Methy has trifled with me for the last time. He still has not learned his lesson and continues to deliberately provoke me.

I am therefore declaring Holy boomer Fatwah effective immediately. He has one hour to withdraw from The Gay General and signal his surrender. He is to be banished till the end of summer or my generous Second Strike protocol will trigger and he will be annihilated from orbit.

Anyone wishing to make pleas for mercy upon him had better do it soon.

Oh hello, are you the manatee anon I had a convo with a week or so ago? How are you doing, have you been up to anything, or are you just chilling at home? I believe the seal in the OP image is a seal known as Kroshik, who is Ladoga ringed seal which is found in only one lake in the world. Not a sea lion, again look at the ears they're holes not little floppy ears.

There really is no gay or straight people. Its not some innate state of being. I cant believe we are still carrying this mind virus from over a hundred years ago. These are vaguely useful terms for declaring social conformity or rejection, but thats about it. Its just a statement about values, not some medical condition.

Homosexuality is a daily choice of being gay. Heterosexuality is a daily choice of not being gay. It's an ongoing choice we make each day. Not a one time state. Not a one and done. We must constantly choose men everyday. And straights have to constantly reject men everyday.

The whole premise is pointedly absurd. The whole idea was to goad people into doing exactly what we are doing right now, finding sublimative ways to discuss sex. Its why I say commercial porn is basically the same thing. Its one guy encouraging other males to think fixate on sex. Pushing it to no end is the problem, not really the incidental phenomenon. Its the constant encouragement of focus on vice. So if someone makes a choice to give up on traditional values, theres really no meaningful distinction. They can both go from a natural situational incidence to obsession with hedonism.

Thank you, thats very kind. I do tend to bore people though, its only natural for me here. Marine life is wonderful, especially mammals. There sure is a lot of other weird stuff out there though. Just the other day I was wowed by a video of a jellyfish. Theres always something interesting in nature. Every day I notice it. What always blows my mind is how old it all is, all these creatures.

Im rambling again though. I will try to find another animal to post on this cluttered machine. I am presently distracted with the Fatwah and all.

Manatees are so precious. I'm really appreciative these lovely sea potatoes are not extinct. In the 70's there were only an estimated few hundred of them left. However due to protection laws, there are now around 9 to 12,000 estimated to be in Florida. (´▽`)

You are to signal your surrender to the terms stated. You said life was better when you werent here. Might be time to prove it. You are constitutionally unable to mend your ways and plan to be a cancer here for everyone forever.

Second Strike will launch in T -15 minutes. Results will be posted tomorrow.

You will surrender immediately or not, but you will make the choice. Drop trou, lower your panties and prepare to be boarded.

Omg I had no idea it was so dire with them, just like Timurs pandas, only about 10k left in the wild.

I agree, it is wonderful that we still have them at all. I was just reading about a local species of critter that went extinct in my parts from hunting. It was very sad to read.

Sorry I have so few water animals to post. I am forever between hard drives and its just a cluttered mess of data. I have so many nicer ones but they are unreachable right now.

Yeah wildlife can be very fragile, and humans are (mostly) to blame. Especially animals that exist on pretty much one island, they usually have it the most rough through history, like with the Dodo or the Island Wren. One thing that always makes me feel better. Is when an animal is thought to be extinct, but then is found only to still be surprisingly still alive. 2 examples that come to mind would be. The black footed ferret, and the New Zealand Takahe
>black footed ferret
It was declared extinct in the 70's when the last surviving ferret died in captivity, and everyone thought they were gone for good. Until a farmer in Wyoming noticed his dog had brought him a dead ferret. Fortunately he recognized it, and notified his local wildlife services, and they were able to delist them as extinct.
>Takahe
It's a flightless bird found in New Zealand, kinda like the dodo bird. It was declared extinct in the 1800s, which no sightings of it for 50 years. Until it was discovered in a isolated mountain range. In the 40s, and though breeding programs there is now an estimated 500 of them left.

Stories like these make me hopeful that someday the thylacine will be found in the jungles of New Guinea. Although I'm very doubtful... it would be cool to see modern recorded videos of one.

Thats inspiring. I wonder if we will ever be able to grow extinct animals. They would have to be taken care of, of course. It would be cruel to bring back an animal that has no ecosystem to go home to and suffer the modern world. But at least we could pamper the individual critter with love.

I always like this video. It shows a rescue being released, and he is torn between his caretaker and the wild ocean, and finally, after some overwhelming choices, decides to be free in his ocean home as a host of loving humans look on.

Also I should add, in regards to the Stephens Island wren.
It was a tiny flightless songbird endemic to New Zealand. Though historically widespread across the New Zealand mainland. They were mostly wiped out by invasive rats, with a small number of them only being found on Stephens Island. However a man was stationed at a lighthouse on the Stephens Island, and unfortunately he had a pregnant cat, which gave birth. And the cats ended up wiping out the entire population in less than a year, since they had no natural defence against the invasive felines. Truly a tragic end to such a beautiful creature. If only he didnt have a cat, maybe they'd still be alive today, who knows?

If hypothetically we did bring an animal back from extinction, it would probably be raised in captivity, until the researchers could find a sanctuary to house them where they wouldn't decimate the already existing ecosystem.

Yeah I love cats but get irate when people let them wander areas not meant for them. I had a shit neighbor once who would do this with several cats who were always terrorizing my poor squirrels, rabbits and birds.

I had a rabbit last year visit, shown here, "Fat Bunny". But I think she died over winter and a new one came, but disappeared also. I notice the local hawk population seems to be flourishing a lot lately and suspect thats why I am seeing fewer bunnies and squirrels.
