I think there is a resurgence of transphobia because at this point in time gays have not yet learned how to be gender expansive. And I think we are going to be part of the throes of that transformation, which must take place. Homosexuality is not going to be the monosexual, staid, cisgender identity it once was in the last century. Trans women are going to be at the center of that. It’s a huge transformation for gays to make. They are now going into a multicultural mode and trans women will be resented because of our leading role. But without that leading role and without that transformation, homosexuality will not survive.
