I think that being mute is very moe, and I find voice training tiresome. Is going mute a viable alternative to voice training? Has anyone done this? Please advise.

That won’t stop you from being able to vocalize; merely from being able to speak intelligibly

Same. It's a humiliation ritual everytime somebody tries to talk to me. I can almost never fully understand what they are saying and I can never ever say anything that I want to say CLEARLY and loud enough... My voice being deep and ugly is just a cherry on top of this shit. Sometimes I do wish that I was mute but I also do realise how frustrating the inability to communicate would be...

Pro-tip: if you know sign language the Deaf community won't even care that you are capable of talking. First, many of them couldn't even hear you talk if you did. Second, some deaf people do know how to talk, or have some degree of imperfect hearing, so that's not even much of a cue. Third, they just appreciate someone bothered to learn to speak their language.

well the point isn't to actually be mute. and presumably if im sleeping near someone i'd be close enough for them to know my secret...
and other than that, isnt the most common reason for muteness a mental thing? sneezing would be fine.
