Why is genderbending fiction almost entirely limited to comedy or porngraphy? Where are the stories with a genderbent main character that still have good characters, story, action, worldbuilding etc.?
Because if it's in the story readers expect to read about it.

People with the interest, for whatever reason or purpose, who can write stories which are at the very least entertaining, are either aware enough or in need of someone who is aware enough to know that a sincere story from that perspective is a coin flop. If there aren't any ironic layers to the story people react poorly, so all of those stories are either in fanfiction or buried in some obscure pirate mirror with four views and 60 fans that would kill to hear another person utter the name of their favorite "Trap media"

People don't use that label much for The Marvelous Land of Oz, for instance.

>>43912278Because executives get really scared and pissed off about normal stories with people that happen to be trans and shut them down.Like picrel was the most based and accurate depiction of a trans man ever made in media, but because the show isn’t about trans people the executives freaked out about alienating the audience when they saw the scripts for the reveal and made them rewrite it to randomly kill everyone with no ending.
