For me it was a way to survive as a "would be hon" in openly hostile towards queers envoriment. People who repress from early age usually do it because they don't have the means to transition in safe and effective way. Being ostracized for indentity isn't something that anyone should experience but sad reality is that sometimes it's unavoidable especially if one is visibly trans.
