I watched the pilot and the 2nd episode and so far it seems to me like Jax being a bad guy is really overblown by the fandom.
Like, so far he’s just been a little snarky and that’s it. In the 2nd episode simulation he wanted to do violent shit and derail the main storyline that Caine has set up, but so what? It’s a fictional world with no consequences. Why wouldn’t you experiment and try to have fun with it?
Without getting into spoilers, does he get a lot worse as the series goes on or is the fandom just filled with autistic Mr. Enter types who want there to be no conflict between characters without understanding that that is what makes anything interesting in the first place?

It's pretty clear that abstracted characters aren't dead. They still have a degree of lucidity and memory retention. Maybe viewers are impatient and want everything to be resolved onscreen now now now but Jax's arc was pretty clear on all of this. Not every issue is something that can be fixed "just like that" by the power of friendship or whatever and many times they require a lot of privacy and patience. There's a reason the ending segment showed IRL Jax as an obvious boymoder rather than an out tranny with new pronouns and so on and honestly the latter would have felt like a blatant flattening of the character to me.

Anyways Jax's behaviour wasn't really considered that out of pocket prior to like the mid-2010s. I mean, I acted kind of like that when I was younger. And I remember feeling extremely shitty and cringey about it in retrospect but I've met a few of my old classmates since that time and they tell me they always liked me regardless, including the gigawoke ones.
