It is happening right now and being reinforced all the time. You can be aware of your socialization, its implications and effects, and become a better person in this process of learning about it and challenge it. But you'll never be able to throw away all the parts of it that you consider to be bad. You can't even get rid of all the parts of your socialization that you can perceive that limit you or hurt yourself and others, no matter how much scrutiny and hard work you do in that regard. Because it's already a part of who you are and you never have full control over this.
