repper ex apparently. low key my sweat smells really good thanks to hrt and it never stank even before either
>>
>>43807214
I don't use flux much anymore but back when I was in robotics the smell of flux used to be like...kind of arousing!? the smell of rosin core solder wire isn't really the same somehow but it's also good. the smell of hot electronics, or a warm server room, or smoke from soldering...oh my god. if you know of any perfumes that smell like that then PLEASE let me know. I'm so serious
>>43807236
thanks :) I LOVE collecting and learning about perfume, it's so fun to smell interesting new scents and try to identify the notes. it's one of a very few things that I intentionally collect.
>>43807288
based desu
>>
the main component of the "electronic" smell I'm talking about might just be ozone. still though, there are other things to it, right? what's a metallic-y perfume...
>>
>>43807728
yeah i think it's prolly warmth + ozone + whatever oxidizes from the solder/board
also might depend if you're heating adjacent components, idk if they'd smell, obvs the board + like certain polymers and adhesives might but they wouldn't contribute to the metallic-ness
>>
>>43807823
that makes sense. I think "metallic" isn't really the word I should be using but yes you're right. apparently ganymede by marc-antoine barrois is close. the notes listed on cero by agar olfactory look MASSIVELY interesting, I'm definitely going to check that out. I have a bottle of demeter's thunderstorm that has a very strong ozone smell, maybe layering those two perfumes would yield the result I want...?
>>
>>43804986
carmina creed, poison girl
>>
>>43807986
huh, I've never smelled carmina before, that sounds really nice! I'm gathering so many perfume recommendations right now...yessss...
and poison's legendary for a reason obviously
>>
>>43807961
imma be honest i have no clue on perfumes, i need to go out and test some again rly, fun but expensive tho
surviving off a DKNY MyNY sample atm lmfao, was too "musky" for me when I got it but i've kinda aged into it now
>>
>>43808014
perfumes can be pretty accessible if you buy decants! which is what I do before I commit to like, a full-size bottle. I pretty much only blind-buy full-size perfume if I know I'm gonna like it. I was foolish and blind-bought a $400 ex nihilo once, but I did end up loving it (luckily) lol. I like to buy small samples for like between $10 and $30 on sites like scentsplit. it's a good way to try new perfumes, especially if you don't live near somewhere that stocks a shitton of perfume samples
>>
>>43808166
ever thought about/tried to make your own b4? idk how accessible it'd be, sounds fun tho
like i watched a doc once where some guy ran a perfumery where he matched discontinued perfumes, was pretty cool
>$400 perfume
wtfff, damn
>especially if you don't live near somewhere that stocks a shitton of perfume samples
yee i live near town where there's a few places, i just gotta leave the house first, will keep decants in mind if they're lacking tho ty
>>
>>43808290
oooh, making my own would be really fun! I would have no idea what I was doing though. maybe one day I'll try making one just for fun. what was the documentary, if you remember the title? I'd love to watch that
>>
>>43808332
sry i cant remember honestly
tbf idk how much of a docu it was, or it might've been part of a bigger one, it was basically a place ppl went if they had a small amount of perfume left and they could recreate/approximate it from scent alone
iirc it was on yt but keyword searching the internet nowadays is impossible
>>
>>43808462
I will try to find it! was it yusuf bhai by any chance?
>>
>>43808596
might've been, i thnk it was in some asian/middle eastern country, like egypt or smth, i really cant remember sorry nona but yeah i g2g to sleep now, was nice talking (:
>>
dolce&gabbana's light blue is my go to lately
>>

>>
>>43808804
hmm, I'm a bit iffy on citrus perfumes but maybe you can sell it a bit to me, how sharp would you say the citrus notes are? do you find it mellows out after drying down?

recently, i've been reaching for strange heavens out of the blue by clive christian and deixis by fzotic. then just spray whatever clean musk or green scent that has my attention that week on my clothes to keep it """"""cute"""""" so to speak and break up the scent profile. i'd be curious to hear of any jasmine / tobacco fragrances you like
>>
>>43809669
jasmin et cigarette
>>
oh you know, since charlotte mentioned a powdery perfume earlier in the thread -
I was reminded when I got out of the shower just now about toskovat's Я and I put some on. now THAT is a powdery perfume. it's so sweet, rich, and smooth - yet, I can't seem to pick out any individual notes aside from vanilla, cloves, and a general "fruit" scent. it's comforting yet unfamiliar, extremely sweet yet not cloying at all.
I guess "unusual" is sort of what toskovat is known for though (and yes I found out about them through inexcusable evil lol). this perfume is kind of awesome, I would love to smell it on someone else
>>
>>43804986
I wear coconut and chocolate to attract a BBC BVLL
>>
>>43809669
ha, you made me realize that maison margiela's jazz club might be the only perfume I have with a tobacco note, actually...deixis sounds absolutely fascinating though, adding that to my list for sure!! also nice arknights picture lol
>>43809750
I will have to give this a try!
>>
>>43809973
tabac rouge is nice
>>
>>43807728
odeur 53, fat electrician, ganymede, dent de lait, i have these and they’re all vaguely metallic
>>
>>43810106
oh daaaamn that looks right up my alley!! thank you :) looks like it'd be absolutely stunning in cold weather. how's the projection in your experience, and do you ever find it to be too much on the sweet side?
>>43810170
holy shit odeur 53 looks like it might exactly what I need, thank you! definitely was already planning on picking up ganymede and fat electrician, and dent de lait sounds so tempting too...omg I'm about to end up ordering like 30 perfume samples lol.
odeur 53 looks like it has a lot of layering potential, do you ever wear it with anything else? seems like it could offer a lot of intrigue to another perfume, maybe a really one-note perfume
>>
I wear Tom Ford - Lost cherry and Tom Ford - Soleil blanc
>>
>>43810219
it performs very nicely, and it's definitely on the sweeter side but i personally don't find it overly cloying. not insanely expensive either
>>
The only thing close that I genuinely like is fenugreek oil
>>
>>43810219
i usually don’t layer, but i imagine the inkiness of akro/the earthiness of celadon could mix well
>>

huh, thought i attached this image
>>
I just spray my lapel with a pina colada scented air freshener
>>
>>43810299
these seem very popular, I can't even believe I haven't picked up so much as a sample of lost cherry yet desu
>>43810302
nice, thank you! I will most definitely be getting that.
>>43810381
interesting, noted!!
>>43810395
my first thought was "you cannot be serious" but hey if it smells good it smells good lol
