The cishet perspective on queer relationships is a mirage.
The reality is that queer people are broken by their queerness, and you're broken too meaning you're always in a relationship between broken people.
The idea that another person, cishet or queer, can save you is itself a sign of the deep brokeness within you, and you're seeking out someone equally broken to be the non-broken partner so that you can be the broken one.
But it doesn't work that way.

The reality is that you don't need romance right now, like most men in the english speaking world you need therapy. Modern society is inherently anti-human, it's psychologically and emotionally toxic, but the clearest gender divide of all is that cishet men do not seek help for their inevitable problems.

what can therapy do about late stage capitalism that a bunch of video essays can't?

HEAPS.
Not dealing with our mental health issues is what's making capitalism "late stage".

Mental health is not a luxury. It's not an afterthought. It's an investment in the health and productivity of the taxpaying workforce.

Understanding your emotions and mental health needs, learning to practice self-care and self regulation, not only makes you better equipped to deal with the challenges of a digital society that our brains are not even remotely adapted to, but encouraging other, particularly men, to do the same means their propensity for social disruption declines.
