I just want to point out that it's currently the Sabbath in Israel, which means everything shuts down even for non-practicing Jews. And there are basically no polshit threads or transphobic trolls.
The Sabbath has ended over 12 hours ago. Your statement about a "shutdown" is incorrect. Some businesses are closed during the weekend, but many keep open. Services like internet access operate at all times. It's not too different than a Sunday in the US and Europe. The Tel-Aviv pride parade took place on Friday. There are numerous LGBT organizations in the country, and it's not at all unusual for LGBT individuals to be "out". Israelis aren't a single block of people who all share the same beliefs, you know.
