Do you struggle with weight?

I've been trying to gain weight for like a year+ with little progress

Hi, we're overweight, bordering into obese /~\
5'11 220lbs
We used to cycle through depressive phases where we'd eat for comfort, before we moved, it was commonly takeout, stuff like burgers and fried food, most of all though, soda makes you gain weight.
We're working losing that weight, we've changed our diet quite a bit, and we've started working out, but your best bet is going overboard, constantly.
If you're trying to gain weight, you should be eating not only unhealthily, but with excessive portions, you should *feel* uncomfy with how much you ate.
From what we've heard, alot of people like to get those absurdly big ice cream shakes from like sonic and dairy queen to gain weight.

I am a bit of the opposite with depression, it's really hard for me to have the energy to really eat anything.

Unfortunate, maybe try to train yourself to find dopamine through food?
Not sure, desu, envious anyway, wish we didn't have the energy to eat.
Find yourself a feeder bf or something

I meal prep most of my foods, occasionally get shitty american fast food and snacks (like during finals week). Cuisine is largely just asian food mixed with like an occasional american cold meal items. Should learn how to cook better :/

mmhm struggle with weight. I'm 5'4, 106lbs. Been desperately trying to gain weight the past year but I just keep fluctuating around the 100-110 range sadly. Supposedly according to my calorie count, I'm eating a calorie surplus but I have no clue whats going on. Maybe I just need to add more saturated fats to my diet. Sorry, on the same boat here and I can't offer much advice.

I'll try to eat tastier foods for dopamine. I tried eating really healthy to gain weight initially which did work until i got hit with more depression.
A feeder bf sounds amazing but I live in bad area.
Hugs.

mirtazapine is an atypical antidepressant that you can get prescribed for at a low dose for insomnia or depression (and insomnia) at higher doses. it works completely different to other classes of antidepressants like SSRIs so none of the typical antidepressant side effects. At a low dose it'll just make you sleepy when you take it (at night), it'll boost your appetite massively, and it'll raise your mood slightly
t. on it and finally gaining weight

I did meal prep for a while but eating it was really difficult for me, I can never really find something that tastes good enough that isn't slop.

I'm 5'2 and was initially 89lbs, I got to 100lbs but after I started dropping and I've just been at 94-96lbs forever. I'm sorry you're dealing with the same issue.

Eating is hard, feel you nona.

My backup plan for depressive seasons where I just lose all my will to live/feel overwhelmed to cook or self care is to buy like a bulk of nutritional shakes like ensure so I'm can at least have something to maintain my weight.

The upside is it sometimes encourages me to get back on my ass b/c I realize having to drink protein and nutrition shakes is kinda sad and pathetic.

That's the antidepressant I'm currently on and I feel much hungrier but I can still hardly finish meals. It's been absolutely fucking my sleep.
>>
>>43897226
seconding this >>43897207 buy those powdered meal things, drink one every single day. Takes a few minutes to make one and you can easily drink 4-600 calories even when you're not hungry. Make a habit of it and it will become easier
>>43897226
try eating smaller meals more frequently. You can also try to keep calorie dense snacks you love around the areas you spend the most time. make the snacks visible and easily accessible. The lower the friction between you eating the easer it will be to eat.
>>
>>43897282
I'll look into powered meals and try scattering protein bars around me then
>>
>>43897008
Eat soda and hot chip
>>
>>43897314
>protein bars
no. protein bars are extremely filling and hard to eat and often taste like shit. the more palatable, moreish and calorie dense the better.
>>
>>43897335
Fair enough but what are good then?

I literally ate a Wii U and gained its pronouns
>>
americans are fat because they eat so much fatty meat. best way to consume extra calories if you're trying to gain
>>
>>43897008
overnight oats, you need to always have some in your fridge. if they sit too long, you can make them into protein muffins, pancakes, and cookies very easily.
literally just 1 part oats 2 parts water, easiest quick high-calorie slip in the world, and has undoubtably saved my life at a couple points
>>
>>43898972
*high-calorie slop
my bad g

Slowly trying to gain weight but it's taking forever. Mainly target high calorie, low sugar stuff like rice, potatos, chicken, oats, pasta, olive oil, PBJ
