Unironically the ending could have been fixed if they hard cut right when Caine is seen looking at the group after they bring abstraction!Jax in the tent. Them being connected to the internet and learning about their IRL counterparts sucked.

Despite this, even if Caine is fully deleted his data could still remain in the RAM of the computer until written over. I always assumed the Void was either empty drive space or the RAM, and in both cases he'd be able to survive deletion.
